PoliticsAll I Want Is For My Husband To Succeed - Aisha Buhari by Jtownonline(op): 8:26pm On Oct 27, 2016
All I want is for my husband to succeed - Aisha Buhari

Wife of the President, Mrs Aisha Buhari, who recently criticized the appointments of some persons she alleged did not contribute to her husband’s emergence as president in the 2015 elections but have hijacked the government, has declared she is interested in the success of her husband’s administration.
She had earlier in the interview expressed her frustration about “the way things are going,” declaring “I am not happy. It was people that brought the government into power.
More than half of those people are not appointed into the government. Some people that are not politicians, not professionals, were brought into government. They don’t even know what we said we want and what we don’t during campaigns,” she said on the BBC Hausa service.

Both the interview and the President’s response in Berlin, Germany, drew mix reactions from across Nigeria, fueling speculation of likely cracks in the first family.

But in what appeared like a response to the heat generated by her interview and apparently her first public reaction, Aisha said yesterday at Beneshiek, headquarters of Kaga Local Government in Borno state, that her interests lie in the success of President Buhari’s government.

“What I am after in particular is the success of my husband’s administration and he can’t do it alone except with the help of the governors, their wives and all members of our progressive party,” she declared at the flag off of nutritional foods and household utensils to Internally displaced persons who recently returned to their communities.

Looking calmer and smiling throughout the occasion, Aisha advised wives of political leaders, governors, legislators, local government chairmen and counsellors to work closely with their husbands for the well-being of the people.

She explained that the distribution of the food items and other relief materials for the returnee IDPs was sourced from donations by well-meaning Nigerians through her recently launched ‘Get Involve’ programme under her Future Assured project. She stated that the launching of the Get Involve “consolidated and united” Nigerians even as she thanked those who made donations for the programme, saying the people of Borno appreciate their gesture.

She said she was happy that the flag off of the food distribution took place, noting that it was in fulfillment of her husband’s campaign promise to resettle displaced victims of Boko Haram insurgency and rescue all citizen abducted or held by Boko Haram including the Chibok girls.

“We thank almighty Allah that we have started fulfilling some of the campaign promises that we made. This is the essence of leadership; you make a promise and then fulfilled it. We thank my dear husband who make sure peace is returned to the northeast states,” she said.

Wife of Borno State governor, Nana Shettima commended Mrs Buhari for the distribution, adding that it was the third time the First Lady would visit the state to attend to the humanitarian challenges of Borno people. She assured that she will continue to collaborate with Mrs Buhari’s Future Assured project through her Support for Widows, Orphans and Tsangaya (SWOT) programme

Family"I Just Found Out My Dad Is Gay"-- Boy Cries Out.. by Jtownonline(op): 7:15pm On Oct 27, 2016
For ones, I never suspected that any of my relative is gay not until recently that I just found out that my dad is gay. My dad didn't come out to tell his family that is gay but I found out on my own when I caught him in the act with his childhood friend Mr Kay in our house. This incident has affected my relationship with my father. He pleaded with me not to tell my mum that he was going to tell her himself.
This is over 2 months now and each time I ask him if he has told her about his sexuality he begs for more time. The issue now is that I am running out of patient and I don't know if I should tell my mum or I should still give him time.
PLEASE I NEED YOUR ADVICE..

PoliticsThis Administration Has A Clear Northern Agenda by Jtownonline(op): 6:11am On Oct 27, 2016
by Cheta Nwanze

A new pipeline is in the offing, from Port Harcourt to Kano. Then three new power plants. One in Kano, one in Kaduna, one in Abuja. This comes as more resources are being devoted to the search for oil in the North-East, then there’s that 3% of VAT thing, that somehow Kano got itself involved in, despite a) not being in the North-East, and b) not exactly being victims of Boko Haram’s festivities.

There’s no hiding it. This administration has a clear agenda, and the North is front and centre of that agenda.

Many of my southern compatriots have complained, bitterly in some cases, about how we are constantly “shafted” by the North. I think different. To be honest, I can’t help but envy the almost laser sharp focus of the northern elite in cornering the resources of this ‘ere country for their purpose. Whether those resources are used properly is another matter. What matters here is the lessons to be learned.

First, it is true that the northern elite is ahead, only just, of the various factions in the South as the most hedonistic and self-obsessed group of people in this country, and those guys have managed to abuse noble concepts like Zakat for their own selfish purposes. But I’m a firm believer in the theory of enlightened self-interest, and as the resources available to share dwindle, and the population, especially in the North, grows, I believe that a leader will eventually emerge in the North, who will go beyond merely giving his people fish, but teaching them how to fish. When that happens, someone else will teach his people how to create a scarcity of fish.

Concurrently, what will happen in the South? Our own ‘leaders’ here are too busy feathering their own nests and not giving a hoot about building sustainable alliances. Within the South.

