This ignorance on rampage. God created things in time and space but He never and will never exist in time and space. Again, come to think of it if Jesus died at 3 O'clock and that was in Israel, so how does it translate into something reasonable since 3 O'clock in Israel is not same in Nigeria? Demons or spirit beings do not operate in time and space. So there is no 3 O'clock in the spiritual realm. click the link below to learn more https://www.talkingchristianityng.com/2018/11/16/prayer/ |

Managing and eradication Covid 19 is the most essential and focal concern of the entire world now. Presently, Covid 19 or Coronavirus is a viral disease that is ravaging and killing people in mass all over the world. The world health system and structure has been put in total disarray because of the outbreak of this virus. Human beings even in the so called advanced world are dying anyhow and there is pandemonium. There is little the ‘well-structured’ authorities of this world could do to ameliorate the situation. Obviously, this is not the first time a pandemic is taking place in the world. The difference is that Covid 19 is ravaging and killing people tremendously and there is limited control over it. Certainly, it implies that there is paucity of wisdom/knowledge to handle it. Somehow, Covid 19 has exposed the weakness of man’s scientific prowess. The effect of this is the sudden sharp U turn towards God. People are eagerly seeking God’s divine power in order to quell this situation. God has become the sudden last resort for many who believe in Him. Also those who have ignored His existence have decided to accept that He does. This is happening because they believe that He has what it takes to stop this pandemic. Within this period of time, all ears have been opened to hear what instruction(s) from God would be. People are very eager to hear from God on what step that should be taken to avert being a victim of Covid 19. As a result of this, many low and mighty ‘men of God’ have come up with many postulations suggesting that God has spoken through them. Many of them have boosted that they have what it takes to stop the ravaging effect of Covid 19. Also many have come up to say that Covid 19 is a tool in the hand of God to cleanse the Earth. As a result of this, many of have established the terminal date of this virus. However, their postulations have not helped matters. This is because it has helped to raise the tension higher than expected. The expectation of the people has been cut short because the terminal date did come into effect. Therefore, many who anchored their hope on their declaration have been disappointed in them and indirectly in God. Meanwhile, those who claimed they have the magical power from God demonstrated without positive effects. The question to ask is this… Has God failed man? The answer is an emphatic and capital No! LordReed:Thanks for your simplicity. The reality is that the child will believe that he was in the womb when he sensory organs have developed because of evidences that are around him. On the other hand, child while in the womb will not agree that a place called earth exists until he's birthed. In the same vein you cannot ascertain the reality of the life after death because you have not been there but you have to believe in it because of evidences that depict its reality. I appreciate you once again! |
LordReed:Good one! Please how can a child ascertain that he was in the womb of his mother? |
LordReed:I love this! Well, one doesn't know when he was in the womb of his or her mother, the truth is that he or she was existing though without his or her knowledge. For the baby in the womb to understand that there's a place called earth he needs to be born in this earth. It means he has to leave the womb and come into this earth. Even at that the baby needs to develop his sensory organs in order to understand where he is. After all no one knows when he or she was crawling around pushing things in the room down. There are things one cannot be able to explain inasmuch as one is still in this suit. That it is unknown does not mean that it cannot be ascertained, it can, just like many other things that are not tangible. Again, I appreciate you! |
