thinksquad:Haha... and all your GOs are flying private jets which are more costlier than these things. Who is deceiving who? What I see is a legalistic man and someone who fail understand the scripture properly. Mind you no one has been justified by the law but by faith Galatians 2:16 and check out Colossians 2:20-21, no believer is under any physical ordinances. Also see Jesus teaching in the gospel said these in Matthew 15:16-20. Lastly, if actually not putting earrings and other beauty articles could make someone go to heaven there wouldnt be any need for Jesus to come and die. People can keep away from these things and make heaven. Jesus died for the sins of the world not material adornments. And the sin here is the sin of unbelief. If gold and silver are abomination the streets of heaven wouldnt have them and Solomon wouldnt have used them to beautify the temple of God. Mediate on these things and remain bless in Christ! |
awakmfon03:You didnt say anything because you neither there nor here! |
thinksquad:Please what is the whole truth? For your information if these things can take someone or a believer in Christ to hell then Christ died in vein. What corrupts a man is not what comes from outside him but what comes from within him. That one didnt put on ear rings doesnt mean that he or she is right within. |

Online learning - When it comes to education, online learning has become an increasingly popular choice for many students. Between the demands of family, work, and extracurricular activities, college and university students today are tasked with more than just earning a degree. Online classes provide the flexibility students need to juggle multiple commitments while furthering their education. Every year, distance education gains significant traction. According to a report from Digital Learning Compass, more than 6 million students took at least one online course in 2015. Representing more than a quarter (29.7 percent) of all higher education enrollments that year. These findings corroborate an earlier report from the Babson Survey Research Group. It found that the number of students taking online courses has consistently grown over the last 13 years. Overall, more than a quarter of higher education students (28 percent) are enrolled in at least one online course. In contrast, between 2012 and 2016, the total number of students studying strictly on a physical campus dropped by more than 1 million, or 6.4 percent. "No matter how much we think that there might be something slowing it down, it hasn't happened". This is according to Jeff Seaman, co-director of the Babson Survey Research Group and a co-author of the study. In light of these statistics, it’s clear that online learning isn’t going anywhere. And the future of higher education may lie with technology. With this in mind, here are five ways online learning prepares you for tomorrow. Online Learning Allow for Increased Instructor-Student Time and Could Save Money Oftentimes, online learning are cheaper than face-to-face classes. This is because it allows for an increased instructor-student time while delivering quality educational experiences at scale. When choosing a college or university, the cost is a significant factor for many students. In fact, a 2015 study from The Learning House, Inc. and Aslanian Market Research found that affordable tuition and fees were the most important decision-making factor, with almost half of students (45%) choosing the least expensive school. According to statistics, the total average cost of a traditional degree is $85,000. While the total average cost of an online degree is just $30,000.Because online students can study from home, they can avoid the room, board, and meal plan costs associated with living on campus. Additionally, distance learners avoid the transportation costs (parking and gas fees) that plague on-campus students. Online courses may also provide multiple methods of communicating with the instructor. This allows for greater one-on-one interaction. A recent study found that 97% of online institutions’ courses offer student/faculty ratios of 25:1 or better. The same study also found that 77% of educators believe that online learning is just as good as traditional learning. Nearly 70% of all students claim online instruction to be as good as or better than in a traditional setting. Online Learning Sets You Up for Success in the Workplace Online classes help prepare students for success in the 21st-century work environment. Succeeding in online classes requires motivation, accountability, and self-discipline — valuable skills that will easily transfer to the workplace. Because many students work full time and have family obligations. Therefore, they must demonstrate time management skills when it comes to succeeding in their online classes. Similarly, to get to the next level in one’s career, employees must be disciplined and able to effectively juggle their personal and professional lives. Taking an online course can also help students develop their writing and communication skills. Between sending emails, participating in discussion boards, and navigating social media, online learners inevitably become experts in effective, clear communication. Mastering respectful communication skills allows one to thrive in a professional work environment. Finally, online classes require multitasking. Between maintaining course reading, completing assignments, and participating in online discussion threads and emails, students are forced to master multiple duties at once. Likewise, effective multitasking is a common challenge in today’s workforce. Online Learning Allows Lifelong Learning Students expect to graduate into gainful employment, and in today’s