You see, one of the greatest victories of the Northern establishment is in the manner they managed to convince so many in the South that we must all have a “national vision”, yet if you look closely, many in the North, the intelligentsia, the common people, always promote the Arewa ideal. Are they wrong?

The answer is NO.

There is nothing wrong in advancing the interest of your section of the country. Where things start to get messy is when you advance your interests, and deliberately pull down others at the same time. That is what has been happening in Nigeria. Unfortunately, we have spent the greater part of three generations making it look like advancing your own interests is dirty, and as a result, abusing people, especially Southerners, who try to advance their own interests. This has to change, and what is important is the context within which it changes.

You see, if we make this change, but maintain the current context, we will be caught in an endless loop where the moment someone comes into power in the all powerful Abuja centre, only the “interests” of his people will be advanced for four years. Then when he leaves, the pendulum swings, and so on. That, is not sustainable.

However, if we have a situation where people are allowed to be creative within their own small enclaves, then pay Abuja an agreed percentage of their sweat, while keeping the rest, then we will quickly find that we can all advance the interests of our sections, and the interest of Nigeria.

PoliticsWake Up Plateau State by Jtownonline(op): 11:25am On Oct 23, 2016
Its disheartening but one must ask, how did Plateau State got included among the (NEDC) states when the name of the Commission still remains the North Eastern Development Commission. Where is Plateau State in the Northeastern project ?
Aside (NEDC) the North East enjoy benefits like (VSF) Victims Support Fund, and other special packages from the President/first lady e.t.c. yet Plateau State benefits nothing due to poor representation.

Plateau State is one among States that has experience real terrorism for 15 years ,with a high number of IDPs more than many states in the Northeastern part of Nigeria.
Plateau State has also lost great leaders and future leaders to terrorism with reference to the 2012 attack on a then serving Senator. Late Sen Dantong. Late Hon. Gyang Fulani. Hon. Prince Simon Mwadkon as the only survivor of that deadly attack. Places like Dogo Na hauwa wipe out ,Rop, district,Bachit and so many others.
With historical and evidential facts like this I believe we have enough superior argument for our national Representatives to use in negotiating and laying tentative claims to.
Move for the Commission change of name from North East Development commission (NEDC) to Northern states Development commissioned (NDC).
We need to understand that the Governor alone can not solve all our problems alone, but in other to succeed as a state we need to put all hands on deck, put Plateau interest first by pushing bills that would help save or help improve our life directly not push bills for the sake of publicity stunts.
God Bless Plateau State.

PoliticsA Dose Of Common Sense For Mr President by Jtownonline(op): 7:05am On Oct 18, 2016
Common sense advocate, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce has a few words for President Muhammadu Buhari, and every thought he’s shared is true to the title of the series. The issue now is, who will play this video to the President.
They’ve told us he doesn’t know more than half of his staff.
They’ve told us he’s a stubborn man who likes everything to be done his way, even when his way leads to Hades.
They’ve told us he enjoys watching cartoons, except if Mallam Garba Shehu lied sha.
And we know that the The Other Room is a favourite part of his home, so DO NOT DISTURB.
How do we then pass common sense to Mr President?
Only through the preacher himself! YouTube videos that the President will never watch are just as ineffective as tweets he will never read.
Take this message through the appropriate channel, the YouTube audience has no need for it.

PoliticsA Poem On President Buhari’s #theotherroom by Jtownonline(op): 7:07am On Oct 16, 2016
by Soyombo Ayomikun
The Other Room!
1. Where ambitions may be Quashed,

Where the gods of passion
Ravenously devour,
Where sweat
Drips and
Drops,
The Other
Room!

2. Where snores
Erupt,
Where ‘subconscious’
Reigns supreme,
Where hearts embrace
In sweet flowery dreams,
A daily witness
Of our stark
unclothedness,
The Other
Room!
3. Our fore-fathers
Snuffed out dreams in
The Other
Room,
Of girls that should
Rule,
Of voices that should
Be heard beyond
Our coast-
Silenced forever in
The Other
Room!
4. Who says
The Boardroom
Is the inheritance
Of beings
With hanging balls?
Who says
It’s the fate
Of our girls and
Women
To be forever lost
In the cooking room?
Who says
Our ladies can’t ignite
Our hearts and
Inspire us to
Our bones?
Please,
Let our girls
And ladies and
Mothers
Fly,
Out of The Other Room
Let them fly!