LordReed: Is life meaningless? If it is, there shouldn't be the need for developmental growth in man. And if it is meaningful, what makes it meaningful should be ascertained and judged. As humans we have the ability to judge some characters as vile, rude, good, bad, honest etc. This is from known to unknown, it infers that there's accountability which is not deliberately finagled on man but exists as part of man. Therefore, that one doesn't know that there is life after this realm doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. For instance, there are creatures and organisms that man have not discovered, that man has not discover them doesn't mean that they do not exist. They are there existing in their own world irrespective of man's inability to discover them. Certainly there is limitation in knowledge and we cannot say because somethings are beyond our scope of reasoning their impact and existence is nullified. LordReed:Here you miss it again, the only person that is dead is the one living without Christ. Anyone in Christ is not dead. The truth is that you don't know how this whole thing began and you cannot by your human understanding tell how it will end. You came into this world without your knowledge and no matter the level of knowledge or wisdom you attend in this life, the wisdom that put this whole universe together is greater. Therefore, do not doubt about resurrection! Evidence has shown that this whole world was not created for the sake of it... The wisdom that put it together indicates that it's for a purpose that is suitable for the designer. You are not a product of a fluke occurrence, you are a product of inscrutable wisdom of someone whose dexterity is beyond human imagination. Surely, there's going to be the resurrection of the dead. We may repudiate that now, because it is beyond our scope of reasoning but it is not beyond the scope of the reasoning of the owner of this world. I appreciate your comments so far! |
LordReed:Of course it is very possible to achieve whatever you want to achieve in this life without God. You don't really need God to be rich and have a successful career but certainly you need God in order to obtain eternal life. A life without eternal life is vague and useless see Matthew 16:26, John 3:16-18, 1 John 5:12. If you are not eternally saved you have no place in God. Therefore, accepting Christ in your life remains the real deal. I didn't say you should give your life to Christ because if you are not saved in Christ you have no life, though you are moving around and doing business and making money. Please if you have not accepted Christ in your life do not hesitate in doing so even now. Thanks once again! |
LordReed:This question is timely and thank you for it. Well, the number one thing you need God for it your salvation. You cannot save yourself is God that has what it takes to save man see Jonah 2:9, Act 4:12. This has been fulfilled in Christ. Now consider this, salvation is not material needs that most believers are busy "talking to God about" knowing very well that most of the needs we are busy talking to God about many unbelievers are not in such needs but they do not have God, meaning they are not saved in Christ. Secondly, you need God (the indwelling Spirit of God)in your life in order to will and to do. It is by His Spirit dwelling you that you cannot be able to know what to pray about and how to pray about them. See Psalms 32:8, Philippians 2:13. The desire of God is to dwell in you. Thanks once again... |
LordReed:You make power available through the words of your mouth See Proverbs 18:21, Job 22:28 and Mark 11:23. You make power available when you speak to situations not to God, reason, God is aware of the situations, He doesnt need to be informed about it. For instance, there was a situation on the face of the earth God didnt go about wailing but spoke to the situation and the condition of the earth changed immediately. As a man existing in this earth God has inducted in you the power to speak and change things around. Thanks for your response ...... |
Blakewilli:Sorry for the late reply. Well, I never said that we should not pray, in fact every man should pray! However, I said that prayer is not really talking to God as many have been taught and have believed. And I said that God cannot react because one can only react to what he wasn't aware of. It means that such things happened without your knowledge. In the case of God nothing happens without His consent, He knew even before the foundation of the earth that such will happen and as a result He has made solution available for such. Note, that no matter how dreadful the sickness is, whether HIV, AID, ete. God in His infinite wisdom has made the solution available for man. Knowledge becomes the issue. This is why in the Epistle Apostle prayed for knowledge not for things or to have things. Therefore it is apt to say that God has responded to our prayers even before we have prayed our prayers. It implies that our prayer is making power available in order to take what God has already given or provided for us even before the situation happened. God has given us He will not give us See (1 Corinthians 2:12, 2 Peter 1:3, 1 Timothy 6:17) Noticed that in the Epistles for instance, no prayer was technically for needs but for knowledge. Jesus while teaching in the gospel said "For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith." Mark 11:23. Jesus said speak to the situation not to God. God knew about the situation and He has made power available in a believer to take away the situation, See Ephesians 3:20. Prayers are answered according the power that is at work in you. You are blessed! |