competitive job market, lifelong learning is no longer an option. However, it is a requirement. Taking online courses help workers remain competitive and up-to-date with the latest advancements in their field without losing job. A recent study from the Pew Research Center found that 63% of those who are working (or 36% of all adults) identify as professional learners. This means they have taken a course or gotten additional training in the past 12 months to improve their job skills or expertise connected to career advancement. Overall, 65% say their learning in the past 12 months expanded their professional network. And 47% say their extra training helped them advance within their current company. Also 29% say it enabled them to find a new job with their current employer or a new one. Whereas 27% say it helped them consider a different career path. There’s no denying the internet is an important tool for many adults in the process of lifelong learning. Online courses provide an affordable, flexible way for employees to develop new skills and advance their careers. Benefits of Digital Books and Resources Due to advancements in technology, online learning and distance education is changing the way students absorb information. Dr. Mary Lowe, Associate Dean of Online Education at Liberty University’s Rawlings School of Divinity and co-author of Ecologies of Faith in a Digital Age: Spiritual Growth Through Online Education, points out that thanks to augmented reality. Online classes provide a new way for students to interface with the physical world. She writes: “Students are engaged in experiential learning in a way not previously imagined. Rather than reading about a specific period in church history, such as the Reformation. Augmented reality allows a learner to walk through Martin Luther's residence or travel with him to the Wartburg Castle. Biblical characters and events appear lifelike. Students in a nursing course could learn medical procedures with seemingly real bodies. Virtual characters projected onto a screen could become mentors for supervised field ministry courses.” To continue reading click source: https://www.talkingchristianityng.com/2019/07/11/online-learning-five-ways-it-prepares-a-believer-for-tomorrow/ |
See my reasons below! Obedient to God has been linked to material success or gain. It is overtly acceptable and teachable within the church circus and gathering that when one obeys God things unfolds better. So, much emphasis has been laid on obedience as a major factor in amassing material gains. Therefore, every believer who wants to prosper materially should obey God. Obedient to God leads to stress free prosperity. That’s anyone or believer that is obedient to God has acquired the ticket to prosperity and endless wealth. Once a believer does the will of God he becomes great, influential and enjoys great financial ascendency. Obedient To God In The Eyes Of Jesus Teaching: Let’s see from the teaching of Jesus in the gospels if this notion is right or not. kullozone:Thanks for conceding for the truth. This is the mission we want to correct all the wrong impressions people like you and those of them in the church have created about God. Have a nice day! |
kullozone:God did what? Hahaha - Well, in the Old Testament where you are making your judgment from, the revelation of God was partial even Satan revelation was also partial. So many things said about God in the Old Testament were just mere impressions and doesn't represent the exact nature of God. For your information the Old Testament wasn't mediated by God, this may surprise you but it's true. kullozone:Please be informed that God has not killed before and will never kill. The only thing that proceeded out of God is life. Death is not from God and will never come from Him. What people like you fail to understand is that God is not at the center of activities on this earth. This not God's world but Man's world. There ha been a misrepresentation of God even in the church but the truth is that God has revealed Himself perfectly that there is no way we should have the understanding of who God is in ambiguous or abstruse manner. In the scripture the exact knowledge of God has been made possible but laziness couldn't allow bible scholars to understand it. Mekanus:You walk within the paces and dictates of what you know. Your level of understanding as regards to any issue matters! The only way to learn is to open your heart and without prejudice you can always excel. The bible is not a book of fairy tales; it’s didactic in nature and of course needed the right and exact revelation to comprehend it. Yes, there’s nothing complicated about the bible, the only complication we have is the wrong interpretation coming from people who have myopic views about it. Many have seen the bible as a book that creates money for them. And some people like you have a put off and shouldn’t be blamed because this is one the wrong doctrinal applications we have coming from false teachers |
Mekanus:The problem you have is that you have not been taught rightly. Prayer dosent really mean talking to God, but a believer exercising his authority on earth. I want to say that whatever you are going through I went through them till i found the right way to interpret and understand the word of God. Most bible teachers if not all of them we have in this part of the world do not know the bible. |
