I stopped at Episode 1. Couldn't even get to episode 2. The world is definitely ending. I actually completed the series and thought it was good, but 18 nominations might be excessive though |

Bruv have you ever seen me clamouring for the restoration of the snyderverse, I literally said that I thought they were delusional for thinking that Netflix would buy or be sold the snyderverse Netflix owns it and can choose to do whatever they want with it, but restoring the snyderverse is nearly impossible due to so many factors, the best that they could do even if they tried is an animated conclusion to the universe abduleez1: Lol, Snyderverse is dead and buried bruv even if Netflix owns the whole thing. |

Around this period last year, I had the impression that Snyder fans were delusional with their SellsnyderversetoNetflix campaign, now Netflix literally owns WB, that's Crazy to me, anything is possible ATP
I actually don't have a problem with Netflix owning WB my only issue is them not giving movies proper theatrical runs, if they could give strong performing movies at least 45 - 60 days in theaters and worldwide release, I see no problem with them owning WB, after all they didn't give Superman a proper theatrical run themselves (although that might be due to the fact that the movie didn't have enough juice to continue it's run)
At the very least it's one less streaming service to subscribe to with the perks of a much more vast entertainment library all in one place |

cColumbus: 12 Monkeys s1-4 Genre - sci-fi, action, drama.
Finally done with this series. Phew!
it wasn't all that baddass like I expected it not to be but it wasn't bad either. an average series with pretty decent action scenes, sometimes meaningful conversations, well placed clips that eventually become part of a major scene in the episode..omo all in all, it wasn't a bad watch sha..
Best n worst/annoying characters across all seasons *Best character - Jennifer Goines *Worst/Annoying - Cassandra Railey - phew!
*Reoccurring words/phrases - army of the 12 monkeys, primaries, scavs, causality, paradox, the witness, splinter( among others) Final rating - 5/10 (was torn between giving it a 5, 6 or 7 rating at first, but as it progressed, I settled for 5 cos some scenes were just unnecessarily - phew!)
-with that said, if you're a fan of time travel themed movies/series, then I recommend this series if you haven't seen it yet..like I said, it isn't all that baddass but it's not a bad watch either. The twelve monkeys "5/10" this must be rage bait and I'm not falling for it. That show is at the very least an 8/10 in my opinion, it has the best execution of time travel threads that I have ever witnessed in any live action media and is probably one of the best written shows ever... It was like every thing was already planned out before they shot the first scene, following that series was such an experience that I will never forget... |

Xavier5: Why not tell us the same excuses made for MoS also... or na only Superman you see... 😏
Talking about Oppenheimer and Barbie, why not tell us how many times things like that have occurred in the industry? So anomalies are now the rule? Also, why not tell us how Mission Impossible 7 was affected by Barbie, I thought it's standard for two competing movies to do exceptionally well when released same time? 😏
Also, no one is making excuses, and even if it's excuses, it's a justifiable one. If you think otherwise, give your reasons. Explain how F4 didn't affect the BO performance of Superman. What don't you tell us how Superman was performing before F4 was released? Aside that, explain how Superman breaking even and making profits is a flop or failure? If you call Superman a flop, what will we then call MoS that had no CBM competition then? If you want to argue, at least be factual... no dey do selective argument...
#Xavier I did not call superman a flop or failure my own is that a critically acclaimed superman movie with good word of mouth should definitely be making above 700m hence it underperformed in my own opinion, underperformance and being a flop/failure isn't the same, as for Oppenheimer and Barbie I'm just stating what's possible , its not like I was expecting Superman and F4 to both hit a billion dollars, but at least their performance should be a certain way that people wont even have grounds to argue their success because they would look ridiculous. I'm sure that even if you didn't have a billion in mind you were expecting Superman to perform better than this |
TV/Movies › Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by johnyace(m): 7:40pm On Aug 14, 2025 |
Unfavourable time for superheroes - excuses Competition from F4 and other movies - excuses Bad rep of DC brand - excuses (WB has made over 10 live action DC movies after getting rid of Snyder) US is not liked by other countries - excuses COVID - excuses Only 35 days at the BO - excuses So many excuses for James Gunn, na so una make excuses for Gunns suicide squad, GVK released the same year, the same HBO max treatment yet it performed better at the BO. Fast forward to 2025 una still dey make excuses, there's no way a critically acclaimed superman movie shouldnt be making north of 700 mil, except its not as good as you claim it is, MOS made its BO inspite of the bad/biased reviews... Well I don't by that bullshit of competition as the reason why it underperformed, if there's something barbie and Oppenheimer taught us, is that its possible for two movies to be financially successfully regardless of them being released at very close time periods A good movie, that's entertaining and resonates with the audience will definitely make bank...
Well I'm glad Zaslav seems not to be following the footsteps of the former WB execs and is still sticking with Gunn, because as I've mentioned before as a DC fan I just want to see a Cohesive live action DC universe, I no dey campaign for restoration of Snyder verse but abeg you guys should stop making excuses for Gunn