LordReed:Most Christians erroneously have been taught that prayer is talking to God or means to remind God of their situation and ask Him to do something about it. And because of this, they go into prayer and fasting demanding that God should answer their prayers. Well, the last time I checked God is not a Being that has memory loss. Also you don’t need to put God in the know of what He already knows. Whatever your situation is He knew about it before you know of it. The good news is that He has made solution to that situation available even before the foundation of the earth. This is why He is God. However, God is not answering prayers, and He will not answer prayers but He has answered prayers. Prayer therefore is making power available as a man existing in this planet earth. And if you don’t do that God will not do it for you! |
charliboy654:So God reacts because you prayed? This means you dont understand the meaning of prayer. People like you think that prayer is talking to God, well you missed it! |
"As the God who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will, it implies that nothing takes Him away from focusing on His will. Also as the God that knows it all, He cannot react to something that just happened because He knew before it happened. If God reacts then He is not God!" Understanding the nature of God is a topic that has raised so much dust within the Christian sphere. This is due to so many divergent views many Christians have adopted in respect to this topic. However, this topic if properly handled, definitely the understanding of the nature of God will be divulged. The only source to create a better understanding of the nature of God is the Scripture. Unfortunately, many have the scripture and have read it but they have interpreted it wrongly. And from these wrong interpretations come the divergent views. In order to create a better understanding of the nature of God, the scripture must be the sole source of knowledge. Anything outside the scripture should be seen and considered as an assumption. There’s no way a conclusive and proper understanding of a nature of something could be made possible through assumption. The truth is that knowledge built on assumption cannot be factual and exact. Therefore, for one to be factual and exact in creating better understanding of the nature of God, he must deduce his facts accurately from the scripture. In this case, the scripture forms the basis for accurate knowledge of God! Firstly, to understand the nature of something, it behooves on the one interested in that particular thing to study the character and the making of that particular thing. Noting that, the characters of that particular thing mainly forms its description. For instance, if one wants to know the nature of Lions, he must go to the dean of Lions and study their characters. From his studies he can tell in totality the way Lions behave and build better understanding of them. On this note, we understand the nature of God by studying and knowing what the scriptures have said about Him. Here whatever the scriptures said is final! Let’s see some of the descriptions the scriptures gave God and from there we can deduce what His nature is like. In one of the Epistles of Apostle Paul, he wrote to the Ephesians thus: “In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will.” Ephesians 1:11 In the verse above our emphasis and attention should be on this line “who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will.” It says that God works all things after the counsel of His own will. This statement implies that God is a being that has His own will. That is, He has wills. Catholic churches run by the Chinese state have been ordered to hold events in which parishioners sing China’s national anthem, pray for the nation, and raise the Chinese flag, sparking outrage among local Christians. Persecution watchdog China Aid reports that ahead of China’s National Day on Oct. 1, the Chinese Patriotic Catholic Association, an organization associated with the Chinese government, and the Bishops’ Conference of the Catholic Church in China issued a statement declaring that Chinese Christians should take pride in the Communist Party’s leadership over the past 70 years and should hold events to celebrate it. According to the statement, before each morning mass on Sunday, September 22, parishioners attending official Catholic churches in every region of the country