Wrong prayers are those prayers that are prayed wrongly. The question therefore is how do we ascertain wrong prayers? However, we understand that all the prayer that Christians pray is channeled to God in the name of Jesus. But truly speaking not all the prayers that are prayed in Jesus’ name is accepted by God. In fact some prayers tingles God's ‘ear’, because they are not according to what prayers should be. Those prayers that are not in line with what prayer should be are the wrong prayers. Sometimes, these wrong prayers do receive answers and then many usually think that God answered them. The reason is that those wrong prayers are prayed in ‘Jesus name’. The fact is that not all prayers that are prayed in Jesus name are right. The name of Jesus is the authority that is given to every believer in Christ to pray. But when a believer prays wrong prayers the name of Jesus cannot authorize such prayers. See the verse below. "If any one turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination." Proverbs 28:9 This is simply because; the name of Jesus has its own limits in operation. The only thing that limits the potency of the name of Jesus is wrong prayers. Take for instance, if a believer prays that someone should die and he seals his prayer with the name of Jesus. This kind of prayer is wrong prayer because the name of Jesus cannot kill. The name Jesus means savior and as a result there’s no way savior will kill. What a savior does is to save. Somehow, unknowingly people who pray wrong prayers do not know that they have made themselves vessels to the enemy. And funny enough, they think and are satisfied that they are vessels unto God. This is why it is important that believers are taught how to pray because if they know they will pray rightly. Now, let’s see more of some wrong prayers and the misnomers attached them. When armed robbers pray and go for their operation. When they succeed, they believe that God answered their prayer. When the fraudsters pray for a successful execution of their plans and it works out fine for them, they believe that it is God who answered them. When the prostitute prays for more customers and more customers troop into her apartment for her "job", she is also convinced that God answered her prayer. Ignorantly, many continue in this way, thinking that God is in charge of what they are doing. It is not the hand of God, but the hand of the devil that is at work in all these ignoble situations. "In which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience" Ephesians 2:2. What transpires is that the man who prays these wrong prayers has his given authority for the devil to function with. The devil, who is the prince of the power of the air, picks up such prayers and answers them. When you pray that an evil thing should happen to someone and it happens, you are no longer a vessel unto God. This is because God prepares His vessels for good works as stated in Ephesians 2:10, and not for destruction. Even Jesus asked us to pray for our physical enemies according to Matthew 5:44. Some may ask, "Why would God allow such people to live?" Well, it is because He is a merciful God; as He really says; "For I have no pleasure in the death of any one, says the Lord God; so turn, and live" Ezekiel 18:32. Biblical injunction here simply means the validation or evaluation of this Buhari’s administration through the lens of the bible. There is this certainty that through biblical injunction a clear cut description that is platonic about this Buhari’s administration can be given. The good thing about this is that a description based on biblical injunction is void of hypocrisy. Though many may not be comfortable that biblical injunction is being used in assessing the performance of this Buhari’s administration. However, it is important to note that using biblical injunction will definitely enhance the knowledge of people about this administration. This will be more beneficial to the educated elites and Buhari’s Christian followers. And for sure we do know that Christians do better when knowledge has come and many of them lives in ignorance if knowledge is taken away from them. This biblical injunction therefore will do one thing that is very important to this government and its admirers. And that is, it will further ingratiate Buhari in the hearts of people or dismiss him from their hearts. It is obvious that where there is a group of people or a nation the need for leadership cannot be over accentuated. Therefore the value of leadership is the highest pedestal because the results and benefits of it mean much to the people. If it is positive the people are happy and when it speaks otherwise there is sorrow in the life of people. The book of Proverbs puts it this way: “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.” Proverbs 29:2 The implication of this is that the state of any nation or group of people is the reflection of the quality of leadership they have. So how great a nation appears is the interpretation of the minds of its leaders. And of course how lowly rated a nation appears is the level of the thinking faculty of the mind of its leaders. Therefore, it is important to authoritative say that a nation cannot grow bigger than the mindset of its leaders. This is because it is what the leaders have they empty inside the nation. That is whatever they have tickles down to the citizens. For instance, if the leader is wicked, wickedness flows from the top to the citizens. And if he is kindhearted, such flows from him down to the citizens. On the other hand if he is wise, wisdom flows from him to the citizens and if his mind is empty, emptiness in found in the hearts of his people. On this note, it is not wrong to say that the character of the citizens of any nation could be the reflection of the mind of their leaders. Just like a Nigerian adage says that ‘’one can’t break the neck without the head”. However, it is important to say that no great leader becomes great from what he sourced outside his nation. Whatever that will make a leader great is located inside his nation, the duty he has is to harness them. This means his greatness depends on how much insight he has about his subjects and natural deposits in his nation. Any leader who thinks that his subjects are worthless will never become great. And any leader who does not value the resources in his hand will not be great. Note this, if a leader is not great his people will not be great because the prestige of his people is in consonance with the proportion of his greatness. Please see nations like China, Germany, USA, Japan, North and South Korea, Britain, France and even Iran. Now let’s take this biblical injunction to assess this administration. The biblical injunction here is one of the parables of Jesus Christ. To continue reading follow this link: https://www.talkingchristianityng.com/2019/01/16/biblical-injunction/ |
