'NIGERIA POLICE FORCE KILLED AN INNOCENT MAN IN ABAVO TODAY: police man serving at Abavo Police Division, in Ika South L.G.A, of Delta State, pushed an Abavo youth who was standing by the road side waiting to cross to the others side, into an oncoming lorry ascending from the Warri axis of Agbor/Warri Express Road. The police men ran through walk lane trying to block the oncoming lorry now push Mr. Festus Ozuor to oncoming lorry The victim died few hours after the incident. Right now, there is commotion at the Divisional Police Station at Abavo, as the youths have barricaded the road, making motorists and commuters to take alternative route out of the town. Abavo youth seek for justice calling on commissioner of police to investigate the matter. The DPO of abavo police station who agree with the youth that the police men pushed the Mr. Festus Ozuor is from his division'.

This was revealed by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Khadija Bukar-Abba at a hearing on the issue jointly held by Senate and House of Representatives Committees on Foreign Affairs yesterday.

Jerry Okosun, the son of late musician, Sonny Okosun yesterday at the Victory Chapel, Imo State Govt House manifested the uncommon anointing when he preached the Gospel to the congregation.

The impact was so moving that made the Governor to support him in his ministration. To that end, the Governor promised him a Car and cash in support to his divine calling.

Today, the Chief of Staff, Imo State government house, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, on behalf of the Rescue Mission Government of Imo State presented A Brand New KIA Car and Cash gift to assist him in his evangelism. This is to enable him respond effectively to his ministration calling.

The Esan born Evangelist from Edo State has served meritoriously in the Rescue Mission Government of Imo State for Years specifically in the Protocol Department.

His late father,Sonny Okosun was born on January 1, 1947 in Enugu, Enugu State, Nigeria and died on May 24, 2008 in Washington DC. He was one of the leading Nigerian musician of the late 1970s to the mid 1980s, from Esan in Edo State, in the South-South of Nigeria. He was
from the Esan ethnic group.

One of his songs "which way Nigeria" still rings bell till today.

'The Spate of Killing In Calabar Is Worrisome.

One found dead this morning close to Ekpo Okon's house at Ibom Layout.

Please the Police should identify the corpse and remove same from the Street while investigation on the cause of death and other inquiries are being carried out.

It is important that the Police work more proactive to ensure the safety to lives and property in Calabar.

Allowing dead bodies close to a politician's house like that of Ekpo Okon will send the wrong signals to the public.

Most important is the fact that the number one citizen of the State, Governor Ben Ayade, should be strict and tighten security measures in the State. Building the safety of lives and properties in the State on whistleblowers is the most deadly decision to be taken by our governor.

In one of my article titled "Towards A Lasting Peace: A Comprehensive Plan To Make Calabar Peaceful, Tourism & Investors Destination", I made a recommendation to the State for the need to build a network of informers. Those informers will inform security agencies in the State and government crime hotspots and persons committing these crime.
Even though the government came up with "Homeland Security", nothing has been done since the announcement and celebration of this.

It is important that the governor act as a governor. One with good intention for the people he governs. I mean, the spate of killing in the last one month alone is so high that business owner are shutting down their businesses earlier everyday. Some are relocating to safer climes like Akwa Ibom and Ebonyi.

Our governor must be seen doing the lots of talks he's been talking.

Citizens on their part must "shine their eyes" and "sharpen their ears" at night'

Edo State Government recently contracted aircraft to conduct an aerial survey of Benin City.It was inspected by members of Edo State Committee on the Implementation of GIS at Benin Airport .

At the end of this first phase, Edo will for the first time possess digital cadastres of Benin leading to the issuance of electronic Certificates of Occupancy. The entire exercise will generate not less than a thousand new jobs and optimise values for landed property in the State.

'Wetin person no know big pass am.

Few minutes ago I saw a post on Ozenia's wall that her neighbor's house is on fire I said to myself let me go and find out what's happening cos its my street.
I went out and was shocked to see black smoke everywhere . I inquired and was told that it was ogoni quarter ( a place down the slope dominated by ogoni and calabar people living in Batcha houses). By the time I got there fire don burn down the place. So sad.
I heard there that they called Rivers State fire service but were told different stories. Don't know how they did it but help came from total fire service very late tho'.
