Rivers Christian Leaders protest Southern Kaduna Killings urge Governor Wike to take their message to President Buhari Hundreds of Christian clerics under the auspices of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) staged a peaceful protest to the gate of Government House, Port Harcourt, demanding an end to the Southern Kaduna killings. The protesters were received at the Government House, Port Harcourt gate by the Representative of Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike and Chief of Staff, Engineer Chukwuemeka Woke . The Christian leaders presented a letter for President Buhari to the representative of the governor, asking him to transmit same to the President. In an address on behalf of the Rivers State Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Primate ICT Anyanasikike called on President Muhammadu Buhari to end the genocide in Southern Kaduna. The Rivers CAN called on President Muhammadu Buhari to rise and confront the hydra headed monster of Islamic Jihadists. They further urged the Federal Government to declare a national day of mourning in the nation. The Rivers CAN Chairman declared: "Let Mr President allay the fears of the people in the current imbalance which clearly exists in the appointments of security personnel, agencies and managers of national security". They called on the Federal Government to begin the process of reconciliation, reconstruction and rehabilitation of affected communities in Southern Kaduna. The Rivers CAN called for the restoration of all the villages occupied by the Islamic fundamentalists and compensation paid to victims. In his response, Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike assured the Rivers CAN leaders that their letter would get to the President. He urged them to remain peaceful, pointing out that development can only take place in an atmosphere of peace. The governor said that his administration will continue to promote religious harmony through its programmes. He said: " I thank you for your peaceful disposition in the course of your procession. "Let me also assure you that Governor Wike believes in one indivisible Nigeria. He believes in the rule of law and the freedom of association that is why in Rivers State, there is no disharmony in terms of religion. "Our Government suports religion, our government supports God. We believe that except God builds a city, the builder builds in vain. A Nigerian lady Adenike Oyetunde has taken to social media to call out Olamide for a poorly organised Olic3.Below is what she wrote..... 'Dear Olamide, what HAPPENED? What! I attended #Olic2 and without a doubt, it was by far my BEST event last year. I talked, and talked about it; everyone around me that didn't go, knew they had to this year. Imagine my excitement when I saw these pictures by TyBello, I knew #Olic3 was definitely going to be a hit. I needed to see 'Olamide Live In Concert' coughs. In my life, not even at either Canaanland or Redemption Camp had I EVER been stuck in such traffic. No clear plans on controlling humans(forget that we are peculiar here). The plan was go with Uber. There was a change, and a friend's friend took mayowaekpo and I. What should have taken maybe 30minutes max, turned to two years in traffic. Nobody deemed it fit to tell us that no cars were going into Eko hotel; we were all just hoping; stuck in traffic. Having to walk so far, isn't always my first option; for obvious reasons. Then I got into the hall, Olamide, why? I came in just as you were done with your first outing and I figured, he'll be back. You came back ONCE, while I was there and you played CD. Olamide, CD? I'm still too lost. CD. Like, ALL that for 'DJ, track 2'. Wait first, collect your money from the sound people; BAD, BAD sound. Even Adekunle(God bless his heart) who did LIVE for us, they sha spoilt his sound. I, Adenike Oyetunde came to see You Olamide, LIVE, (it was a complimentary ticket, FYI), and you hounded me with Comedy. HOW? How does that even work? Alibaba's January 1st Concert is coming, I'll get comedy there, WHY, did you succumb, Why? I thought you had it all figured out; but, awon aye sold this BAD idea to you. By the way, were you at Asa's show? If not, PLEASE, Watch the CD. That's what LIVE IN CONCERT is on about. I was TOO disappointed and I can't hide it. Excellency is KEY. You had ONE year to plan. I honestly didn't see ANY plan oh; at least, to me. Of course, I still danced, I screamed, I took videos; but, from last year; it could have been WAY better. I will not comment on that uncle that was jumping arand with you! Give us what we 'paid' for Nigerian Artiste, PLEASE. People hustled to GET tickets' Source: http://www.trezzyhelm.com/2017/01/nigerian-lady-calls-out-olamide-for.html?m=1

Inspiring story of Precious Ogechi,a Nigerian man from Port Harcourt who wrote JAMB 7 times. He wrote..... 'My Story After my secondary education, I decided to further my studies. I wrote the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th JAMB exams and they were all cancelled. I decided to take the bull by the horn. I went to Enugu State University for a pre-degree program. On the completion of the program, I was offered a course in faculty of Science but the cultism in the institution as at then was unbearable for me, having being attacked twice. I decided to use the 5th JAMB that was released to study at University of Port Harcourt. Then ASUU had a protracted strike that lasted for over six months, I needed to write a 6th JAMB and I scored 274 but that score couldn’t offer me admissions as the two JAMBS were combined because the strike entered another year. After the first 6yrs at home, WAEC too was cancelling my results and I wrote WAEC/NECO four times. I was frustrated, mocked, criticized and called a failure. Some of my classmates were already youth Corpers. Many