oludyke:For a better understanding of the position of the writer, I suggest you go read the parts of this teaching. However, I hope you believe that God cannot change. That's He is the same always. Which means if he's a consuming fire yesterday, He's still going to be the same today and forever. Also I want you to explain these verses for me "For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:7-8 , To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. 2 Corinthians 5:19. You call the writer a false teacher, you that is not a false teacher tell me why God didn't consume people with his fire while they were still sinning? |
“For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.” (Deuteronomy 4:24) “For our God is a consuming fire.” (Hebrews 12:29) This is one of the frequent phrases or terminologies or better still rhymes that are use in the church nowadays. And in fact many have written books and articles about this term “For our God is a consuming fire.” Usually it has much to do with that kind of stern warning about misconducts against God’s stipulated rules and commands. It depicts the fact that misconducts and disobedience against God will definitely meet vehement and terrible anger of God. It’s an expression used to show how God is a mean God who does not condone lawlessness against His standard. This expression has been used to infer that the nature and disposition of God is that of an angry being. It shows that God is always furious at His creatures and He is very ready at all times to consume them with His fire. This is what one hears from preaches and sermons that have something to do with “For our God is a consuming fire.” The question to ask is this: Is God Really a Consuming Fire? Well, before one can answer this question, one has to understand that this statement for ‘our God is a consuming fire’ is a description. In other ways it describes the nature of God. That is to say if someone comes up to you and ask, who is God? You are right to tell him or her that God is a consuming fire. This is because the statement ‘for our God is consuming fire’ is very direct and emphatic. This result is obtainable when one weighs it with the preaching, teaching and sermons that accompany it. Apparently, what this description suggests is that God is dreadful. Since He’s a consuming fire and we know the nature of fire. Consuming fire is something that if it catches on any item it will not quench without devouring it. So consuming fire is a symbol or a representation of destruction. This is to say that; whenever consuming fire is mention what comes to mind is destruction or that something has been destroyed. If we interpolate the word consuming fire to destruction in the phrase, we will have something like this “For our God is destruction”. I don’t think anybody in his or her right mind will ever like to associate with someone with this kind of description. This is because is very repulsive and a put off for one to accommodate. Certainly, this is not a marketable description; it cannot sale God into the hearts of people. The only thing this description will succeed to do in the heart of people is to instill fear. The truth is that if they believe in God, it is on the premise of fear and not on faith. And for sure anything that is not of faith cannot please God. This statement therefore indicates that the only right way to accept God is by faith not by fear. Now, let’s do some studies on these verses: the first time this phrase appear in the bible is in Deuteronomy. “For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.” (Deuteronomy 4:24). This shows that it was Moses that used this description or tag on God. On the other hand, what is in the book of Hebrews is a reference in connection to what is being explained. “For our God is a consuming fire.” (Hebrews 12:29). However, before we go further, firstly we should understand why Moses used this phrase and by studying it in content, pretest and posttest. So let’s see what the verse before it says: “Take heed unto yourselves, lest ye forget the covenant of the LORD your God, which he made with you, and make you a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, which the LORD thy God hath forbidden thee.” (Deuteronomy 4:23) Also let’s see what the verse after it says: “When thou shalt beget children, and children’s children, and ye shall have remained long in the land, and shall corrupt yourselves, and make a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, and shall do evil in the sight of the LORD thy God, to provoke him to anger.” (Deuteronomy 4:25). Here, we shouldn’t veer from the point, let’s focus on the subject matter which is graven image. So the subject of these verses is graven image. And it has to do with forgetting a covenant of God. So, the consuming fire can only be made possible if the covenant is forgotten and a graven image replaces God. Inasmuch as the covenant is kept, there will be no consuming fire. Does consuming fire here describe God? The answer is no. This is because the consuming fire here represents a standard not God. Again is important for us to understand that the Old Testament is written in an imagery and typographic method. The imagery and typographic expressions are of course not exact but shallow in formation. This explains the usage of fire to represent the consequence of disobedience to a standard of God. chiommy123:You really make sense |