Everywhere is quiet now, but if this movie made 1 more dollar than the MOS, Gunn fans would be dunking on Snyder and his fans without holding back.
Anyways the movie will be out in a couple of days and I will get to see for myself, if it's actually better than MOS or not. |

I find it odd that a critically acclaimed Superman movie is struggling to get past 600m... Which leads me to believe that the movie may have gotten good reviews but it's not as good as they claim it is. |

SMUAG: But MoS did suffer same hate trains from the people today trying to gaslight everyone into accepting that a poorly executed movie is far better than anything. Not just that alone, they hardly stick to their Superman movie without trying to drag MoS into it. So It will be normal for any normal human to react and seize any opportunity coming their way to punch harder, which the current number for Superman gives that leverage to do so.. We should not pretend like Gunn fanboys are the quiet type that don't get into argument with others. They are also many youtube channels out there that their main objective is bashing anything Snyder have done and they are worse than the guys you mentioned above, which some of the names you mentioned ain't in support of Snyder's movies. Hint: if Snyder was the one who turned Kal-El parents into something else I don't think the internet will be able to contain the kind of hate comments that will be going around, but because Gunn can do no wrong he's allowed to change their backstory. Same movie that Superman lasered humans and allowed them to either fall to their death or survive it from over like 300ft up in the air without care.. The truth is when all is set and done people will come out from their closets to say the obvious truth - now they are all after " Gunn should not fail by any means" agenda... this is my exact problem with this folks, if Snyder had done something like that to Jor el that would be all people would talk about... As a DC fan I actually want Superman to succeed, because I actually want to see a more cohesive live action DC universe... It's quite unfortunate that people allowed their bias to ruin what Snyder had for us... Gunn has the goodwill of the people, so I'm sure his DC UNIVERSE will go on without a hitch, but people should stop acting like Snyder DC movies were bad and it wasn't their bias that clouded their judgement |

abduleez1: I know one DC guy that would suffer a meltdown and be shitting tears. they should have done this ages ago, I have always maintained that Zack should have been somewhat part of the new DCU team, not necessary that he gets to tell his own stories, but mainly for optics... Because like it or not, Snyder fans are a quite Vocal part of the DC fandom (I blame WB execs for this) and having them consistently shit on everything Gunn does is not good for a brand that's just Starting out... Making the DC fandom somewhat united is the best way to go |

