Fantasyisland:
Thanks dear. I don't write any story on Nairaland unless I'm nearly done. I may have loads left to do i.e grammatical error, arrangement and a bit of fine tuning but I make sure the work is nearly complete. I also know how the story would end (I have it in my head) even if its not finished. I know the characters I would kill off and readers opinions never sway me. While some may be complaining about a character I've killed off or what someone should or shouldn't have done, I'm probably tidying the last few chapters of the novel. It also helps that I don't update with a phone (I have a very unfriendly phone when it comes to typing)

Next time you are tempted to write a story, don't paste it on Nairaland until you're like 60 to 70% complete. Just keep typing and saving somewhere or writing it down on a paper. Don't be tempted to paste it until you know the fate of the major characters. Hopefully you wouldn't have incomplete stories. Hope that helped.
Thanks so much dear, it helped a lot! As for the typing with an unfriendly phone thingy, you got me there. Its really frustrating for me as my laptop is bad. Keep up the good work dear and as for you last story; I is for Infidelity.... I thought it didn't end well. Lol, now I understand why.
You know, the beauty of being a writter is that we mold and shape our words world, we are gods and goddesses and for that moment, we control, we are untouchable.
I wish U a very uplifting career in writing. I might need ur skills someday, Lol.

Fantasyisland, you are intend talent personified. I have been a silent reader of your work since you started writing on NL. Am not usually fazed by the talents of other writers but I must admit you have got a unique style here. I wouldn't go on and on because you've probably heard it lots of times.
But please do indulge me on ur secrets. Do you start and finish a story here on NL or you've written it before and just copy and paste?
How do U manage with writer's laziness? Lol because as for mua, I have been struggling to finish four different novels. I usually drop an unfinished one, and start another.
Do pray tell. undecided

Ever heard of tea detox?

Detoxing with tea is not a new idea. Some people, especially tea addicts like some celebrities have raved about the benefits of tea and it's additional function as a detox. Some people claim to have lost as much a 20 - 40 pounds during a 14days detox. This could be realistic because detoxing help to rid your body of toxins and bad substances that thwarts the full effect of essential nutrients. Apart from it's weight lost benefit, detox energizes the body, improves immunity and cleanse the system.
The process of detoxing with tea is to first cut down on sugar; artificial sweetners, honey, refined sugar, carbonated drinks and the like. The effect of sugar in the body is toxic. Apart from causing you to pack on the pounds, it tasks your body to provide more insulin, in the process, putting a strain on your pancreas. Diabetes, cancer and body fatigue occurs in the long run.
The next step is to go all green for the duration of your detox. What you need to do is change your diet. Not drastically, because it could be hard and also, a drastic change could be dangerous to your health. Moreover, the body's metabolism is likely to slow down and it goes into starvation mode, in the process, it hungrily stores the little energy it gets from the food you eat so a drastic change to your diet or the plain liquid detox that encourages you to starve is not altogether advised. The trick is to go slow. Start with less carbs and gradually incorporate fruits and vegetables into your teatox as a substitute for your everyday meals. You can spice things up with a blend of tea and fruit smoothie.

This issue is a general one. But it's very serious. Self discipline should be a subject in schools.

Please read 'I was innocent'
He tasted blood and the force from the stick uprooted two teeth which flew free from the captivity of his gum. The rush of blood from the tear in his tongue and injured gum threaten to drown him. It muted his screams. A second blow landed on his head and he fell into oblivion. Suddenly, the pains where no more but he could hear their angry cries. He heard wailings close to where he stood watching. He picked out his mother’s voice.
“Oh my son! My son…he is just nine, he is just a child”

=-d Hello friends, my name is jt and I am a writer. The first time I wrote something more than 100 words was when I was 13. It was a letter to my Dad, asking him to send me pocket money. Lol. Now I am older. I have written a short story of 2 words shy of 300. A story told in less than 15 minutes. A story which exposes the ugliness of jungle justice in Nigeria.
Here it is.

“Oh my son! My son…. he is just nine, he is just a child”
He wondered briefly what he is now because he could see himself lying limp and helpless on the dirty sand floor of Ojuelegba Market. Then he knew. He was now a misty being free from the encumbrances of the flesh and he was glad that he did what was right but he pitied them, especially the woman who thought he stole her bulb of onion when he actually helped to pick it from the floor.
“A good name is better than riches” his mother used to say and he would ask
“what’s the use of a good name if nobody knows it?”
Mother would answer,
“Then you should be content because fame and power attracts the worse and corrupts the best”
Mother flung herself on his lifeless body as two men emptied cans of petrol on it. They bathed her with it too while she begged to die with her only child but three men bodily lifted her away while another dumped a tire on his flaccid neck.
He faded away, delighted to leave. Thunder rolled as people slowly dispersed. An impending rain brought the wind that carried the smell of the burning flesh and a mother’s screams to the high heavens.

Jiji is just like Olx. They should call them Scammers.ng. They very fond of sending you scam mails such as having the laughable 'job briefing' and fake addresses with abbreviations as company names.

What I do is call and ask for their company address. If they tell you to submit your CV via their email don't! And stay clear.