Ultimately, the goal of some people if not all men is to look up to God as their last resort when it comes to meeting their needs. So it becomes the responsibility of God to meet needs especially those ones they feel it is not within their reach to meet. And to the best of their knowledge all they need to do for God to meet these needs is just to find a way to inspire God and He will meet these needs. Therefore, it is not out place to find people in Christian settings using some clichés or statements like, let’s fast and pray or cry to God so that He will hear our cry and answer us. Or something like let’s sing praises and worship so that the glory of God will come and He will meet all our needs. Also we hear something like let’s carry out one service or the other in the house of God and be involved in one ministry department or the other so that God can be moved to meet a particular need in our lives. We can as well hear statements like “you know why God is blessing my business is because I pay my tithe and offering and I give arms to the poor.” And yet some will say something like “in that situation I challenged God and I reminded God that I pay my tithe therefore, there is no way I should lose this or that in the hand of the enemy.” Also, we hear things like, let’s sing praises and worship to God so that he can become happy and then solve our problems. The questions are, can we really cajole or bribe God (with our activities, monies, singings etc) before He can be moved to do something in our lives? When we receive answers to our prayers does it mean that God is reciprocating to our serious prayer life gestures? Can we really make God happy or sad; I mean can God be remote controlled? Again, is God such an unstable being that can be directed and redirected in any direction by human being? Is God that emotional that He hears us only when we have cried to Him? Therefore, can God change His deposition or nature? The last but not the least; who benefits from the songs we sing in the church, God or the singers? The truth is that, if our answers to the questions above are positive and yes it means that though we go to Church and worship God we don’t know God and we are yet to understand His nature. It is common thing in our society to find people in every stratum keenly asking this question of God’s whereabouts. The statement has been, “if there is God, where is He?” To them, inasmuch as God is not visible to unclad eyes, there is no point saying that He exists. This factor of invisibility has become a hard nut for many to crack. For this reason many who would have liked to believe in God decided to think otherwise. The attention has been placed on a kind of God that is visible, and can be located and reached to ask some questions. People have always wanted a kind of God that they can pay visit anytime they desire and probably have some cups of tea with, thereafter lay their needs and frustration on Him. And perhaps, they have wanted a kind of God that they will reach out to and ask Him to teach them how He made this world, so that they will start creating their own world. It is unbelievable that someone made this magnificent world and He’s nowhere to be found, at least He should appear once in a while so that people can count on Him and be very careful in most things they get themselves involved. At least if God is visible many will not like to go contrary to His will. At least they will fear Him because they have seen how big He is, even a little of his finger can cut their life off. For this reason they want a God they will see physically and fright about because He is seen with unclad eyes. There are yet many who have wanted a God that they can reach out to and demand His assistance in destroying their enemies with all alacrity. And so it is that if this kind of God that people have created according to their thoughts doesn’t exist, it means that there is no God. Many have argued that it is stupid to believe in somebody that you cannot see. Well, to them it is an awkward situation to be. It is so much a stroppy situation for man, mainly who is always miserable and vulnerable to so many harsh and smothering conditions and needed a God that is always handy but couldn’t find Him. They want to see Him so that they can question Him why He created them and put them in such a situation that is terrible, I mean a world that is horrific. For this reason they are repelled when the name ‘God’ is mentioned because He cannot be exculpated from the situation they find themselves in this world. Yet we see many who are working assiduously, campaigning and making it known to people that God exists though they have not seen Him with their unclad eyes. “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” John 21:29 NKJV The issue is this, why would these people believe that there is God and He does exist without seeing Him with their unclad eyes? And again, why would people take up the option of dying because of their belief in God and His existence if there is no inner conviction? For these reasons, I think that it is important to verify their stance in this matter. To this category of people, the invisibility of God doesn’t matter, because to them it is