EducationAn Open Letter To Unijos VC Prof. Maimako by Jtownonline(op): 5:35am On Oct 07, 2016
Dear Sir,
I bring you greetings from the beautiful City of Jos. I will like to start by congratulating you for emerging as the new Vice Chancellor of University of Jos. You came out tops against all odds coming from the persons you contested against. Sir you played your cards very well I respect your approach towards academic politics.
I will also love to sympathize with you over the attempt made on your life by unknown gunmen thank God they didn't succeed. As we all know attempts on the lives of public office holders is synonymous to politics in Nigeria. I was not surprise when I heard that there was an attempt on your life this is due to the fact that you contested against very powerful people in the field of academic politics. It is quite
unfortunate that innocent souls of Policemen attached to you were lost. May their innocent soul rest in peace with their maker and may the souls of the people who plotted this attack face torment until their last breath on earth. Sir, I will be raising few issues and I promise not to make this letter lengthy.

Sir, the rate at which female students are turning into sex object in the hands of male lecturers in the University is alarming and despicable. I know and believe that you are not oblivious of that fact and must have heard of some cases when you were just a lecturer. Now the question is are you doing anything to bring this inhumane act to an end? Some of these female students are now shadows of themselves due to the fact that if they fail to cooporate with these DOGS, their academic will be in imperilment. I know some of these female students and some of them are welling to report but don’t know who to report to. They can’t report to any lecturer within the department because they are colleagues. Sir, I will love to see that you set up a committee that will be saddled with the responsibility of looking into such cases. The committee should provide complaint boxes in all departments within the university so that student can easily reach out to them or better still provide a mobile number that can be used to reach the committee.

Sir, I will love to talk about my post (Read story here)regarding the appointment given to your daughter as a lecturer in the department of Mass Communication. I came under serious attack by friends and my esteem blog readers. Some understood the angle I was coming from while others especially people coming from your side didn’t see reason(s) with me because they allow sentiment to cloud their sense of good judgment and comprehension. Sir, when I got admission, we were meant to believe that when we do well and come out top of our class that the best will be retained after graduation. Based on investigation, I got to find out that your daughter Dongvel didn’t come out top of her class but graduated with a Second Class Upper division (2.1). Now in great consternation I begin to ask myself question on the rationale behind her appointment as a lecturer? I don’t know if she read my post on her appointment as a lecturer that her students are complaining bitterly about her lecturing method and I think it is time she “up her game”. I got to see her in person after my exams last week when her student pointed at her. Sir, I hold nothing against you or your daughter Dongvel but I believe that the right thing should be done.

Sir, I am bringing up this issue on behalf of students of the University who are residents of Village Hostel. The security situation at the hostel is porous and pathetic and calls for urgent attention. God forbid for any attack on the hostel but if that should happen, they attackers will have an easy entrance into the hostel due to its fallen fence. The hostel is also in a deplorable state and it is in need of some renovation work.

Sir, we are appalled by the growing number of "missing scripts" every semester. Why is this becoming synonymous with the university especially in the Faculty of Social Science and Education? What is responsible for this? Is it negligence on the part of the university (Lecturers)? I have a friend who is spilling because of a missing script which was as a result of careless of lecturers in the university. Rather than compelling students to re-register for such courses by spending unbudgeted sums for what ought to have been solved, we believe that it is the inescapable responsibility of the university to trace such scripts within a reasonable period and grade students accordingly. This is the only way the university can convince us that the issue of "missing scripts" is indeed inadvertent.
Sir, I pray that you will use your good office to look into these issues raise in this letter. I also pray that Almighty God will bless you and protect you as work to make Unijos the best University in Nigeria.
GOD BLESS OUR UNIJOS..

RomanceStory: The Reverend. (+18) by Jtownonline(op): 6:58am On Oct 05, 2016
I looked down to see the Reverend looking at me as if he was in a trance.
When the Reverend came to our town to pay our church a visit, my husband, the lead pastor of our church, was chosen to host him for the night. This meant we had a guest in our house that I had to take care of.
That evening, when he came around, I went to greet him. He was sitting on the sofa with my husband, having a discussion when I entered. I asked him what he would like to eat and nodded when he made his choice.

