Education / Re: Maltina Teacher Of The Year Competition 2015 by Joseosas(m): 10:10am On Jul 10, 2015
What a creative way to motivate and support teachers.
But sincerely, there are issues to these campaign/promotion. How does the coy(maltina) measure performance?. If its by voting or the usual way of sending a text message to a particular number, the results would definitely be biased. It would be heavily politicized, regionized, ethnitizied, sentimentized, religionized etc.(pardon my words of grammer, they probably may not be in the dictionary)
And I can bet you that the states with high population, technology, industrialization, literates, and with the help of the media would win.e.g. States from the south easts, south wests and south south, and north central including kano and kaduna.
Teaching children from already developed states like these especially with the trend in technology could be termed as easy although still not easy.
Have you ever taught in a typical northern public school(kebbi, adamawa, yobe, taraba) where a typical child isn't interested in school but have more interests in farming and rearing of cattles and cows? were 90% of children are block heads (don't even know what letter A looks like)?. Where technology and developmental strides is better imagined than seen in reality. where children go to school only to partake in the 'free meals' (incentives) offered by the government. The ability of a teacher to turn such child to a 'genius' in these adversities is what I call performance. And I don't know if sincerely, maltina would be able to carry out this 'campaign' and really achieve its desired goals at the same time.
I served in kebbi state and was also in sokoto, taraba and yobe states. And I can tell you that the teachers over there are trying. Though some are lazy but you can easily pick out the diligent ones.

Politics / Oshiomole Replies Okonjo-iweala, Says 'I Don't Want To Say She Knows How To Lie by Joseosas(m): 1:16pm On Jul 01, 2015
Edo state Governor Adams Oshiomhole has replied former Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala who yesterday denied allegations he made that she she spent N2.1 billion from the Excess Crude Account without authorization from members of the National Economic Council.

Speaking on Channels TV this morning, Governor Oshiomole said;

"I think with all due respect to former Minister Okonjo Iweala, she knows how to play around, I don't want to say lie with statistics. I have made this point that she keeps opening only parts of the pages and not the entire book. The logic of transparency is that the honorable minister must publish in full what is accruing to the federation account month to month and what is distributed to who?

What she has been publishing is what went to the Federal government, state government and Local government. What she has never published simultaneously is what is it that accrued during the period out of which this said some was distributed so we can net what is distributed from all that was collected so we can see what was left in the Excess Crude. Now you can see her changing the goal post. Okonjo was a member of the National Economic Council, I was a member and we have asked her and I am on record at asking her , don't give us verbal report on matters of federation account. Give us written report and the power to spend is not vested in Commissioners, she knows that. You look at the constitution and tell me what section gives the commissioners of finance presided over by the Finance Minister all not elected by Nigerians. The membership of NEC is clear-the governors chaired by the Vice President representing the President, the CBN governor and other federal relevant ministries such as the ministry of National Planning. How would she avoid this level of responsibility? When people are abusing governors today nobody is talking about Finance commissioners.Sometimes not even finance Minister. Why will she rather have the conversation with Commissioners of Finance and not the governors? So she has some explanation to do."he said

TV/Movies / Re: Ay's 30 DAYS IN ATLANTA Is Overhyped (opinion) by Joseosas(m): 3:08pm On Jun 26, 2015
The first time I watched the movie, your point 1 and 2 was exactly the things I told my wife. As a proper warri boy (schooled and resident in warri), ay didn't potray anything 'waffi' in that movie. probably that's why the movie isn't making wave over here in warri. you guyz should try this original warri film 'prodigal son'(teacher washigton) and compare with that of Ay.
Nevertheless, AY made it big with the movie. If there is a part 2, he should rada still with waffi originals(bovi) or come up with something better.

20 Photos That Are Sure To Make You Cringe
1. And The Winner Is…
Family photos are a time for reflection and posterity and happiness. At the center of any family gathering is that family’s patriarch, right? Once you notice what is between his legs, though, you might start to question a few things. We’re not sure what exactly it is, but we do know what it looks like.
2. Presidential Problems
There are a thousand things that could be said about the former President George W. Bush’s seemingly compromising position within this photo, but we will simply state that we’re hoping the guy on the left was only smiling because he was in the White House.
3. Poster Girl
We have to imagine that this situation happened more than just once, when this picture was taken. Note to all companies that advertise on large scale posters or boards: think of the height and position of your ad before things like this happen. It’s just bizarre.
4. Fashion Slip
Ladies, the next time you wear a tiny skirt, be aware of where exactly you are bending down. We are very curious to know what the advertisement of the guy in the photo looking up is for. Either the photographer here was just a creeper peeping tom or they saw the hilarity in the ad guy. Either way, awkward.
5. Need for Speed
Thank goodness for those souvenir cameras on pretty much every big roller coaster in the country or else we would not have ever discovered this gem. That will, hopefully, teach anyone with a weak stomach not to chug all those milkshakes right before a ride.
6. Who You Gonna Call?
This is why headshots exist for actors all over the world. There is a very limited amount of damage that can be done with just a simple picture of a person from the shoulders up. When you get into full-length body photography, these are the sort of problems you run into.
7. You Had To Stand Like That?
Kids go to parks with their parents. Parents watch over their kids while playing. Kids get thirsty or hot and go to grab some water. Dads make sure their kids are okay. All perfectly reasonable. What on earth possessed this guy to stand that way while directly in front of a fountain at a particular height on the wall, though, we have no idea.
8. The Pain of Defeat
Sports fans everywhere seem to be having a really tough go of it on this list. Context might tell us that the two fine gents in this picture were simply reacting to a bad game, but in the still-frame from that moment, we are instead left with what looks like a horribly compromising position.
9. Joyride
Reasons not to buy cars with flesh colored interiors: things like this are bound to happen. Merely posing in with both legs in front of her, this girl is unaware of the fact that the seat makes it look as though her legs are spread wide open for the world to see.
10. Let Me Get That For You
We’re not sure who is more uncomfortable with this magical find: the guy picking another dude’s nose or the guy getting his nose picked. If they were teammates, they would probably laugh it off, no big deal. In this case, though, this incident probably fueled some competitive fire on the court.
11. Balls Out
We all know how intense a soccer match can get and how emotional the players all are throughout the game. This, though, takes the cake for awkward moments on the field. While both players involved here probably thought nothing of an altercation over the ball, this is absolutely a photo we won’t soon forget.
12. Make-up Gone Wrong
Who knew a simple application of mascara could become such a big problem? Apparently, not this girl. While it was more than likely just an unfortunate trick of shadow and light, one has to wonder if the person who took the picture knew what they were seeing at the time