an impious proof that God does not exist. The invisibility of God cannot be the yardstick to ascertain the existence of God, because there are lots of things that the unclad eyes cannot perceive, but their existence has been confirmed by their activities. Even as human beings there are times we existed but do not know that we did. Existence began to have impact in the life of human beings when they come off age of recognizing things and remembering events that happen around them. Children that are in between the ages of 1–3yrs cannot emphatically say what happens around them, though they existed but because their sense faculties have not developed. It takes another person who is matured to narrate to the children what happened during their infancy days. US: Fifteen year old Boy Dies After his Nigerian Parents Subject Him to 40-Day Fast Seeking God's Blessing A Wisconsin couple whose 15-year-old son died after they forced him to join a 40-day fast in search of a blessing from God could now spend the next 25 years in prison for their negligence. The Reedsburg Police Department in Wisconsin said in a statement Monday that Kehinde S. Omosebi, 49, walked into the department at about 4 p.m. Sunday to report the death of his son, Ayanfe O. Omosebi. When police got to the family home, which was padlocked from the inside, they found Ayanfe's emaciated corpse. His 11-year-old brother who was also emaciated was found alive along with his mother Titilayno A. Omosebi, 48. A criminal complaint cited by WMTV said the couple's home had no food inside and only had one bedroom with a bed and another room with four metal chairs placed in a square form. Kehinde Omosebi told police the family started a 40-day fast on July 19, only drinking water so they could get blessings from God to move to Atlanta. He told police he was a minister affiliated with the Cornerstone Reformation Ministries. Sonny Hyde, pastor of the Cornerstone Ministry Baptist Church in Reedsburg, told the Wisconsin State Journal that the family was not affiliated with his church, and that he had never heard of Cornerstone Reformation Ministries in the community. "We're certainly praying for the other child," he said. Reedsburg Police Chief Tim Becker said while he was aware of religious fasting, he had never heard of a fast that long. "I am not aware of a fast that long. I am aware of religious fasting but not familiar with kids doing it and doing it to a point where your health is compromised," he said. Authorities say the deceased teenager wrote a letter to "Lawyers of Sauk County Circuit Court" complaining about the hunger he experienced during the fast and expressed fears about his eventual death. "The hunger is too much. Please help me now so I may eat," the teenager wrote in the letter. "I can't continue in such a life with no food ... If I don't get food now I'll probably die of hunger." The criminal complaint said the mother and children were found clenching religious material. "It doesn't really matter the size of the city you are, it's a terrible thing when a child loses their life under these types of circumstances involving the people he trusts the most," Becker said. Kehinde Omosebi told authorities Ayanfe had died on Friday. His wife and 11-year old son were taken to Reedsburg Area Medical Center for treatment but Titilayno refused treatment citing religious restrictions. The 11-year old was taken into protective custody. The couple have since been charged with Neglecting a Child Causing Death and Neglecting a Child Causing Great Bodily Harm. Doug Knuth, who lived next door to the Omosebi family for about eight months, said he does not recall ever seeing them. Reports say they were behind on rent payments. A federal appeals court protected religion in the public square yesterday, rejecting an attempt to strip the national motto "In God We Trust" from U.S. coins and bills. New Doe Child # 1 v. The Congress of the United States is atheist activist Dr. Michael Newdow's most recent loss in a string of cases trying to remove any mention of God in government. Crucial to the Eighth Circuit's decision was its adoption of Becket's argument that under a 2014 Supreme Court case, all Establishment Clause rulings must now align with U.S. history on religion in the public square. Becket uniquely raised this argument in a friend-of-the-court brief, after the federal government failed to do so. (Photo Credit: LifeSiteNews) The court found that the U.S. Supreme Court's 2014 decision in Town of Greece v. Galloway "offered an unequivocal directive: 'The Establishment Clause must be interpreted by reference to historical practices and understandings." The court recognized that Galloway was "'a major doctrinal shift' in Establishment Clause jurisprudence," one that overrules past case law that would threaten "Government acknowledgments of religions," such as the National Motto. Previous cases had abandoned objective historical analysis for free-floating judicial tests that led to absurd results. "The good news is you no longer need to be afraid that the pennies in your pocket are gateway drugs to theocracy," said Diana Verm, counsel at Becket. "The Court was right to say that the First Amendment does not ban 'In God We Trust.' For too long, the country has been stuck in what Justice Gorsuch once described as 'Establishment Clause purgatory.' The court's decision today is a huge step towards setting things right. Newdow's lawsuits have long been fueled by the Lemon test, a notorious legal test that ignores what the Founders considered to be an establishment of religion and invites anti-religious activists to file lawsuits against anything that looks vaguely religious. Lemon has been much reviled by justices, judges, and