I worked hard at preparing his dinner making sure it tasted good. I wanted to impress him. As I was serving the food, my husband informed me that he had to quickly visit his friend and fellow pastor down the street concerning the preparation for the Reverend.
As the Reverend ate, I sat in the living room to keep him company.
“I heard that as a Reverend, people come to you to confess their sins all the time,” I asked.
“Yes, they do.”
“Interesting. You must know a lot of secrets. What kinds of things do they reveal?”
“All kinds. You know I cannot divulge them.”
I bit my bottom lip as I thought. I had my own secret weighing down heavily on me and I wondered what he would think of it. Would he be shocked? Or had he heard many like mine before so it would not be a big deal?
I sighed as he watched me. He seemed to suspect something was going on. I hurriedly cleared my expression and got up to leave.
Later that night, I sat up in bed as my husband slept. I have not been able to sleep for weeks now since I did the thing I did. I got up from the bed and knocked gently at the guest room door, hoping our guest was still awake.
“Come in,” he said.
I closed the door behind me after I entered. He was sitting on his bed, dressed in his pyjamas.
“I hope I did not wake you.”
“No, my sister, you did not.”
I stood near the door, unsure.
“You seem to have something on your mind. Come in and talk to me.”
I went to sit by him. I could not believe I was about to do this but I so badly needed to let go of this burden.
“Reverend, I am so sorry to disturb. I just have so much on my mind.”
“Talk to me. I will listen.”
“Two months ago, I met someone, a young man. He was very kind to me. We started out as friends, but three weeks ago, we became something more. We slept together.”
“You had an affair?”
“Yes. And since then, we have made love multiple times. My husband was the only man I had ever been with until this guy. Now I cannot get enough. I keep saying I would stop but I keep going back.”
“Why can’t you stop?”
“To be honest. He is really big…ehm.. down there. Bigger than my husband and he satisfies me. I enjoy it too much.”
“Hmm..”
“Now, the thing is, I have started thinking of other men. I now know what S3@.x:’ should feel like and I am thinking of being with other men. I just don’t know how to stop these thoughts.”
“Yes, that sounds like a problem…”
“For instance, looking at you right now, I am thinking of you N@kkd. How you will feel…”
He cleared his throat and I added. “I am sorry Reverend. I just want to unburden myself.”
“Go on, my sister. Open up.”
“Okay. I am wishing I could take off your clothes now. I am imagining how your own Pen.!s will be. I am wondering if it will be big and how it will feel if it enters me.”
I saw him shift uncomfortably. My eyes went down to his groin and I could see that his erection was evident. He was probably not wearing underwear.
I reached my hand and tentatively moved it to rest on his d.!ck. I half hoped he would stop me because I really did not want to do what I was about to do.
“Dear Lord,” he said, as I gently pulled down the band of his trousers, exposing his d.!ck. It was big. I was glad.
“I… I don’t think…,” he started to say again.
“Don’t think!” I said, looking up at him and cutting him off.
I wrapped my fingers around his sick and glide them up and down, stroking him slowly. I bent over and licked the head of his C@.ck then ran down the entire length with my tongue.
I pushed him down so he laid on the bed before I continued. I liked the feel of his C@.ck sliding into my mouth.
My hand moved up and down his d.!ck, my lips meeting my fingers as my mouth went down and my hands came up. I then let my mouth go farther down the C@.ck, sucking it deep into my mouth, bobbing my head on him.
I wanted him now, I wanted to feel him cum inside me. I pulled up the nightdress I wore and settled on his d.!ck. I moaned lightly as his d.!ck moved through my wet Pu.$$y. I began to move up and down. I looked down to see the Reverend looking at me as if he was in a trance. I continued rocking against him. He brought his hands and wrapped them around my waist as I bounced up and down on him.
I felt him nearing climax as he began to pant, sweat dripping down his face. I squatted on his d.!ck and bounced even harder until he forcefully pushed up his hips, held me in place and spilled his seed into me.
After a few minutes, I sat up on the bed and he did the same.
“I feel better talking to you,” I said to him.
“You do?”
I smiled at him. “Oh yes. I will never forget this,” I said as I got up and left to return to my husband’s side in bed.

Get it together, Lola!’ I scolded myself. He could very well be my boss. Or maybe not, because at this point, I was sure I was probably tanking the interview.
“So in what way do you think you will contribute to Amber Magazine?”
I noticed him look at me expectantly, then I realised he must have asked me a question. I tried to offer as good of a response as I could, but if you asked me now, I have no clue what I said. He seemed impressed by my answer, however, because he gave me a nod and continued speaking. I furrowed my eyes as I watched him talk. Perhaps, I held on to it longer than necessary because he gave me a very curious look. Or maybe my palms were just so sweaty from daydreaming about F**.Cking him.
It’s been two weeks since I started working at Amber Magazine. In all these times, I hardly ever saw Mr Lanre. He was almost always travelling or busy with meetings. The times I do see him, though, I halted my work on my computer and looked my fill as he made his way around the office. My N!.pplss tingled and my breath caught as I watched him. Sometimes, he would catch me staring but mostly, he just pretended that he did not notice.
Hell, I was even sure other colleagues noticed, but I could not help it. At nights, I would UnCloth, lay on the bed and finger-F**.Ck myself while imagining him touching me. I would lick my lips and dream about kissing him. Whenever I F**.Cked my boyfriend, I would close my eyes as his d.!ck slid in and out of me and imagine Mr Lanre F**.Cking me. I really had it bad.
One Thursday afternoon, I received an email from Mr Lanre, telling me that I would be attending an event with him on Friday night. The event which was taking place at one of the halls at The Eko Hotels will go into the night, the mail said. It was like Christmas came early. I left the office way before closing time so I could shop. It was the one opportunity I had to be with him alone.
I was to cover the red carpet and get quotes from celebs which will be used in the magazine. So, I chose my outfit carefully. I went with a short red dress that hugged my curves and had a daring slit on the side. The dress also showcased my B@.0bs very sultrily. I also shopped for underwear and lingerie in the hopes that Mr Lanre and I will eventually have our night.
It was certainly a busy evening. I was so focused on schmoozing with the celebs that for a couple of hours, I forgot about seducing Mr Lanre. It was fun and I even flirted a bit here and there. The event itself was not so bad but I had to take a lot of notes for the article I would have to write on it that I could not fully enjoy it. Finally, at about 2am Mr Lanre found me, gave me a Key Card and room number, then told me I could head in whenever I was ready. He also added that he would be coming in soon.I lost all interest in all the buzz and the fun then. I hurriedly packed my iPad and notes and headed to the room. I wanted to be ready for him. Once I entered, I went into... Continue...http://jtownonline..com.ng/2016/10/story-seducing-boss-18.html#more
EducationThe Euphoria Of CGPA And The Illusion Of Sucess Among University Students.. by Jtownonline(op): 8:02am On Oct 04, 2016
I CAME ACROSS THIS ARTICLE ON FACEBOOK AND IT IS THOUGHT PROVOKING...READ ARTICLE BELOW.....
Social media platform. The comments revealed how some students were saddened by the potential mass failure in a departmental course and how their 'CGPAs' are on the verge of a possible decline. The feelings that came with this was very much nostalgic.