must sing China’s national anthem, pray for the nation, and raise the Chinese flag. The order sparked outrage among local Christians, who called the display of nationalism “outrageous.” “Many churches in Hangzhou have been required to raise the national flag and sing the national anthem for a long while,” Mr. Zhou, an attendee of a non-government church in Hangzhou, said. “Now, China is back to an absurd era, and some regions are even worse than the Cultural Revolution era.” One Christian from China’s Fujian province told China Aid that his church has even held patriotic song singing competitions and exhibitions of calligraphy, paintings, and photos to celebrate the National Day. “Now, people are even forced to love the country,” he said. “Churches across the country are forced to participate in singing patriotic songs, which is very ridiculous because patriotic songs basically are linked with the chaotic era of the Cultural Revolution.” Continue reading - https://www.talkingchristianityng.com/2019/09/29/national-anthem-and-raising-of-flag-is-must-in-chinese-churches/ |
Youth ministry – With 35 million youths raised in Christian families projected to disaffiliate from Christianity by the year 2050, youth ministry leader Greg Stier believes churches can’t settle for simply slowing down the bleeding. “How about not just slowing down the bleeding, what if there was a revival that flipped those stats?” he asked. “That is what we are praying for. How do we flip the switch?” The 131-page report, titled The Great Opportunity, is based on reviews of different reports and surveys examining millennial attitudes toward religion and relies most heavily on four major research efforts. The report was completed in collaboration between Pinetops Foundation and The Veritas Forum. According to the report’s authors and to Greg Stier, who founded the national youth ministry organization Dare 2 Share and has written several books on the topic, the massive disaffiliation trend over the next 30 years will represent the largest missional opportunity in U.S. history. But in order to respond to the trend, Stier believes that churches need to reimagine the way they do youth ministry. “If you were to go back to the retention rate of Gen X from 20 years ago, that would slow down [disaffiliation] to 20 million young people,” Stier told The Christian Post. “That’s more than the First and Second Great Awakenings and all the Azuza Street Revival and all of Billy Graham’s converts combined.” The report relies on research efforts like Pew Research Center’s Religious Landscape Study (2007-2014), the Baylor Religion Survey (2007 to 2011), a September 2016 survey from the Public Religion Research Institute and the Gallup Annual Religion Surveys (1992-2016). click the link to continue reading: https://www.talkingchristianityng.com/2019/09/24/youth-ministry-thirty-five-million-youths-to-leave-christianity-by-2050/ |
Churches across China’s central province of Henan have been forced to replace the Ten Commandments with President Xi Jinping quotes amid pressure from the government, a human rights magazine has revealed. Bitter Winter reports that the Ten Commandments have been removed from nearly every Three-Self church and meeting venue in a county of Luoyang city and replaced with the president’s quotes as part of the Chinese Communist Party’s efforts to “sinicize” Christianity. The Biblical commandments given to Moses, which include “You shall have no other gods before Me” and “You shall not make for yourself a carved image,” have been replaced with Xi Jinping quotes, including excerpts from his speech at a Central United Front Work Department working meeting in 2015 “The core socialist values and Chinese culture will help to immerse various religions of China,” he said. “Support religious community in interpreting religious thought, doctrines, and teachings in a way that conforms with the needs of the progress of the times. Resolutely guard against the infiltration of Western ideology, and consciously resist the influence of extremist thought.” Because disobeying the orders is seen as opposing the Communist Party, some Three-Self churches have been shut down for not implementing the rule, while other congregations have been threatened to be blacklisted by the government, an anonymous source told the magazine. A pastor from a state-run Protestant church told Bitter Winter that the CCP is methodically destroying Three-Self churches by eroding the Christian doctrine. “The government’s first step is to prohibit religious couplets. Then it dismantles crosses and starts to implement the ‘four requirements’ by ordering the national flag and ‘core socialist values’ to be placed in churches,” the pastor said. “Surveillance cameras to monitor believers and religious activities are then installed. The last step is to replace the Ten Commandments with Xi Jinping quotes.” “The Communist Party’s ultimate goal is to ‘become God.’ This is what the devil has always done,” he added. Another believer told Bitter Winter that Christians have “no freedom at all,” adding: “China is a one-party dictatorship. People are only allowed to obey the Communist Party and be controlled by it.” This is not the first time the CCP has demanded the removal of the Ten Commandments: In November, officials ordered a Three-Self church in Luoyang county to take down the Biblical script because Xi “opposes the statement,” referring to the first commandment. “Who dares not to cooperate? If anyone doesn’t agree, they are fighting against the country,” the official warned. “This is a national policy. You should have a clear understanding of the situation. Don’t go against the government.” click to continue Source: https://www.talkingchristianityng.com/2019/09/17/xi-jinping-quotes-replace-ten-commandments-in-chinese-churches/ |
Evangelist Benny Hinn says in a new interview that he began changing his views on the prosperity gospel several years ago and was “troubled” by the number of people it negatively affected. He also says his recent viral comments – where he disavowed the prosperity gospel – weren’t his first public comments on the subject. “What I said a few days ago, I have said before, but nobody seemed to hear it,” Hinn told David Diga Hernandez in a new interview. A clip showing Hinn renouncing the prosperity gospel went viral this month, as Christian Headlines previously reported. “This is nothing new in my heart,” Hinn told Hernandez. “This has been going on for two years, maybe more. The Lord has been dealing with me personally … As we grow, we see things differently.” Hinn was impacted, he said, by the testimonies of people who heard his previous messages and told him they never received the promised blessing – such as a “100-fold return” on a monetary gift. “I've had people come to me and say, ‘Please, don't say it again. It's not working in my life.’ And you know, sometimes you dismiss it,” he said. “Other times, you just don't know what to say or do. But it has damaged a lot of people.” click to continue reading: https://www.talkingchristianityng.com/2019/09/14/hinn-says-in-new-interview-that-prosperity-gospel-has-damaged-a-lot-of-people/

Prosperity gospel: Declaring that the “Holy Ghost is just fed up with it,” controversial televangelist Benny Hinn. He was formerly one of the most aggressive proponents of the prosperity gospel. Benny Hinn has for the first time in his career, delivered a full-throated rejection of the practice that made him and his family millions. The prosperity gospel teaches, among other things, that believers have a right to the blessings of health and wealth. And that they can obtain these blessings through positive confessions of faith and the “sowing of seeds”. This however, is through the faithful payments of tithes and offerings. Speaking to his followers during a Facebook Live broadcast on Monday night (which was first highlighted by Larry Reid Live), Hinn, who has long been a lightning rod for criticism for his support of the theology, declared the Gospel “is not for sale.” “I’m sorry to say that prosperity has gone a little crazy and I’m correcting my own theology and you need to all know it. Because when I read the Bible now, I don’t see the Bible in the same eyes I saw 20 years ago,” Hinn said as his followers rejoiced. “I think it’s an offense to the Lord, it’s an offense to say give $1,000. I think it’s an offense to the Holy Spirit to place a price on the Gospel. I’m done with it. I will never again ask you to give $1,000 or whatever amount. Because I think the Holy Ghost is just fed up with it. “Did you hear me?” Hinn asked as his audience responded affirmatively in high spirits. “I think it hurts the Gospel, so I’m making this statement for the first time in my life. And frankly, I don’t care what people think about me anymore,” he continued. “When they invite me to telethons I think they will not like me anymore. Because when you look at the word of God … if I hear one more time, break the back of debt with $1,000, I’m gonna rebuke them. I think that’s buying the Gospel. That’s buying the blessing. That’s grieving the Holy Spirit. … If you are not giving because you love Jesus, don’t bother giving,” Hinn argued. “I think giving has become such a gimmick; it’s making me sick to my stomach.” Hinn’s outright rejection of the prosperity gospel comes just two months after his nephew, Costi Hinn, revealed in his new book, God, Greed, and the (Prosperity) Gospel: How Truth Overwhelms a Life Built on Lies, how his family exploited millions around the world with the prosperity gospel. And often traded so-called miracles for money. “Giving to God was the secret to unlocking your dreams,” Costi Hinn wrote. “It was the secret to job promotions. It was access to our divine bank account. My uncle often told the story of how he got out of debt using this system of belief. His father-in-law had told him that in order to be debt free, he needed to pay God. Benny explained that once he started emptying his bank account and giving money away to ministry, money started showing up from everywhere!” Click on the link below to continue reading https://www.talkingchristianityng.com/2019/09/06/prosperity-gospel-benny-hinn/ |