legal experts for its incoherence and invited hostility toward religion. The Supreme Court's landmark Galloway decision implicitly rejected Lemon and replaced it with an objective evaluation of our nation's history. A group of atheists in Kenya are pleading for their own national holiday in which they can proclaim that God does not exist and hold "godless parades." The Atheists in Kenya Society released a statement Monday in which they demanded that the government declare Feb. 17 as "Atheist Day." "There is no shortage of religious holidays celebrated every year in Kenya. Christmas, Eid ul-Fitr, Diwali, Eid al-Adha, Easter and Ramadan are just but a few," Atheists in Kenya Vice President Daisy Siongok said in the statement. "Kenyans who do not believe in god or gods deserve a public holiday too." Siongok asserted that the fact that atheists only comprise about five percent of Kenya's population is no reason to exclude them from having a national holiday of their own. Specifically, the group is calling on Fred Matiang'i, Kenya's cabinet secretary for interior ministry, to formally make the atheist day designation. As most religious holidays carry with them some sort of significance within the respective religions, the purpose of Atheist Day would be to commemorate the date that the Atheists in Kenya Society officially registered with the government. The group was launched on Feb. 17, 2016. "We will use the occasion to show our lack of faith in Gods, by holding Godless Parades in various Countries and also to increase awareness about atheism in Kenya," Songok stated. "We believe that this will promote freedom of religion as a human right in Kenya and a strategic national interest, in line with Article 27 of Kenya's Constitution." Some Christians recently protested against a giant Satanic Temple statue unveiled at the Arkansas State Capitol, holding Bible verse messages against a Satanic rally. CBS News reported that in total 150 people, both Satanists and Christians, were present at the unveiling of the Satanic statue of a goat-headed, winged creature called Baphomet at the state capitol last Thursday. The Satanic Temple organized what it called a First Amendment rally, insisting that since the capitol allows a monument of the Ten Commandments to stand on its grounds, so should their symbol be allowed as well. "If you're going to have one religious monument up then it should be open to others and if you don't agree with that then let's just not have any at all," argued Satanic Arkansas co-founder Ivy Forrester. Let’s examine the word righteousness under the two Testaments and find out its standing in both Testaments. Righteousness in the Old Testament is regarded as the righteousness of the Law, which implies that it is righteousness obtainable by observing or keeping the law. So one is declared righteous based on his ability to keep the entire laws and as the system stipulates one is required to keep all and a failure to keep one means a failure to keep all (James 2:10, 4:17). In that case, the righteousness of the law is regarded as “the doing righteousness” (Romans 10:5) and as a matter of fact no one under the face of this sun was able to keep those laws at the same time until Jesus Christ came and became the end to the law (Romans 10:4). He became the end to the law in that He came and fulfill the requirements of the law for us and in us (Matthew 5:17 – 18, John 19:30, Romans 8:4). Obviously, this kind of righteousness is placing a demand on people who do not have the ability to fulfill the laws hence the massive flaws in the system (Exodus 19:5). Instead of a blessing it became a heavy load on the side of the people (Acts 15:7 – 10), what was meant to produce right standing in the life of the people became a means for hypocrisy. One time, a certain fellow came to Jesus and asked rhetorically “Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? And Jesus listed out to him the things contained in the laws and he was proud to claim his mastery ability in observing them. Then Jesus said to him “Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.” (Luke 18:22). This shows that those who practice the laws always lack one thing and in the case of this young man, his response to this statement shows that he does not love his neighbours though he claimed to love them. No one under the conduct of the laws was able to keep them and as a result of that, people were kept far away from God. The stiffness of the demands of the law made the people to become debtors before God (Romans 4:4). Because they depended on their effort to accomplish the requirements of the law, but the more they try harder in their effort, the more they find out that they are bankrupt and in fact needed help, because of the weakness in their flesh. Recent data reveals that for the first time, Africa is now home to the most number of Christians in the world. Latin America held that title previously. An infographic provided by the Center for the Study of Global Christianity at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary shows that more than 631 million Christians currently reside in Africa and they make up 45 percent of the population. Latin America is, meanwhile, estimated to have 601 million Christians. Though a smaller number compared to Africa, they make up the majority of the continent at 92 percent. According to CBS News, Zambia is the African nation with the highest percentage of Christian residents, with around 95.5 percent of the people living there following the religion. Following not too far behind Zambia on the list of African nations with the highest percentage of Christian residents is the Republic of Seychelles, where 94.7 percent hold Christian beliefs.
