Cristiano Ronaldo has netted 7 goals in his first 10 league games since Juventus 60 years – a feat no Juve player has achieved since John Charles. Tévez, Inzaghi and Higuaín managed 6. Cristiano Ronaldo is taking no time at all to register historic figures with Juventus. Ronaldo was on target twice in the 1-2 win at Empoli at the weekend to take his overall tally to seven goals in 10 Serie A outings – a feat which no Juve player has achived since the great John Charles. Welsh striker Charles, who ended the 1957-Eight season as the top scorer in the division with 28 goals also scored seven goals in his first 10 games. The record which Cristiano shares with John Charles is much more spectacular when put into context in comparision with the other great forwards who’ve played for Juventus. Three Juve players hit six goals in the first 10 Serie A fixtures – Gonzalo Higuaín (2013-14, ending the season on 24), Carlos Tévez (2013-14, ending the season on 19) and Filippo Inzaghi (1997-8, ending the season on 18). Alessandro Del Piero, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and David Trezeguet managed to score 5 goals in the opening 10 league games, ending the campaign with Juventus on 21, 16 and 14 goals respectively. As speculation over a breakdown in his relationship with Jose Mourinho continues, Paul Pogba declined to speak to the media. Paul Pogba has added fuel to the fire of his rapidly disintegrating relationship with Jose Mourinho by turning down interviews in the wake of Manchester United’s latest defeat with a four-word reply: “You want me dead?” However, Pogba didn’t hold back in his apparent criticism of United’s tactics in a tame draw against Wolves at Old Trafford, saying the team should “attack, attack, attack” at home in what was broadly considered a barb at Mourinho’s gameplan. African football will support FIFA president Gianni Infantino in his re-election bid next year, the Confederation of African Football president Ahmad Ahmad said on Sunday. CAF officially endorsed the candidacy of Infantino at its Congress in Egypt on Sunday with messages of support from the organisation itself and also on behalf of member associations read out by Morocco. “We are not only backing you but we will be travelling with you to publicise your ideals and the great work you have done since you took over,” said Morocco football federation president Fouzi Lekjaa. But an official endorsement has previously proven no guarantee of votes with many African associations breaking ranks in past elections. Infantino announced in June he would run for re-election as head of soccer’s global governing body when elections are held in Paris in June 2019. “I want another four years of it because I believe in what I do,” Infantino said at the FIFA Congress in Moscow. “I believe in what I can do for FIFA and for football.” No other candidate has yet declared an interest in standing against Infantino. Cristiano Ronaldo is to sue a German magazine after it published accusations by an American woman she was raped nine years ago by the star. Lawyers for the former Manchester United star are to take legal action against Der Spiegel over “blatantly illegal” allegations. Kathryn Mayorga, 34, was unveiled on Friday as the woman who has accused Ronaldo of sexually assaulting her in a Las Vegas hotel room. The Juventus star was on holiday in Sin City in 2009 with his cousin and brother-in-law when he met the part-time model. During the alleged incident, she claimed Ronaldo fell to his knees and said he was "99 per cent a good guy" who was let down by the "one per cent". Later, Ronaldo allegedly paid her £287,000 as an out-of-court settlement which contracted her to never speak about her claims. http://sportblitzz.com/2018/09/28/cristiano-ronaldo-sue-der-spiegel-claims-he-raped-american-woman/ The footballer, 33, denies the allegations - which first surfaced on the Football Leaks website in April 2017. According to court documents Der Spiegel claims to have seen, Ronaldo insists the sex was consensual. His lawyers, Schertz Bergmann Rechtsanwälte, issued a statement denying Mayorga’s rape claim saying they would sue for “compensation for moral damages”. His solicitor, Professor Dr Christian Schertz said: “The reporting in SPIEGEL is blatantly illegal. It violates the personal rights of our client Cristiano Ronaldo in an exceptionally serious way. “This is an inadmissible reporting of suspicions in the area of privacy. It would therefore already be unlawful to reproduce this reporting. “We have been instructed to immediately assert all existing claims under press law against SPIEGEL, in particular, compensation for moral damages in an amount corresponding to the gravity of the infringement, which is probably one of the most serious violations of personal rights in recent years.”
