THE Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Esan Students Association Worldwide and the Nigerian Institute of Surveyors over the weekend commended the management headed by the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), Prof. Osayuki Oshodin, on the school’s early conclusion of the 2013/2014 admission exercise and the developmental strides the school has attained.
A letter signed by the Registrar/Chief Executive of JAMB, Prof. Dibu Ojerinde, addressed to the Vice-Chancellor noted that the early conclusion of admission exercise by the university goes a long way to demonstrate that university is on its path to glory.
The management of the University of Benin has again shown that they are determined to right the wrongs associated with our education system particularly the admission exercise and all the problems associated with it.
The Esan Students Association in a letter signed by its President, Marxist Sunday Ogun and Secretary General, Alex Oseghale Orukpe, said the recent sack of 42 staff of the university who were said to be involved in various offences was an indication that the management of the university has a listening ear.
“In your administration, students see the need to complain as they will be attended to swiftly. The attitude of some of the lecturers who allegedly demand gratification from students either in cash or kind can no longer be accepted in the school system,” it stated.