''REMEMBERING NWAYEREUWA, NWANNEDIA, IKONNIA & NWUGO. I’m sure 90% of Africans, Nigerians and mainly people of Igbo origin who read the headline of this post will be like who the hell are these people? Yes we wouldn’t know them because we’ve been busy learning about their Mother Theresa and the fraudulent story of Mary Slessor. On this day 90yrs ago, in the morning of November 18th 1929, a man called Emereuwa upon the directive of his boss Okugo the warrant chief, walked into the compound of a widow called Nwanyereuwa, ordered her for a census of all her livestock and household. The widow Nwanyereuwa knowing the census will determined how much she will be taxed by the British colonial government, embittered, shouted on Emereuwa “was your widowed mother at home counted?” An angry exchange ensued. Nwanyereuwa resentfully rushed down to the town and market square, consulted other disgruntled women, They with palm fronds quickly mobilised other women. And that marked the beginning of one of the greatest resistance, rebellion and uprising the British imperial colonial rule ever faced in Nigeria and Africa in general, Called “#The_Aba_Womens_Riot” otherwise known as “#The_women_who_went_to_war” While the men were subdued, while the man died in the men in the face of oppression and tyranny of colonialism. The women stepped up and in. Record has it that over ten thousand women were involved in this revolt, and about 50 women lost their lives in the war/riot. This resistance was orchestrated by ; 1) Persuasive #Ikonnia 2) Intelligent #Nwannedia 3) Passionate #Nwugo & 4) Wise, Counselling and strategic #Nwanyereuwa these were the women that led the Famous #Aba_Womens_Riot. Women from across Six ethnic groups were involved, the Igbos, Ibibio, Andoni, Ogoni, Bonny and Opobo Hundreds of British colonial courts were burnt down and destroyed, hundreds of warrant chiefs were ostracised and banished. On the aftermath of the revolt, the British were forced to abandon the proposed plans to impose tax on the market women, powers of the warrant chiefs were considerably curbed and more robust room was created for women’s inclusiveness in the grand scheme of things. The Aba women’s riot was on the scale never seen before. It prompted, encouraged and inspired subsequent agitations like; 1) The Tax protest of 1938 2) The Owerri & Calabar oil mill protest of the 1940s 3) The Onitsha Aba Tax revolt of 1956 Then consequently the Nigeria independence in 1960. But unfortunately sad, when you drive through Aba today, you will see Faulks road, in owerri you will see Wetheral Road and Douglas road all of them are colonial relics. Imo state government house is called Douglas house, named after Harold Morday Douglas, a brutal British colonial district commissioner who orchestrated the Ahiara expedition of 1905 that saw villages wiped out. Today one deranged governor of Imo State is busy moulding status of Ellen Johnson Sirleaf of Liberia and Jacob Zuma of South Africa , that has no connection or historical relevance to the people of Imo State. We’ve seen streets, roads, government buildings and and schools named after strangers, monuments raised for people of little or no importance to our history and future. But the real heroes, heroins and legends have been relegated to obscurity, sent to oblivion in a complete sheer and crass negligence. I hope that one day, the Igbos, Ibibios, Andonis, Ogonis, Opobos and Bonnis will have a leadership that will remember these women, the fifty that lost their lives and all that paid the ultimate price, immortalise them. I hope one day I shall see Nwanyereuwa road, Ikonnia hospital, Nwannedia secondary school and Nwugo shopping plaza. I hope to see us name our children after these legendary women and mothers and tell them the story. Today 27th August 2019, I remember the women who didn’t only fight against an oppressive British colonial rule, but also had to fight their own men (Warrant chiefs) who chose the side of the Oppressor because of crumbs that fall from the table of masser. Aba women’s riot, the women who went to war. We remember.'' Written by Mazi Uba Acho.