The Nigerian educational system has passed through some facets. With the Tertiary level, being the zenith of this Britannic model of education. Over the past decades, what has proved to be a subject of passion, zeal, desperation and extremism in Nigerian Universities is the CGPA. Upon admission into the University, the goal of every student is to graduate with a FIRST CLASS. Majority of such dreams, more often than not, dies in the second year into the University.
Obviously, the CGPA(Cumulative Gradient Point Average) massages ego, it inspires smile and induces tears. Why does a decimal point carries so much weight to an extent; people commit suicide for not making a targeted Gradient Point? The society has made us to believe albeit erroneously; that, not making a good CGPA means not making it in life. More worrisome is the fact that; there is this delusion among many undergraduates that a '5.0' CGPA will automatically earn you a wealthy life in the outside world. This is false and quite delusional! Although, it gives you a cushion, but there is far much more needed to navigate through the storm of the outside world.

Fundamentally, the Nigerian Educational System can be likened to a Zoo, where the Zookeeper in a quest to test which animal is the strongest, gathers the Antelope, Giraffe, Monkey,Lion and Tiger and declares thus : "whoever climbs the tree first is the strongest animal in the Zoo". Surely, the monkey will win under such circumstances but the monkey is no match for the Lion or even the Tiger. Given this analogy, it therefore appears that in every society; where there is no equal level playing ground, any result produced from any contest is bound to be distorted as it lacks the fundamentals of a true competition. In this light, not everybody is made for the Nigerian University System. Some are better off as fashion models, musicians, technicians, photographers, craftsmen et all. These people and their ilk are meant to be in special skill acquisition and development centers and not in a place their talents doesn't belong to and thus, may never be maximized in such an environment. Admittedly, the basic knowledge and usage of English is a prerequisite to make headway in a British colonized country like ours. This can however be achieved outside the four walls of the University. English studies, etiquette and soft skills(which are not even taught in the University) should be incorporated into the syllabus of such centers. This is how it is done in the Western world.

Instinctively, there are three categories of students in Nigerian Universities. The first being the so called "book worms or scholars". The second being the "average or normal students" and the third category being a conglomeration of misled elements, who surely have no business in a sane University Environment. After taking a deeper observation, I pointed out other group within these categories. Time won't permit me to digress that much but these observations will be integrated into the analysis of the larger groups.
Using the overemphasized CGPA as a yardstick, the first category, to be frank, are predominantly students whose cgpa falls between 4.4 to 5.0(on a scale of 5.0). These are the revered 'geniuses' on our campuses. They are the 'living and moving books', as the society has taught us to believe. However, there is something paradoxical about this category of people. Many of them are aided by the way the system is structured and their academic success is not necessarily a product of invincibility. The system has made little room for innovations but it has rather strongly maintained a high level of conservatism. The system also encourages cramming. Hence, a student who crams a lecture note and gives it back to the Lecturer; verbatim in the exam is more likely to have a distinction than a student who made an indepth research or even have a better in depth knowledge of the course.

