We do good to people not because they deserve it but cause it is the right thing from God's standpoint. Two yrs ago my landlady was the usual wicked, catankerous and greedy,no husband edo woman. So evil was she that her children avoided her.She fell into a coma, my neighbour and i were the ones who attended to her and took her to the clinic in the dead of the night. When she got well a few weeks later, she thanked us, prayed for us but never changed.I have left there but my neighbour said he has had to rush her to the hospital a few times more. Now he controls the house rentals and he is not under pressure as b4.People have there attitudes,God blesses us for doing the good to him not minding the attitude of the person concerned. |
i dont just get it.why do the fellows in Ekiti choose this uncouth, rash, undisciplined, uncultured fellow? Ekiti citizens are allegedly well educated, why can they not seen beyond their noses? In nearby osun where the people are not as high profile and literate as Ekiti u cant shortchange them politically they are smart.u cant pool the wool over their eyes, despite the amount of money omisore spent, he was booted out. things are hard for virtually every one in Nigeria but generally people can spot mediocrity, brigandage. Are Ekiti citizens hungrier than the rest of nigeria so much so they are proud of this internationally renowned asshole.pls I really need guys from Ekiti to explain it to me.I really want to understand |
just4fun:And that is where guys like u get it all wrong.God has given us all the criteria we need to determine right from wrong, truth from falsehood. EPH 5:10-11 says:'Keep on making sure of what is acceptable to the Lord; 11 and stop sharing in the unfruitful works that belong to the darkness; rather, expose them for what they are.' So it is possible for us to know those who are acceptable to the lord. This concept that you do not attack a so called man of God and that only God knows who is a true man of God, is largely responsible for the larger than life image of these pastors and confusion on the part of the churchgoer. Many persons have witnessed pastors involved in unbelievable wrong things and teaching false concepts(example masturbation is not a sin, what else could be farther from the truth) and continue to believe them. For the sake of our eternal salvation let us be more watchful. When God condemns finally these false teachers, those who associate with them will not be spared....FOOD FOR THOUGHT |
emusmith:Unfortunately many dont know that the Bible does not teach hellfire as punishment for the wicked. The two aspects actually compliment each other. The truth is God loves us but he does not tolerate wrong and those who do not repent will be destroyed at the end of the world. The two messages should be preached side by side. You do not need to intimidate people to accept the message of God. I recall in secondary school we were forced to watch Burning hell, naturally we were scared but eventually it did not stop those who wanted to do bad. Lesson:You cannot convert majority. So do ur part and leave people to make their choice.PRONTO |
[quote author=eistien post=31311578]Some women are so naïve and gullible. It surprises me that some women will fall to the lies of these perverted men in the guise of pastors or prophets. **shakes his head in disbelief**[/quote It is the same naivety and gullibility you and others display when a so called man of God scams u of ur money in the name of sowing a seed and giving to God.As long as worshippers continue to 1. Overhype the importance of pastors and church leaders 2. Find it difficult to read the Bible on their own and find out what the bible says without recourse to any pastor, cases like this will continue.PRONTO |
Coldfeet:Your skepticism is understood cos it has not happened to you or someone close to you.But it is a stark reality. As a few nairalanders have correctly observed, this occurs mostly with the members of the new gen churches. I have had cause to interact with them and they usually choose employees on religious basis, not only on issue of tithing but once u dont share the near fanatical ideas they have you dont get the job.Dont know the kind of indoctrination they receive. |
Tinyemeka:You took the words out of my mouth bro. Please share the links man. |
Interesting that people are waking up and realizing what has been obvious for a long time. Nevertheless there are true christians and u can find them only if you are ready to do away with preconceived notions and face the cold but nevertheless true facts. simply check www.jw.org |
