CareerRe: My Bitter Experience Doing A Security Guard Job by JoRev(m): 2:58pm On May 20, 2020
PART 2-

Woman:
Look, I can tell you endless stories of my experience, failures and success, but I will stop here. Any Woman who has rejected you because you are a security guard, that woman is not your wife- don’t hold it against them.

The woman that is made as a wife for you will stick by you no matter your occupation. Forget about a relationship, for now, work hard and package yourself first. Example. I met my wife while I was working as a Security Guard. She was working as a Manager in an Award-winning Hospitality Business; she earns many many times the amount of money I earn. I was honest with her from the beginning about what I do (I am just a security guard) my job was never an issue for her, all she saw was me and not my profession, not long after we married, then all the above ‘ breakthrough came.

Bottom Line:
Be proud of what you do; be patient, spend your free time and think what else can I do to have other multiple streams of income. Follow people, contents, blogs or news that challenge you to better yourself, think positively dream big Have a genuine Relationship with Jesus Christ ( also read Ecclesiastes 9:11)

PART 1-
I think the last time I replied to someone's post on Nairaland was about 7-8years ago. But after reading yours, I felt to share with you something that might help you.

Take note: a lot of people have replied you with brilliant, practical, and insightful posts, but I will add a little more, and I will segment my reply in 2 parts for easy reading!

My Experience:
I found myself outside Nigeria many years ago, I thought I would secure a high paying job- Na, the only job I could get into was Security Guard.
I was caught in a conundrum; excited about the job but, disappointed it’s a Security Guard Job. I discovered something later on. I need to embrace this job with all my heart and be the best in it.
With that attitude, I gave my best to the Security Guard work. Also, I made sure I had a good relationship with the Living God; by having daily personnel prayer time and Bible reading. You see, I was not playing church, but Genuinely relationship with Christ.

Discovery:
With a positive attitude, hard work; I realized the Security Guard job was the right job for me. Because often the Creator God makes great men or women great, by starting them bottom of the ladder of life. And Security Guard work is amongst the lowest paying and disrespected job in the society today.

You get to learn some of life's most important lessons from the lower vantage point of life and if you can be humble, grow a thick skin for the insults and learn from the ‘ low ladder position,’ then you will be crowned with something bigger in life later.

Breakthrough:

I gave my best and shrugged off the insults, mockery, and disrespect. Mind you, I did passthrough through a lot and a lot of terrible stuff (i.e. threatened with weapons, insulted, physically assaulted, stabbed, called names, faced bullying and cronyism etc.)
But, I continued to do the job and give my best; each time I am at work alone, I began to have so many life-changing ideas, began to set goals. I then started seeing myself as CEO, who was only working as Security Guard now. I also considered my then work as a Security Guard as life training for my future high-position.

Cut a Long Story Short:
With the Ideas I got while working as Security Guard; I set up my own Security Company, wrote a Security Guard Book (first of its kind in this western county by a security Guard), Got Newspapers Interview, Made it to the National TV and got Nominated for an Award.
From all this experience as a Security Guard; I have become a consultant. I now set-up security companies for other individuals and organizations, and I also use all the security experience to start creating Policy documents, Business Plan and other security documents and selling to individuals and established security companies.

TravelRe: A Must Read, What He Goes Through In Italy (HELP) by JoRev(m):
If this story is "True," I hope it is. I am far from Europe, but have been a Traveler all my life and I understand what it means to be in tough situation.

Things that helped me over the years. Self determination; always believe ' you will succeed. '

Prayers; God loves strangers, tell him to Keep praying to God daily and always trust Him, because that is the greatest helper of all Mankind. You guys too should keep praying for hm.

Your Brother is Like Joseph in the Bible, sold to Egypt,he suffered, was in prison for false accusation ( by Potiphars wife) but all these was preparing him for greatness.

Tell him to go online and looking for European Refugees Non profit organisation and tell them his story, they may help, or try to befriend Europeans online too.

Also this may sound weird, tell him to open a go fund me page and seek for help.

I dont know why, but I think he should remain in Europe, great men never found it easy, they always went through the hard and toughest route before they succeeded. But you guys decide whats best.

Also try and add materials, links etc that will be make this story more believable/real; am sure there are Nairalanders who may want to help, but they want to be sure its not scam.

Remember always commit your ways to God and He will always direct your stop and call Him and Trust Him in every situation and trouble.

Excuse my Typos.

BusinessRe: Profit Sharing Ratio Between Business Partners by JoRev(m): 4:17pm On Sep 24, 2016
Great idea's can not be bought with Silver or Gold (Money), but Ideas without Capital = daydreams.