There are empirical facts to back this up. The reason being that, most lecture notes images the sentiments of a Professor about a concept or topic. Once a student toes the same path in answering his examination question, he will be on the same wavelength with the lecturer who would then key into his answers. Most times, when students go 'too deep' into a course by unraveling so many things that were not
taught in class and flaunts such 'new knowledge' in his answer booklet, such students are most likely to get a C. The 'verbatim givers' are much more likely to have an A. Little wonder why some students can read a singular course material 10times before exam - the system rewards such approach, the verbatim givers, I choose to call them. I do not hold any grudge against the 'genuises', what I find quite bewildering about most of them is the tradition of studying the same set of materials from the beginning of the semester till the end all under the auspices of getting As. Why should I study a course material(which was probably used by the ancestors of my department) all through the semester? This is very crazy. A high CGPA without the initiative to solve societal problems is a WASTE. I once met a Frist Class student from the University of Ibadan who can recite all the theories of Karl Marx, John Locke, Aristotle, Plato, Voltaire and others.

EducationWhy Unijos VC Prof. Maimako's Daughter Should Not Be A Lecturer In Unijos. by Jtownonline(op): 9:24am On Sep 27, 2016
Unijos VC Prof. Maimoko has given his daughter a job as a lecturer in the department of Mass Communication in the University against all odds.
Jtownonline media was able to make contact with one of her course mate who wants to remain anonymous said "The news got to me as a shock; if the University should do the right thing regarding students that will be retained, Miss Dougvel Maimako can't fall in the first 15 students that will be retained. I am not saying she is not smart but she is just an average student and does not deserved to be retained. I guess she got the job because her Dad is the VC of the University".
Jtownonline media was able to have a chat with a student in 200 level who complained bitterly about her method of lecturing which in most cases students get more confuse at the end of each class. "I think she should only be taking 100 level students that is if she really wants to be a lecturer" he said.

CrimePHOTOS: Survivor Of Violence Cries For Justice by Jtownonline(op): 6:49pm On Sep 26, 2016
EVIL seems to be triumphing over good these days when we are expected to be each other’s keepers. What we are presently witnessing are violent clashes of different magnitude. People’s intolerance towards each other has assumed a regrettable dimension.
One wonders why in spite of campaigns by respective organizations and government to address sexual and gender based violence, the media lately seems to be awash with gory pictures, unfortunate incidences and heart breaking testimonies that have left victims either maimed, disfigured, abandoned and caused some their lives.

One was dumb founded at the alleged gruesome murder of Simi Dusu Chado and the assault on her sister Justina Dusu Chado, leaving her with matchet cuts and in the event, she lost one of her eyes by the suspect, Stephen Pam Luka Jang a resident of Sabon Gari Tudun wada, Jos Plateau State who is presently in Police custody.
The incident which occurred on the 27th of July 2016 as a result of a misunderstanding that ensued between Stephen Luka and Justina Dusu over the issue of pregnancy which he is responsible for but threatened her to terminate it. Her refusal did not warrant this heinous act that led to the death of her sister who was mediating over the matter.
In a chat with the Sunday Standard, the survivor and younger sister of the deceased explained that she had been in a relationship with Stephen (her boy friend) since 2009 when they met in the village (Foron) during Christmas. Justina said she relocated to Abuja where she was staying with her elder sister, late Simi to make ends meet.
While in Abuja, she sought to find out from Stephen her ‘lover’ how serious he was with their relationship because someone had asked for her hand in marriage. According to her, he confirmed that he was willing to marry her. That news sounded pleasant to her and pledged her commitment into the affair as well.
The table however upturned for Justina when she visited home with her sister Simi in June. Justina confessed that Stephen made love to her three times before she found out she was pregnant. It was the news of her pregnancy that broke the Carmel’s back. In an effort to address the issue after several calls to mediate, late Simi asked Justina if she knew where the boy resides which She gladly did.
In her narration, she said when they found him, he told her elder sister to excuse them so that they could discuss further. Barely few minutes after her sister went out, he picked a matchet and hit her on the neck and several of such made her screamed for help. Her sister quickly rushed in to help, but unfortunately was hacked on the head and other parts of her body living them in pool of blood and hopeless condition.
Eye witness account said Stephen hired a tricycle and picked the two ladies in their sorry stage to Hwolshe Medical Centre and later to Rayfield Medical Centre for intensive care. He rushed to report to the Police that they were his girl friends who fought and got themselves injured.
The culprit didn’t know that one of the ladies could recuperate to give the true account of what had transpired and therefore coined the story to suit his purpose.
There was connivance between the Police, father of the boy, Luka Shut Jang who is an elder with ECWA Church Sabon Gari, Tudun wada Jos and Justina’s uncle Sunday Chado, who rushed to bury late Simi at Foron while investigation was still ongoing. This was done in company of Reverend John A. Danyaya, the leading minister of the church who accompanied the corpse to Foron. There was no cause for any delay over the prosecution of the suspect after he had glaringly confessed to carrying out this heinous act.
The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) Plateau State chapter is concerned about the delay on the prosecution of the suspect before a court of law since the incident occurred about two months ago. It notes that this act has clearly depicted the decay in our society and particularly the unacceptable degree of irresponsibility exhibited by some dangerous people who are wolves in sheep clothing. It has equally revealed the vulnerability of women in our country today.
NAWOJ decries the rampant reoccurrences of Sexual and gender based violence being perpetrated around our environment without impunity. As Journalists and watch dog of the society, it is mandated to address some of these societal ills with nothing to hide from the public glare so as to enable the world appreciate the plight of women and children nowadays.
NAWOJ is therefore calling on the Plateau State Government through the Ministry of Justice, Ministry for Women Affairs and Social Development, Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) and other relevant authorities responsible for protecting and ensuring the rights of the average Nigerian is adequately protected to champion this course to ensure that the victim Justina Dusu accesses justice.
While noting that the association intends to collaborate with well-meaning organizations and individuals towards finding succor for the victim and survivor of this dastardly act, it assures that it would stand by her throughout the ordeal until justice is done on the matter considering the fact that she is from a vulnerable background.
The association is calling on such victims of any form of violence to speak out against ills perpetrated on them so as to forestall future occurrences and let the law takes its course.
The pathetic situation now is that Justina is pregnant and needs medical attention. In the absence of the family’s bread winner, who will fend for them? Her father Dusu Chado had been paralyzed and incapacitated to help them to further their education.
It might sound surprising that throughout their stay in the hospital, no support came from the family of the suspect instead according to a family source they are receiving threats to withdraw the case.