Israel has launched a communications satellite into space that will give Africa digital service access. According to CBN News, Israel’s Spacecom launched the satellite, dubbed “Amos-17,” into orbit from the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station on Tuesday. “AMOS-17 places us directly into the exciting growth of Africa’s Sub-Saharan vibrant markets”. Pollack said in a statement after the launch. “As a leading multi-regional satellite operator, Spacecom is introducing the most advance technological satellite with HTS beams to service Africa. This is where AMOS-17 will deliver a large selection of services to a variety of broadcast, broadband and telecom clients.” Amos-17 is expected to stay over Africa and provide television, internet and phone services for 20 years. Israeli President Reuven Rivlin called the satellite and launch “important work,” the Jerusalem Post reports. “A proud morning, with the news of the successful launch of the Amos 17 satellite. Thank you and congratulations to our friends at @AMOSSpacecom and @SpaceX for their important work on behalf of the State of Israel,” he tweeted. Eating In Dream: Eating in dream is one of the doctrines that have evolved in Christianity in this part of the world. There have been many interpretations given to the act of eating in dream. According to some of the interpretations eating is dream signifies that the person in the act is into witchcraft. Another one has it that eating in dream means bad luck. However, we need to ascertain if the doctrine of eating in dream is right or wrong. And if by virtue of thorough investigation from the scripture, this doctrine is unfounded, it implies that it is false. In the Old Testament and even in few occasions in the New Testament, God communicated to certain individuals through dreams. Let’s see what the book of Hebrews have for us in this regard. “God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;” Hebrews 1:1-2 From the verses above we can ascertain that God spoke to the prophets of Old in divers manners. And dream is among these divers manners. Many prophets of Old had dreams and many of them had the gift of interpretation of dreams. So God spoke to prophets like Daniel through their dreams. Let’s see the quotation below. “In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel had a dream and visions of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream, and told the sum of the matters.” Daniel 7:1 If dreams are rightly interpreted, their meaning and result is ascertainable. Like in the days of Daniel, he had dreams and gave them the right interpretation. Also many Kings during his days had dreams and by him the interpretations were made known. Therefore, dream was one of the divers ways God spoke to the prophets of Old. In Hebrews 1:2, we have a statement that we should not ignore and that is as stated below. “Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;” Hebrews 1:2 The verse above states that God has in these last days spoken to us by (in) His Son. This shows that the last person that heard from God is His Son and it means that His Son had the last message. So whatever the Son says overrules whatever that has been said by the prophets. Jesus speaking about the messages of the prophets said that; “And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.” Luke 24:27 click the link below to continue reading https://www.talkingchristianityng.com/2019/08/03/eating-in-the-dream-pastor-chukwuemeka-charles-asiegbu/ |
Christian Bloggers Who They Are: Christian bloggers are the bloggers that focuses their blogging on anything that has to do with Christianity. In this twenty first century, blogging has become a paramount branch of news dissemination. It is something Christians should not allow the opportunities that come with it to elude them. And as a matter fact, in revealing Christ to the world Christians have discovered that through blogging they can do much. As a result of this, many Christian bloggers have decided to get their hands dirty and be involved in blogging. The fact is that the secular world has used blogging as a medium in advancing their businesses and antics. This divulges how useful blogging can be in revealing Christ if harnessed properly by Christian bloggers. The expectation is that with the level of development in information technology, through blogging news will always be at the finger tips. This implies that the dissemination of Christian news, sermons and teaching materials through Christian bloggers blogs will go viral. Therefore, it is imperative to say that blogging should be a welcome development among Christians. And more so, it is expected that Christian bloggers should be encouraged by Christians. Another fact to consider about blogging is that it’s a by-product of internet and internet rules the world at the moment. Over ninety percent of youth population in the world (Christian youths inclusive) accesses whatever information they want from the internet. This makes blogging a vital tool in the hands of Christian bloggers to ingratiate Christ in the hearts of youths. Christian Bloggers Are Into Ministry: Therefore, blogging for Christian bloggers is not just a hobby or business outfit but a ministry. And of course this is what it is, Christian bloggers have chosen a part in blogging and it’s their ministry. And since, Christian bloggers do not take blogging as a meal ticket they have to face several challenges. Blogging is not something that is done without monetary involvement; at least you have to get a domain name. A domain name is not