I suggest, Partner One should accept 35%-40% and partner Two %65-%60.

Reason is: Partner One though you have all the monies and you plan to invest more, Partner Two has got the ideas and also invest his time and energy into it more.

When Partner Two realise you are not greedy for Monies, he will be happy, double his effort and bring more ideas that will creat trust and even make the Business grow bigger.

If you go for 50/50 I can assure you once the business is strong;Partner Two may, start another Business (on His own)and let the one you both have fail!

Make sure you have any sharing formula in written and documented form.

Thats just my Two cent.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Six Years After Graduation Yet No Job, I Think It Is Time I Delve Into Crime by JoRev(m): 5:16am On Sep 17, 2016
Hi Op,

Dont venture into Crime. Allot of people have given you good counsel here.

I also have got tons of experience like yours or even worst.

You are blessed to have finished school, millions of people will be happy to have that Certificate you got but they cant!

I know you are in a very tight Condition; I was once in that, even thought of suicide ( 9years ago) but today am alive, married and got my family.

You being the only Son or first Son is also a blessing to your family.

I dont know your religion, but I will tell you to sit in your room and sincerely ask God for help.

I advise you to do it all alone and Tell God " what you will do for Him if he helps you," please do not vow what you cant do.

After that for the next 3 weeks to 1 Month, start praising God for your situation, then praise Him for what He will do for you, praise Him for everything you can think of and if possible get Merlin R Carothers Book and read ( Power of praise)

Within that period, use it to start creative thinking, ideas what to do and God will help you discover your gift talent and direct your step. Also dont forget to apply for jobs and post " Job request online or hand in your resume even to places that are not looking for workers."

Please while you are praising God, try and refrain from complaining, you must have hope even when it seems nothing is happening and Trust the Creator of all creation.

I am telling you something that works and worked for others and it did work for me.

Bro I got extreme hardlife stories to tell you of my own but not today.

Do this after 1month and come and tell me how things are going, please dont go into Crime or ritual.

God bless you, will be praying for you.

Am an undergraduate in one of d uni
I wanna change my dress sense
Pls where can i buy cheap 2nd hand original sneakers like adiddas and nice jeans
Some ppl told me deep inside eko
Some said deep inside yaba

Pls if u hv idea pls drop it
I must commend how Brave you are! Not many people will want to publicly say they wear second hand clothes.

Many great men of Nigeria today had second hand clothes, but today they wear them no more.

Continue your studies hard, always stay humble and Original and God will lift you up soon.

About 12 yrs ago I know Katangwa (if they still exist) was good, cheap and had lots of stuff to chose from. Though they only open certain days of the week and you must go there early like 6-7am. Yaba had 'A' grade second hand a bit expensive and limited choice.

PoliticsRe: PICTURES : IPOB Holds Rally In Asaba, Demands Restoration Of Biafra by JoRev(m):
I am not and Igbo man neither am I a supporter of the breakage of "Nigeria " but from what our Past Political leaders have done to our commonwealth and resources. I think it is proper for people to express their grievance's in this way. I commend the Igbo people for doing this protest in a civil manner.

Don't forget that the issue of Boko Haram started as a result of poverty miss governance and corruption of our past leaders and even present. So the only thing the aggrieved youth from the North,East,West And South find solace in, is in such a group like Ipob.

The Niger Delta youths did same, by going to the creeks and fighting for "the people of Niger Delta" but at the end of the day, most if not all the agitators are now eating with the same Politician who have plundered and are still plundering our commonwealth.

I just hope that our fellow brothers from the east will not allow selfish people to hijack and sponsor this "Ipob" movement and when they get to the negotiation table, they line their pockets (I.e Niger Delta agitators) and forget about the masses who went on the street to protest;neither did they achieve their collective desire ( for Secession or better eastern development) but only creating some few billionaires out of this Ipob and Radio Biafra.

To the government of Nigeria, please do not understand-estimate this group, if they are genuine and United (which almost impossible) they can't be stopped. Please call all groups speak to them and listen to their cries, grievance's and try to reach out to them..but to those who chose not to take the path of reason, then others options should be made available... But violence should never be the way to tackle such questions.

I hope the new Apc government would be fair to all regions and seriously tackle corruption,Stable Power Supply,Employment and make National and regional development a priority. If if you tackle this 3 Seriously, issue of insecurity will be things of the past.

For an Idle and jobless man could be a tool of anarchy.

God bless Nigeria.