PoliticsAn Open Letter To Plateau Youths by Jtownonline(op): 8:39pm On Sep 23, 2016
I am writing this letter to youths on the Plateau because I am angry with them and how I wish anyone that reads this will forward this letter until all youths on the Plateau read this letter.
I wanted writing this letter sometime last year but I guess procrastination and other school activities deterred me from writing.
There are many issues that I will love to address or better still will love to raise about they youths on the Plateau. I am not generalizing these issues on all youths on the Plateau. Pleases don't get me wrong.

I am angry with the youths of Plateau State because they are lazy they will never love to engage themselves in any profitable venture all they want to do is to beg you for money that will be able to buy them one glass of Goskolo or a rap of Indian hem. Even those of them that will get a menial job will only do that job just for them to get money that will be enough for them to drink and smoke for that day. Whenever they are done squandering the money, they come back to look for another job and the circle goes on and on. Funny enough, most of these people who sell this illicit drink are not from Plateau State they are either Igbos or from Southern part of Nigeria. Based on observation, I have observed that those people selling this drinks and drugs don’t smoke or take this illicit drink. If these people selling these drugs are family men or women, I have also noticed that they don’t allow their children to consume this drink. These people are making good money from the stupidity of our youths.
I must commend the administration of the former Governor of Plateau State Sen. Jonah David Jang for putting up effort to bring the consumption of this killer drink to an end in the state. I feel that the effort by the former administration was not good enough to bring an end to the sell and consumption of Goskolo. I believe we they youths on the Plateau did not support Baba on this mission. I feel it is time for we the youths to take the Bull by the horn to see to it that this killer drink disappears from our streets and market. I will also love to use this medium to call on our lawmakers to propose a bill prohibiting the sell and consumption of this drink and anyone found going contrary to this should be punished accordingly.
Another alarming issue that is bothering me is the act of cowardliness by our youths. Do you know why some of us don't blink anymore at the Fulani herdsmen activities and never talk about it? I cannot be crying more than the bereaved. I cringe every time the "bomb goes boom" then I weep for the dead and moved on. The Plateau youths are the blankest people I know. My apologies to the few sensible ones first of all if there are any. Your number is being reduced drastically and under your watch Boko Haram and Fulani herdsmen snatched the first and the fourth position as the most deadly terror groups in the world. Everybody call you names. Our daughters and son are being decimated by bombs or killed by Fulani herdsmen. You don't feel ashamed rather you....... EducationNeed For Unijos School Authority To Call This Lecturer To Order. by Jtownonline(op): 8:41am On Sep 22, 2016
When I got admission into Unijos as a student, I was meant to understand that lecturers are not allow to sale course materials to any students offering their course(s). The former VC and now Deputy Governor of Plateau State Prof Sonni Gwanle Tyoden made this very clear during the matriculation ceremony of new students in 2010. The immediate past VC Prof. Hayward Babale also reiterated on the fact that lecturers are not allow to sale materials to students during 2011 matriculation.