out of pity told me to quit because school wasn’t for me. The criticisms, mockery and name calling from people that didn’t know what I was passing through compounded my issues and I started thinking of quitting/suicide. One evening, my brother in-law/mentor told me “Ogechi nobody can frustrate or determine the outcome of your life except you, don’t quit trying, you’ll be whatever you want to be” I repeated that to myself over a hundred times that night and I assumed the position of a CEO in my life. I enrolled for another pre-degree program in University of Port Harcourt, and wrote the 7th JAMB and it was also canceled but thank God I passed the BASIC program. So to gain admissions to do a bachelors program, I wrote JAMB 7times, WAEC/NECO 4times and Pre-degree 2times. However, when I finally entered University, I passed Rivers State government scholarship exams to study abroad but few weeks to departure, another government took over in 2007 and cancelled the scholarship. But I told myself I must study in Nigeria and abroad. People called me a failure but, I don’t know if I am still a failure, if school is for me now or not, or if am still bewitched as people said.. All I can remember now is that I have done BSc in Nigeria, Masters in Safety and Environmental Management in UK, have seven additional professional certifications, qualified as a Chartered Environmentalist in UK and have worked both in Nigeria & Scotland. I have learnt that setbacks are actually strongholds in disguise if we don’t quit trying. I have learnt that persistence wears off every resistance. I have also learnt as a Christian that if your faith says Yes, God won’t say No, only be DETERMINED. I give God ALL the glory and shame to the devil'. A former commissioner & PDP lawmaker in Plateau state Hon Sargwak Longnap Wazhi has been murdered by unknown gunmen after attending a peace meeting. The sad story was disclosed by Solomon Dalung Foundation. Below is what the Foundation wrote... 'SUNDAY CORNER "And the angel said unto them, Be not afraid; for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which shall be to all the people.. Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace among men in whom he is well pleased. Luke 2:10, 14 I am writing this morning with heavy heart and tears on my eyes because my beloved friend and long time associate, Hon Sargwak Longnap Wazhi, a peaceful was murdered in cold blood by unknown gunmen from attending peace meeting. I am yet to unravel the mystery surrounding his sudden disappearance from this planet. Also, why is this that peaceful men always end violently. Martin Lurther King, the advocate of peace in USA, ended with the bayonet of a violent assassin. You can kill the soul but you cannot kill the vision. "I have a dream.thundered the ambassador of liberty, indeed, "where the color of your eyes or skin...." metaphor became fulfilled in Barracks Obama several decades thereafter. Last two years the Wazhi family was thrown into mourning in the month of December, when one of his male children was murdered. Instead celebrating, we were in mourning mood. This news of his demise is a devastating situation not only for the immediate family but the entire people of Langtang South LGA. So sad, but who will question God. I am only questioning why peacefully men have been ending violently. Wazhi was an intimate associate, we may have political differences sometimes but it never affected our relationship. He contested Chairmanship Primaries in Langtang South in 1998 but lost to Nanman Darko under PDP. He was elected as sole candidate under PDP into the Plateau State House of Assembly in 1999. Wazhi, was a legislator for short period before appointed as Commissioner for Agriculture in the State Executive Council. He was move to Education and ended up with appointment as Permanent Secretary before new administration terminated his career. A professional agronomist who spent his early life in the PADP. A dedicated Christian who latter studied theology and became ordinated by his Ministry as a Pastor. A humble personality who was so reserved and misunderstood by many people in politics. In my opinion, Sargwak was a stranger in politics because his adventure in it was not favorable to him. In our politics diplomacy means hypocrisy but Wazhi was a frank and blunt character who cannot pretend. Because of his character strength many people did not understand him. He will tell you his mind without any apology or trying to polish it with deceit. He say it as it is. If Sargwak cannot afford anything he cannot even promise it which made him unpopular amongst politicians or followers who are ever expecting. My friend was a strict disciplinarian and complete family man. He visited me sometimes this year in my office in Abuja. After congratulating me, Wazhi exhibited his typical traits by unveiling his mission. "Solo, I heard that you are opposed to my nomination for federal appointment because I did not support your gubernatorial ambition in 2015". And I replied, "commissioner it's my turn to pay you back, because I supported you in 1999, but you did not consider me for anything". "Shege Solo.", we all boasted in laughter. We then agreed to continue a renewed political partnership with focus on promoting peace and understanding within our community. Now that God has decided to terminate our long time relationship with my friend and brother, I will only say thank you Lord but how I wish he did not end up in the hands of wicked men. My friend Samuel Gwamna, former Chairman Kwali Area Council was shot by unknown gunmen while leaving the office so many years ago, his killers are yet to come to justice. As mortal, I am devastated but say thank for what you have done to us. We praise your Name for you are God. May the Soul of Sargwak Wazhi rest in eternal rest amen'.