All of this brings back wonderful memories.Had my share of fun and unbelievable frivolities.Below are some i can recall *washing my school uniform late in the nite and using the fan to dry throughout d nite *playing table soccer with bottle cap (canter).i used up the candles in the house to fill the caps to make my defenders strong.when mum asks what happened to the candles, i would keep quiet *sneak up to our dog while its sleeping and hits its genitals. It would wake up angry and run after me.Almost bit me.Also played football with our dog named oscar. dog was smart and learned how to defend and score. *fan of stoning lizards. we particularly liked the jan kai (hausa word for red head) *fishing in a little stream close to my house using old baskets. we usually blocked both ends of stream and then drive the fishes into the baskets.used the fishes for our personal aquarium, usually the fished died cause we were using tap water.I will never forget the day one of my friends felt he had got something heavy and he started shouting na kama, na kama(i have caught, i have caught).we all rushed with excitement to see what we had an lo and behold it was a confused back shinning snake. we all took to our heels, by the time we got our elder brothers to come, snake was gone.we left off fishing for a while. *my mum reared some goats in our compound. my brother and i forcefully rode the goats as our own horse race.Needless to say the goats almost gored us *driving our little baby in the pram.i turned the baby pram into a high speed vehicle in the compound when mom was not looking. The pram had brake for the back wheels.i would push the pram fast and then lock the brakes suddenly and the pram would screech and leave skid marks on the ground.Interestingly the baby loved it and would be giggling all thru. *still with the baby, i loved eating the baby food (nutrend). When mom left baby at home and instructed me:put 3 spoons of nutrend into feeding bottle, i would give baby 3 spoons and 2 spoon fuls into my mouth. When mom would ask why is it finished so soon, put the blame on baby. *my neighbours and my brother and i playing water spray when we came back from school. We connected water hoses to the tap and climbed the fence separating our houses and sprayed each other with water leaving everywhere wet.Luckily the sun would dry everything before our parents got back. *playing monkey post (form of football) with friends and neighbours |
kosovo:I thought i was the only one.I have always told my family & friends we all Know that PDP and Jonathan are all a fraud and that Nigerian want a Change but the incumbency factor will destabilize all the gains of APC. Am so sure i have made a bet of my entire one month salary with my family. The entire stake is about 500,000.If u are confident enough join in. |
Thanks for the post.Despite the fact that this abnormalies are very evident, people generally need them to be brought right in front of their noses before they can see them.Any one who does not realize that a lot of things are seriously wrong with the way Christianity is practiced is in big trouble. It means any of the following dangerous possibilities applies to you: 1. You are not observant enough. 2. You do not know the standards set out in the Bible(He who knows nothing doubts nothing) 3 You are guilty yourself of many things mentioned in the report above and u love worldliness 4. You are loyal to a church or pastor and not to Bible Principles 5. You do not have an open mind CONCLUSION-EPH 5:10 should be ur watchword-''KEEP ON MAKING SURE OF WHAT IS ACCEPTABLE TO THE LORD''.Both back then and now if what goes on in so called christian groups were all OK with God, will he tell us in the Bible to make sure or verify to make sure what we are doing is acceptable? Does it not also mean that many things done in Christianity is not acceptable to God but may be acceptable in a particular church? SHINE YOUR EYES |
My greatest source of mystery remains the people who continue to worship there as if they are under 'EDI' (spell). One of the members , my colleague is an intelligent fellow, nevertheless in the face of all the obvious hulabaloo surrounding the church, he still defends the pastor. Whatever the man is using is really working for him. I feel real pity for these guys. Are his members not on nairaland. Will u not speak out in support of ur leader or should i say demigod? |
What further proof do people need that these church leaders are false prophets especially that of winners and Redeemers? The ancient prophets of God never mixed with oppressive governments, they always delivered scathing judgements to leaders that were corrupt or who oppressed their people.I have listened to both sides of arguments on several media platforms with an unbiased outlook and the conclusion is very simple:GMB and his party are not perfect, they have their baggages and some skeletons in their cupboard as we all do. But it pales in comparison with the wanton and undisguised corruption and wickedness of GEJ and the PDP. Those guys are not interested in you and i, they simply want to perpetuate themselves in office. Most ordinary Nigerian who might not be religious know this and so it is totally saddening that not one or two but several church leaders are endorsing GEJ.Almighty God and Jesus must be close to weeping in heaven. However the time for all this false church leaders is almost up, i am only concerned about gullible people who continue to revere them and worship with them. For such persons they need to remember what Jesus said at Mark 7:6,7 “He [Jesus] said to them [the Jewish Pharisees and scribes]: ‘Isaiah aptly prophesied about you hypocrites, as it is written, “This people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far removed from me. It is in vain that they keep worshiping me, because they teach as doctrines commands of men.”’” (Regardless of whom a group profess to worship, if they hold to doctrines of men instead of the inspired Word of God, their worship is in vain.) Also Rev 18:4 says Get out of her, my people, if you do not want to share with her in her sins, and if you do not want to receive part of her plagues.THE DECISION IS YOURS. |
