TBH, I'm actually glad that James Gunn is setting up Superman legacy in a world where heroes already exist, because in the comics it's already canon that the justice society of America comes before the justice league.

Zack Snyder missed with this one
I understood the plot, but I wasn't invested in the story one bit.
He needs to go back to the drawing board, and work with good writers and also reduce the slo-mo (they can get annoying sometimes)

Snyder isn't perfect, no one is, so what makes you think that I would defend everything he puts out, there are a few creative decisions he made in the DCEU that do not sit right with me but that doesn't mean that I don't enjoy his work.