always free meaning you have to purchase it. And in order to make your blog look very attractive, you must get a good theme. Some themes are a put-off for many readers even if the contents of the blog are of high quality. So, getting a theme requires that you pay money. Another important thing to consider is how you can update your contents because blogging means you have to move with the trends. This means that Christian bloggers need many hands to be on deck in order to make their blogs viable. And these hands cannot work just like that; they need money as well because their time is committed. Therefore if any Christian blogger do not have money in order to push his blogging ministry forward the implication is that he might be out anytime. Christian Bloggers Are Different From Secular Bloggers: Christian blogging isn’t like secular blogging and because of this, Christians bloggers do not borrow leafs from the secular bloggers. Though bloggers, but they are two different entities and share virtually nothing in common. This is coming from the backdrop that what it takes to be a Christian blogger is very different from what it takes to be a secular blogger. This is a vital point every Christian blogger should grasp and not let go. Initially, I said for Christian bloggers, blogging is a ministry and therefore it should be fulfilled, see Colossians 4:17. And if blogging is a ministry to Christian bloggers it means that all Christian bloggers are minister in Christ. Also as ministers in Christ, they must be grounded in the knowledge of Christ. This is very important because whatever they put in their blog will be used as a yardstick to judge their knowledge in Christ. This is the main reason they should not post whatever that comes their way even if it’s about Christianity. Christian bloggers are ministers and the work of ministers in Christ is to promote Christ and not to demote Christ. Again, if it is not right for them to post whatever that comes their way even if it’s about Christianity on blog it means that secular things should be a no go area for them. This shows that Christian bloggers should not allow their blogs to be used to promote secular activities. Scriptural Knowledge Is Required: Therefore, every Christian blogger should be well equipped in the skill of writing and not just writing but writing quality write-ups. They should be skillful in writing articles that will promote Christ in the world even if the subject isn’t centered on Christ. This implies that Christian bloggers should be vast in the knowledge of the scripture in order to be able to do this. Also, being filled with the right knowledge of the scripture will help the Christian blogger to decipher what to post. See Acts 20:32, Colossians 1:9-10. However, writing is an enthusiastic activity especially to bloggers who understand their onus in what they do. Therefore, pushing pen or sitting behind one’s system is not seen as a bored activity. To them they enjoy doing it because they see creativity, adventure and mostly, impartation of knowledge. They understand that through their write-ups many will accept Christ into their lives and the result of that is salvation. This is why they are carefree about how much money they make but focus on the ministry. Christian bloggers are soul winners and they turn men to righteousness, see Proverbs 11:30, Daniel 12:3............ Right interpretation of the most popular prayer among Christians will enhance the understanding of those who prays it. And as well having the right interpretation of the content of this prayer will do great service to Christians. The reality is that a wider range of people who prays the so called Lord’s Prayer do not understand it and do not know why they pray it. And in the same vein many who are not praying cannot say for sure the reason for not praying it. Hence the cure to this unfortunate situation is putting in place a right interpretation of it. And by this, those who prays it will know if they should continue and those who do not will consider praying it or not. The Lord’s Prayer can be found in the gospels. It’s located in two out of the four gospels, namely Matthew and Luke. Let’s take from the gospel account of Matthew in the sixth chapter. "After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.” Matthew 6:9-1 However, before we decipher the account of Matthew to draw out the right interpretation, we should verify the account of Luke as well. The account and rendering of Luke states thus below; “And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples. And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. Give us day by day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.” Luke 11:1-4 It is very vivid from the Luke’s account and rendering that what prompted Jesus to teach His disciples these outlines of prayer was a request made by one of them. It shows that if the request was not made, Jesus probably wouldn’t have considered teaching them this outlines of prayer. Again another point to consider is the statement of one of his disciples which says “Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.” This is statement is very striking because in it we find out that the request was made because John has done so to his disciples. thinksquad:Yes the way it is a sin to wear clothes that have multiple colours and you have them in your closet! And in the same way it is a sin to build and live in a house that has balcony and you are living in them. Legalism in action. If not wearing these things can justify you, then you dont need Jesus to make your heaven! |