abduleez1: James Gunn already addressed CLAYFACE and THE BATMAN II being close....he said CLAYFACE was in the DCU and doesn't really matter.
On Matt Reeves saying he's close to finishing up, still doesn't mean he's done with the work. No one is planning shooting and editing on "I'm almost done with it". Robert Pattinson is in high demand and has other projects too. So if script is taking too long it disrupts previous plans on shoot time. Also take note the 2026 release was set over a year ago hoping pre-production would be wrapped up in time. The Batman II was originally set to release in 2025 in case you all have forgotten. Then it was pushed to 2026 and still Matt Reeves continues to disappoint.
The star, Pattinson is set to play a huge role in Chris Nolan's THE ODYSSEY which starts shooting early 2025. So there's no way he makes it in time for The Batman II to get shooting, editing, VFX and sound and marketing ready before October 2, 2026. Batman II is planning for a late 2025 shoot which will most likely spill into 2026, so that October release doesn't look feasible. Well I just hope that they stick to the date this time around, and I hope that Gunn will allow Matt do his thing and not merge Battinson into the DCU, we need a separate Batman for DCU |
TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by johnyace(m): 11:26am On Dec 28, 2024 |
abduleez1: Release shakeup at WB.
Matt Reeves slow pace in turning up a script has essentially removed The Batman II from 2026 release. I doubt that the script isn't ready, especially with the fact that the statement in itself is ambiguous and would most likely mean that James Gunn doesn't approve of the script yet, because Matt Reeves said this a few days ago, so it not grounds for shifting the movie by over a year And also no way they are allowing two Batman related movies release weeks apart, with clayface being the priority because it's in the DCU

SOZINN: You've captured the essence of the situation. Zack Snyder isn't even on my list of favorite directors. While I've both praised and criticized some of his works, the current discourse on comic accuracy and this whole "ideal Superman" rubbish is excessively one-sided. Since 2010, a majority of directors have taken liberties with comic book characters, reshaping them to suit the stories they wish to tell. Even directors renowned for crafting exceptional comic book adaptations have been found guilty of this practice at some point.
For me a prime illustration of this is "The Dark Knight Rises". We all know the rendition of Bane in that film is not the one from the comics. However, integrating a comic-accurate Bane into that particular plotline would have posed its own challenges. Christopher Nolan excelled in delivering a compelling story in that movie, that's why Bane's comic inaccuracy is not the predominant talking point wherever that movie is discussed.
Soon James Gunn will begin to reinterpret characters and their origin stories within the DC Universe, it's something that's surely inevitable. Gunn executed this strategy effectively in the MCU, with Adam Warlock serving as the biggest let down in my opinion. While envisioning a comic-accurate Adam Warlock within the MCU, particularly in *Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3*, raises questions, I find solace in the fact that the film exemplifies a stellar comic book movie. Therefore, the criticisms leveled against Snyder regarding comic accuracy appear unfounded in the broader context of comic book adaptations. took the words right out of my mouth

IbrahimMav: Zack Snyder is a hack who got lucky with 'Dawn of the Dead' and has been riding on that high since. Thank the stars WB fired him when they did for he would have done an irreparably damage to the Superman lore. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
Snyder fans are a curious bunch. I often wonder what they see in that hack that warrants such hardcore loyalty? It's actually the way people criticize him with so much bias and prejudice that makes me support him because I look at the criticisms and then look at his work, and I realize that he doesn't deserve this much bile. Regardless, I hope James Gunn succeeds with the DCU because above all I want coherent DC stories that will be told without interference of WB executives |

BlackManta: I'm still wondering why James Gunn started the DCU with Creature Commandos
Don't get me wrong. I like the show. It's not great or spectacular but it's entertaining.
But James Gunn could have just started with Superman and released CC after that
What's so special about Creature Commandos that you had to begin a new DCU with it
The MCU started with Iron Man DCEU started with Man of Steel
DCU is starting with Creature Commandos while a Superman movie is scheduled to release in less than 7 months
Why? I think Gunn already wrote Creature Commandos before he was handed the reigns to DC, and if you observe carefully you would realize that it's a direct sequel to Peacemaker Season 1, meanwhile he was still working on his Superman script and probably wasn't sure it would be green lit due to the state of DCEU then. He probably had to adjust his Superman script after being appointed DC head and Creature Commandos being a direct sequel to Peacemaker Season 1 moved straight to production since the script was already done |

Arcane season 2 feels like Pantheon season 2 all over again, pacing is criminal, these dudes crammed at least 2 to 3 seasons worth of plot, character development and world building into one.
I understand Pantheon had to do it because they were cancelled and had to conclude the story, but seeing that Arcane was far from being cancelled, why pace season two like that? |
