It is very clear, but not clear to the mind not seeking God. For only the faithful can hear Him.

Why debate the word of God?? Is that not blasphemy??

A debate isn't the same thing as a quarrel. And I'm not trying to encourage that, just creating a free space where individuals can come together to freely discuss anything, with rules of respect in place.

I'm a Christian myself. But due to my doctrinal differences with a lot of Christians, it's difficult discussing things we disagree on especially online.

Simply put, there's a difference between disagreeing and striving.

What Is The Meaning Of Life?

This is a common question among people who claim a quest to "finding themselves" or to knowing their purpose in life. The question does not ask the literal meaning of the concept life, for if it did, then that would be quite easy to satisfy: life, in the literal sense is *the process of self-generated and self-sustaining action*. This of which is not possible to non-living entities. But the above question (what is the meaning of life?) when asked by people, is not asking for such a satisfaction. It is not asking for the literal, definitive meaning of the concept "life". No, rather it is asking, what is man's purpose in life? Or, what is the purpose of all life?

Most begin by identifying that inanimate objects created by man, such as tables, clothes, houses, bicycles, cars, etc., all these things and more exist to fulfill a purpose. And they even go further to argue that insects, bugs, plants and animals must exist to fulfill a purpose, although this is hard to prove in their mind. Because to them, you cannot say just because mosquitoes bite and suck blood to live, their purpose is to bite and suck blood, or etc. They say it must be something more "spectacular" than that.

In religions, this question has been answered that, we, living organisms of all kinds, exist to serve and worship whatever supreme creator one thinks exists or supreme creators one thinks exist. In the Christian and Jewish religion, this is spoken of in Psalm 150: 6 and other Bible/Tanach scriptures. While in other religions it is said in a different way, but all with the same claim, that we have an innate fundamental purpose in the plan of some supreme or prime consciousness, and we exist to fulfill this purpose: nothing more, nothing less.

In other groups, the non-religious groups, most grudgingly demand that *we do not have any purpose in life*, that it is us who create our purpose, and whether good or bad, anything can be our purpose! But fundamentally, we have no purpose in life. Life means nothing if you do not give it a meaning yourself, which they argue, is what the religionists have been doing for centuries, giving life a meaning, one based on the false conclusion of the existence of some supreme consciousness. But besides religious purpose, it is you who give life meaning, it's your individual business, and so, the meaning of life must be a subjective issue! Yet, in fact, it is not.

Life does in fact have an objective, fundamental purpose.

Since there is no evidence for the existence of a supreme consciousness, we cannot say that such an entity is who demands what our purpose in life is. And since in fact, life does have a purpose being that, *nothing exists/can exist without necessity in reality*, we also cannot falsely therefore claim that life has no fundamental purpose or meaning, it definitely does.

Purpose is a moral subject. Morality being the study of values. Purpose is the fundamental value to a living entity, if by "value" we mean, _"that which one acts to gain and/or keep"_. Being that a purpose is a goal to achieve something beneficial, and we know it has to be beneficial, because a living entity that exists programmed to destroy itself (programmed for self-destruction) could not have come into existence in the first place, since all his predecessors would have had the same programming as well, killing themselves before being able to procreate him.
So we therefore know that since animals solely live by instincts, and since an instinct of self-destruction is impossible, then only an instinct of self-preservation is possible. And we see this everywhere. Insects make all sorts of actions, most of which is to promote their survival, the same applying to plants which grow in such ways as to get sunlight and rain, and the same with wild animals which kill and hunt when needed in order to survive, and even in man, but differently. Since man does not possess an instinct of self-preservation, being that he has freewill, he must choose to think of what to do to continue his existence and must choose to do them. Nothing man does for his life is automatic. But even then, he must choose life is he to continue to exist, or else he will go out like a blown-out candle light.

This is the fundamental purpose of all living entities: to make those actions that promote their survival. No purpose is more fundamental than that. All plants, insects and animals have to fulfill this, they have to put in *productive work* in their lives to live, this being the only real purpose of life. And the same applies to man, except with the exception that he has to choose this, to choose to be productive or perish. But does anything give living entities this purpose? Is it something we are programmed to pursue? No. It is simply the nature of reality, no entity can continue to exist if it is not sustained, and in the case of living entities, if it's life is not sustained. An entity that exists without sustenance is a contradiction in terms: no plant can survive without sunlight and water, and the same applies to insects, animals and man, adding food to the equation. This is simply the nature of reality. Nothing more. And since reality is not some "God" or consciousness, but is simply existence itself, we cannot say reality makes us want to live. No. We must make actions that promote our life if we are to keep living. Nothing else is more fundamentally necessary for the life of a living entity.

So to those who wonder what the meaning of life is or the purpose of life is, here is the answer: the meaning or purpose of life is to be a productive man, or animal or insect or plant (the purpose of life being productive work/the meaning of life being _to live_: life being _an end in itself_, it's own goal). To do those things, and only those things which promote life.
And in contrast, the "purpose" or meaning of death therefore, is to make unproductive actions, actions that cannot generate or sustain life.

But why should you live? Because living is good, living a deserved life. Because life offers pleasure and happiness, sadness or pain, if one lives life right.