No lecturer sold any material to me or coerced me to photocopy any material from him in the whole of my 100 level. When I got to meet a lecturer from the Psychology Department of the University Mr E. N Mwantu in my 200 level, the game changed.
In his first class, he presented 70 pages material before us and instructed us to make photocopies of the material. He said getting the material is not compulsory but it is mandatory for all students to get the material. He instructed all class representative from different department picking the course as an elective to collect the sum of #700 form every student offering the course. He said he was not selling the material but rather helping us photocopy the material. Mind you, this lecturer has a business center located at the Naraguta Hostel of the University. He was charging #10 per page amounting to over Two hundred and fifty thousand naira (#250,000), meanwhile other business centers will be willing to photocopy for us at the rate of #4 per page since we are photocopying in bulk. In one of his classes, he threatened that failure to buy this material means failing the course. I think he made good his threat because some of my course mate who could not afford to buy the material from him failed the course.
The school authority should call this Mr Mwantu to order before this become a trend in the university. This is exploitation and I believe the University has worked hard to see that this trend does not rear its ugly head in the university.

PoliticsPresident Buhari's Speech At The United States – Africa Business Forum, New York by Jtownonline(op): 7:47pm On Sep 21, 2016
1. I am delighted to be present here today at the 2nd edition of the United States–Africa Business Forum. I wish to thank the United States Department of Commerce and Bloomberg Philanthropies for organizing this event and for giving me this opportunity to address this august gathering of Political and Business Leaders from the United States of America (USA), Africa and other regions of the World. I believe all of us will take advantage of this Forum to establish and strengthen business relationships; share valuable experience; and collaborate for mutual benefits.

2. The United States has historically been one of Nigeria’s top trading partners; for decades, the US was the biggest importer of Nigeria’s crude oil. In the last two years, however, the sharp decline in US imports of our crude, on account of rising domestic production of Shale, has altered the trade balance between our two countries. But it has also thrown up opportunities for Nigeria to increase its non-oil exports – especially in agricultural products – to the U.S.

3. Today, Nigeria enjoys a mutually beneficial trade and investment relations with USA. This relationship has culminated in massive inflow of Foreign Direct Investment into Nigeria. There are several US Companies doing business in Nigeria, including Exxon-Mobil, Chevron, General Electric, IBM, Microsoft, Procter and Gamble, Coca-Cola, Pepsi Company, British-American Tobacco Company, UPS Courier Company, BCG, Johnson Wax Nigeria Ltd, Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, to name a few.

4. These are no doubt challenging times for the Nigerian economy. But let me use this opportunity to boldly affirm our conviction that there is no crisis without an accompanying opportunity. In our case, we see Nigeria’s ongoing economic challenges – occasioned mainly by the fall in oil prices – as an opportunity to set the economy firmly on the path of true diversification, sustainable economic growth, and shared prosperity.
5. Since the inception of my Administration in 2015, all efforts have been aimed at ensuring that all Nigerians enjoy rising standards of living. We campaigned for and came into office on the back of three fundamental issues: One, Securing Nigeria from terrorism and banditry, Two, Fighting corruption and ensuring that public funds work for the public good, and Three, Revamping an economy that was dangerously dependent on crude oil, and afflicted by rising inequality and jobless growth. We are pleased to note that our efforts are yielding fruit.
6. (On Security) – Hundreds of communities and thousands of people have been liberated from the clutches of the terrorists, under our watch, and are now getting a chance to, with support from the government and the international community, rebuild their homes and....

CrimeNigerian Police Force Brutality by Jtownonline(op): 2:25pm On Sep 21, 2016
THERE was a massive hold up along Numan-Gombe road following the manhandling of a trailer driver by men of the Police Force last Friday evening to about 10:00am of Saturday around Ngbalang village near Savannah Sugar Company.
Reports have it that the trailer driver was coming from the side of Gombe towards Yola when the incident happened.
According to the driver (name withheld on request), the policemen stopped him and then demanded for money which he flatly refused to give them as he said he hadn’t at that moment.
He revealed that the policemen now dragged him out of the vehicle and beat him up which led to his being admitted at the Numan General Hospital for treatment.
The reports further said that no sooner did other trailer drivers who usually gather at Ngbalang where they take their rest got wind of the incident jumped up and moved to the area and blocked the road with their vehicles thereby causing a serious hold up.
Vehicles plying the major Federal highway became stranded as the trailer drivers swore to fight back over what that claimed was injustice and intimidation by Policemen at roadblocks.

When the State Governor got wind of the incident, he quickly dispatched his deputy, Engineer Martins Babale to the scene, and on arrival to the scene, he was told by the Hama Bachama His Royal Highness Honest Stephen that the issue has been settled with the Police who have agreed to pay for the damage they caused.
The policemen were said to have shot at the vehicle tyre and smashed the windscreen of the trailer.
The Deputy Governor then commended the traditional ruler for settling the matter and hoped that nothing similar happens again.
Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Samuel Gangwaja who also confirmed the story said the Deputy Governor was happy that the issue was resolved.
But effort to get the Police Public Relations Officer S.P Othman Abubakar failed as several calls to his line proved abortive as his phone keeps saying he cannot be reached.
