SportsOFFICIAL: Chelsea Owner Roman Abramovich Puts Club Up For Sale At £2BILLION’ by Josephmorgan(op): 4:33am On Aug 26, 2018
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has hired New York bank Raine Group in preparation for selling off the club, according to The Sunday Times.

The bank is said to have valued the club at £2billion and Chelsea have engaged their advisors after they helped Manchester City sell a 13 per cent stake in the club to China Media Capital for £265m in 2015.

It is unclear whether they would look for new owners or to sell a stake in the club which Roman Abramovich bought for £140m in 2003 but the move comes at a critical time for Chelsea, who look overwhelmed by the scale of the wealth of clubs such as Manchester City and Paris Saint Germain.

SportsJose Mourinho Tells Paul Pogba To Hand In Transfer Request If He Wanted To Leave by Josephmorgan(op): 2:32am On Aug 17, 2018
Paul Pogba and Jose Mourinho are not on speaking terms after the Manchester United boss told the Frenchman to hand in a transfer request if he wished to leave the club ‘again’.

The pair clashed this week at United’s training ground following Pogba’s controversial comments after the Red Devils’ 2-1 win against Leicester City on Friday.

Pogba was handed the captain’s armband and put in a man of the match showing against the Foxes in a performance that many supporters had hoped would quash speculation that he wants to join Barcelona.

However, Pogba all but confirmed his unhappiness at the club by telling reporters after the game: ‘There are things I can say and there are things that I can not say, otherwise I’ll get fined’.

Mourinho was said to be livid at the comments after extending an olive branch to the midfielder and he believes Pogba threw the goodwill back in his face, in line with the Sun.

SportsRe: Diego Costa Stars As Diego Simone's Men Win UEFA Super Cup - 5 Talking Points by Josephmorgan(op): 10:46pm On Aug 15, 2018
Josephmorgan:
Diego Costa grabbed a brace as Atletico Madrid came from behind to beat arch rivals Real Madrid and lift the UEFA Super Cup.

The former Chelsea striker fired Diego Simeone's side in front after just 49 seconds as he beat Keylor Navas at his near post.

Karim Benzema levelled for Real as he combined well with Gareth Bale in the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo to head home.

And Sergio Ramos looked to have earned the Champions League winners victory when he fired home from the spot midway through the second half.

But Costa would not be denied and he finished from close range with a little over 10 minutes remaining.

His equaliser took the tie into extra time and Saul Niquez settled it in style with a stunning volley before Koke made sure with Atletico's fourth.

SportsBayern Munich Beat PSG In International Champions Cup by Josephmorgan(op): 9:22pm On Jul 21, 2018
Spaniard Javi Martinez, Portuguese youngster Renato Sanches and Dutchman Joshua Zirkzee provided Bayern Munich with a comeback victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the International Champions Cup.

Timothy Weah had given the French Ligue 1 champions the lead, but on the hour mark the Bundesliga holders equalised and went on to win.

Both teams have new coaches and had heavily weakened line-ups with internationals still on holiday after the World Cup.

It allowed Weah the possibility to start in attack and he added the finishing touch to Kevin Rimane’s cross.

PSG faded in the second half though as Martinez headed in from Arjen Robben’s corner and Renato Sanches scored on the counter before Joshua Zirkzee added a 3rd with a superb assist from Serge Gnabry.

SportsRonaldo Post About Joining Juventus Was Instagram Fifth Most Liked Picture Ever by Josephmorgan(op): 8:15pm On Jul 20, 2018
Talk about influence

Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Juventus wasn’t what any football fan expected to see this summer, even when he spoke after the Champions League final, hinting at a move away.

We all thought it was another ploy to get more money out of Real Madrid, but it turns out he was serious. Either that, or like in Friends when Chandler told Janice he was moving to Yemen, and then actually had to board a plane to Yemen, Madrid called Ronaldo’s bluff and Ronaldo then had to move to avoid the embarrassment of a U-turn.

Either way, the transfer shook things up. Juventus may now have a genuine shot at winning the Champions League, just after Gianluigi Buffon leaves, and Real Madrid is entering a post-Ronaldo era.

The incredible nature of the transfer has attracted so much attention from around the globe, that Ronaldo’s Instagram post announcing his arrival in Turin broke records, as it became the fifth most liked picture on the platform of all time.

SportsCassano: Ronaldo Is The Nadal To Messi’s Federer’ by Josephmorgan(op): 3:23pm On Jul 18, 2018
Antonio Cassano used tennis icons Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer to compare Juventus recruit Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona’s Lionel Messi.

Antonio Cassano likened Cristiano Ronaldo to Rafael Nadal and Lionel Messi to Roger Federer as the former Real Madrid forward praised the two football superstars.

Ronaldo and Messi have dominated the sport over the past decade, splitting the last 10 Ballons d’Or as former players, pundits and fans debate the pair’s standing among the best ever.

And after Ronaldo swapped European champions Real Madrid for Italian giants Juventus in a sensational €112million transfer completed this week, Cassano used tennis greats Nadal and Federer to compare the 33-year-old Portugal captain and Barcelona icon Messi.

“I love Messi not as a counter-point to Cristiano, but because in my view he’s the best of all time and the emotions he gives me are unique,” former Italy international Cassano told Vanity Fair.

“If I have to rationalise it or convince you, I ask you to find me someone else who handles the ball and scores so consistently as Messi.

“Cristiano lacks nothing, let’s be clear, but that’s not the point. I love tennis. Now, Cristiano is like Nadal, a fantastic athlete built on talent, but also hard work and desire.

“Messi is more like Federer. He is pure artistry and class. They are different, and you can prefer one to the other. I am with Messi, as he can make the difference even when standing still, he almost doesn’t need physical fitness.”

“I also named my second child after Lionel,” Cassano added

Cristiano Ronaldo, meanwhile, brought home 108m US dollars thanks to sponsorship from Nike, Herbalife, EA Sports, American Tourister, and his own CR7 brand of hotels, fragrances and more.

SportsWhy Real Madrid Will Not Miss Cristiano Ronaldo by Josephmorgan(op): 9:06am On Jul 15, 2018
The sale of Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus for 105 million euros has been a shock for many of the faithful of the Madridista parish, however, the club is about more than the Portuguese.

Yes, Real Madrid has allowed a player who has scored 451 goals in 438 games during his nine seasons to leave.

A striker who has also won four Ballon d’Or’s and raised four Champions Leagues as well as two Leagues and two Copas del Rey during his time in the Spanish capital.

However, his leaving is not the end of the world for the European champions, and there are a series of events in recent years that show that this statement can be considered more than correct:

The goal is the king of football, that’s clear, and for Cristiano, they were a priority.

Fifty per season have been consigned to the past, but we are talking about the centre-forward of Real Madrid, not only Cristiano .

Karim Benzema may have been an exception this year, but remember in the last 10, 12, 15 years… has there been a season at Real Madrid that has been characterised by the lack of a goal scorer?

Ronaldo Nazario left, and Van Nistelrooy arrived; the Dutchman left and Higuain appeared; he left the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu and the goals of Benzema made the faithful quickly forget the Argentinian; this year, without the Frenchman or Ronaldo at their best level, Madrid have still finished the league with 94 goals, a not insignificant figure, and only Liverpool scored more goals in the Champions League.

Are 50 goals therefore really missing?
