It was very easy for a white man to learn an African language in 1624, why?

WHAT'S THE WORST RESPOND TO "I LOVE YOU" THAT YOU HAVE EVER GOTTEN?

So there's this girl I have been chatting with on telegram for about a month, we became so fond of each other that a day hardly pass without reaching out to ourselves. Our friendship soon got out of only chatting as we started calling each other too, this girl always sound so caring and honest that she won my heart even without us meeting facially.

Then I suggested we meet facially, she agreed and we had our first meeting. It was quite warm and loving as the girl wasn't short of what I have known her to be online. The curves, cute face and average height, everything was perfect. I just loved her

So fast forward to last weekend. I called to find out what her weekend schedule was, she said she wasn't gonna be free as she was attending her cousin's wedding. Then she asked why I was asking, I told her I had something for her. She then said she will be free by Sunday evening.

So we met in a fast food restaurant that Sunday evening, she asked what was it I had for her, I brought a fancy bag and gave to her, in there was a gold watch and a necklace and a flower.... She exclaimed if all that was for her, I said yes. And she thanked me and we shared a hug for the first time. After a while she left.

Then later that night she inquired why I got her the gifts, straight to the point, I told her that "I LOVER HER"

And the shocking response from her made me create this thread, she responded ' Thank you but I don't love you'.
I asked why, she said it is what it is and hung the call.

Since that last Sunday till today she has refused to respond to my chats.

My Salary is a little above #100, 000 naira, My friends know I am working which brings enormous pressure on me, They think it is a high paying job because of the Corporate dressing and all.

I don't Know if it is the hardship from this era, but now 4 out of every phone calls someone receives is usually them asking you to lend them money. Currently self I am skeptical of answering phone calls. Work Colleagues also do not spare you in this regard.

My problem now is I am too soft hearted, Any small story and I am already heading to my bank app to do transfer for,

Beginning of June, money I lent to a total number of 7 different people was running into almost 60,000 naira.
At the start of July, Only two people have paid me back (5000 & 4000)

Because of that I promised myself not to lend anyone money again from my salary, but Just this morning I got a call from someone I know , he was crying to me of his salary being delayed at work.
He pleaded with me to lend him #10,000 which I obliged, Knowing fully well I wont get my money back (He has borrowed 8k from me before without paying back)

I think something is wrong with me, I can even go to loan app to borrow and gift a friend if I don't Have

Same borrowing habit almost ruined my Dad, it destroyed his friendship with a close pal, he borrowed his friend #800,000 back IN 2011 when money still had value, the friend refused paying and that crumbled his business for a while.

My Mom have warned me if I continue, I might experience same.

I really need to change...

All those your friends seeking your help to borrow them money don't refuse them if you have for the very first time they are asking ( but mind you, don't borrow anyone what you can't dash them in case they refuse to pay back).

Note, don't ever try to borrow someone the second time when they refused to pay the first one you borrowed them.
