I applied for Spanish Schengen visa since July 10th 2025, I’m still yet to get my passport. The people at the visa collection center BLS Spain told me that all the visa officers at the Spanish embassy resigned, hence the reason for not getting a response from the embassy. They also informed me that they haven’t had appointments in 2 weeks. This is so disappointing, all of my efforts and resources wasted.

so funny, july is summer is normal, many of them travels is why, they started issues visa don't worry you will get feedback asap,
my last visa got it in 3 days, maybe I'm frequent traveler is why

Don't till know why people are still apply with Italy, they changes office and treatment is very slow even for frequent traveler, you will lost time, energy and money, you will send them email and they will never reply you,
even calls same. Good luck guys

Looks like they're no longer giving visas up to the length of your visa expiry.
Via the tracker, saw its only valid for 6months.

In July last year, I had applied with my wife, and we were denied in December.

We thought it wise to wait for some time before trying again.

This August, we decided to submit another one and here’s the timeline.



5th Aug--- Application submitted

Background Check commenced same day

28th Aug---Eligibility completed

BVL and PPR



Documents submitted are

1.Passport- Copy of Data page, Expired Schengen visa, Entry and Exit stamps for Italy and Maldives trips

2. NIN

3. Proof of Funds----2 Dorm account statements having balance of 14k usd and 2.5k usd

Salary account statement having balance of 5.3m

Pension Account Statement having balance of 9.2m

Reference letters from my bank and pension

Registered Power of Attorney for my house/valuation report for same house

4. Marriage Certs, Birth Certs for my kids and family pictures

5. Employment- Offer Letter, Last Promotion Letter, Introduction letter from my employer, Tax Clearance Cert and Payslips

6. Additional Docs- Invitation letter from my brother supported with his PR card and birth certificate and a picture with him

Invitation Letter from my sister-in-law supported with her PR card.

Receipts of payments made to Ministry of Lands for my house

My birth certificate/ Professional Certificate/MSc Cert/Admission Letter for my PhD programme.

And if i need to wait for them to request,how long does this take? Thank you.

IRCC will send you email so with that you will look for biometric appointment in vfs

Can I submit a 3 months bank statement alongside a 4 month dollar MF bank statement

So the issue is that, I used most of my money for a farm investment earlier in year and the return came back in June which I’m not sure if I’ll be able to prove it as it’s a friends farm that I invest in and he returns my capital and interest as agreed. I do not have any documents to back this up

So my initial plan was to print my Naira statement for 3 months, which starts right after the lump sum came and then submit the mutual fund for 4 months

But I saw on the new IRCC portal that 4 months bank statement should be submitted and I’m confused as to how to go about this

Please I’ll like suggestions on how to go about this

you need to provided minimum 4 months,
I must tell you to submit the 3 months and explain in letter but your chance will be low if the VO don’t believe you about that

Can someone please help me out with details on how you compress so much documents to 2mb. After all my compression, i still have almost 6mb. when i further compress, it is becoming almost unreadable. Also, how do you add photos? do you lay several of them on word/pdf, or add them one after the other in the list of attached documents? It also looks to me like ircc did not read my sisters LOE. is there a way we can make ircc see it better or do you think some officers just overlook those things? Would be glad to get your response. no but you can ask to withdraw tout application if delay is much and Canada asking tout passport. Canada usually give 30 days feedback I don’t know your situation. Try France if you want your visa on time

The issue is about how these people take us. Respect is key. Alot of them come to Nigeria and enter freely as they like with no hassles. Yet they subject our people to untold things on their own money.

Respect is all we ask for. They should be Respectful and responsible else people will start calling out these diplomatic missions soon. I forsee that. Enough of the nonsense!

Schengen visa this days become like Gold! But you get your visa finally?

It's shows how disorganised they are. The embassy is not first to shift consulate or office. The excuse is not tenable. We take and tolerate too many nonsense in this Nigeria. From your experience traveling around the world, have you not noticed that these people do not joke with anything that concerns them?

Africans need to wake up and stop this " we are at your mercy" syndrome. Like they are doing us a help. Do you know how much is generated daily from visa applications? How many do they usually approve? Yet they will make people look weird on their hard earned monies.

So far so good. I think France is still the best and most coordinated.


Is it U.S embassy we want to talk of, they can reject like 100 visas in 10mins. Do you know how much that is? We should stop encouraging these things that Foreign missions do to us.

It's not acceptable . That is it. No other words.

Processing time is 3 weeks , maintain it.

Look at South Africa too, that is even an African country. Those ones too have been notorious for long tho , but see how many months they took to process tourist visas recently. You can go to the section to read comments. Some have been waiting since December 2024 and January this year. So what are we encouraging or saying ?

Imagine Even South african, I work with south African in offshore here to them to get visa to come in Nigeria is very easy and is in next 48h, our leader should make this visa will be reciprocity

As I learnt, italy is very notorious for visa delays. I saw a post online sometime ago where someone was complaining bitterly.

Why take people's document and keep them inside a place for so long.

People need to start calling out these diplomatic missions for real, because in their own countries, its unacceptable to do this kind of things.

I also support you guys to send a clear warning to anyone willing to apply for their visas. You had better be aware unless your trip is not urgent.

but what I hear from the guy I sent in consulate is they change office another level to other so they shifted many documents and software installation that is make delay from last December till now and they are not give Closer appointement for first time traveler too.

Apparently, they have been doing this for so long.

I sent people there I sent an email so they can give my original documents because I’m seaman and was in offshore, they refuse to give throught Proxy, I sent an email 100 times no reply!
As frequent traveler with active us visa and UK visa with 2 past Schengen visa with almost 30k usd in my account they rejected my visa for reason 10. Travel not reliable.
After 3 weeks I submit same documents in BLS for Spain on 25/03 and I got my visa approve in next 3 days for 90 days! Very funny that consulate never reply email and call number never work

Govt need to something about all these missions. The unfortunate thing is that they have sold us all out because they are beggars to alot of these european countries. It is really sad

Omor there is train and bus from spain to Milan and vice versa but it would be time consuming compared to flying

submitted 10 January and I got denied 22 February and funny they sent only passport and denied letter without all my original even my mariage one and my seaman one. Is only yesterday they sent to tls after a lot of email and they never answered even 1.
Thank God . I will travel in my summer with my Spain visa .

As frequent traveler Italy rejected me last end of February for reason 10.
I apply last week with Spain and I got my visa today 90 days for 6 months. I sent a lot of email to Italy consulate because of delay maybe because of that the rejected my visa .
There is always hope just keep trying

Application submited 10/01 and transfered to consulate 13/01 waiting almost 45days

This is not my first time applying. I have previously held four Schengen visas and many other visas from countries such as Turkey, Russia, and others.

In my opinion, POF (Proof of Funds) is not the same as regular deposits or withdrawals in a bank statement.

POF is specifically meant to prove that you have a certain blocked amount of money to show you can financially support yourself, for example, in the case of a student visa.

"Please understand that proof of funds is not the same as a bank statement with regular inflows."
