I personally do not think it's right for a man to participate in female sports, only because he enjoys some advantage based on his natural attributes.
Yet, we must not discriminate against them.
They already have a tough life.
You can maintain decorum without shaming.
You can empathise even if you aren't afflicted. There should be a limit to being woke, humanity thrives by abiding to clearly defined boundaries. Allowing certain tendencies which clearly threaten the very fabric of human existence is an invitation to self destruction. Absolute freedom without reasonable control does not benefit any society |

RodgersAkpafu: So the Scots willingly joined the Union? Or the Welsh? Or even Quebec?
Seems like you need to brush up on a history book. Nigeria CAN work IF the people WANT it to work And it is better for Nigeria to work as one unit
Because a divided and disintegrated Nigeria does no one any good
It looks cool but what it happens it won't be so cool Sudan and South Sudan are BOTH engulfed I'm civil war as we speak You keep talking about history, but the evolution of the nations you keeping citing as examples of what works in a multiethnic society, is totally different from ours , and as for the Scots, there is already a constitutional framework for them to decide their future which they can utilize anytime the need arises in their view. Nigeria as presently constituted was entirely for the economic benefit of the British without any consideration for the divergent ethnic nationalities, and our political elite are persisting with same model purely for their own economic and political needs, and they will not willingly give up these corrupt privileges, a recipe for disaster in my view. Nigerians as a people are resilient and enterprising but Nigeria as a political entity as presently constituted will kill the Nigerian, mark my words |

nairalanda1: Problem is, we are a resource dependent nation. Fix the idea that economic development is dependent on everyone getting share of national cake, and make sure every state , even village is making stuff that the world can use...then we can go somewhere.
Anything else is asking for war over resources. On this I concur |
Politics › Re: Zamfara Bandits Pose With Weapon That Looks Like Russian Air Defence System by Judgesledge(m): 7:24am On Jun 09, 2025 |
nairalanda1: Nigeria cannot divide. The guy is right. Far too many people are benefiting from Nigeria, than not benefiting from it. I don't mean prosperity.
Even in the 1960's when Biafra happened, and am sure you are supporting Biafra, there were issues between Igbos and minorities. Even today, minorities won't join Igbos. Then there is the reason why midwest region was created, plus the North is not as united as before.
If Nigeria breaks up, it won't be a clean breakup. You will end up with what is happening in DR Congo...hundreds of tribal millitants fighting each other, herdsmen, and some sort of rag tag remnant of the Army for control of resources. And a large flow of refugees.
I am not saying you should not support your idea for Nigeria's division. If you want division, no wahala. But I am saying that, the palaver is that it may not be as easy as you think. Most minority tribes, for example, feel that their life is better in a united Nigeria than a divided nigeria where the big tribes will prey on them (and if you think it won't happen, you never see nigerian history properly). And they collectively outnumber the big tribes, and the fulanis.
Also, many of you people who want division of Nigeria are not consistent. You cannot be shouting secession one minute, and then when it is election time, be saying we should vote for your candidate, who does not want secession. If Obi won in 2023, or Atiku won in 2019, dem no go gree for secession. They have benefited from a united Nigeria, and will continue to benefit from it.
Ekweremadu...yes, I know he is a disgrace....but a broken clock is right two times a day...has given a good road to dividing nigeria without sitting down and shouting 'We want division', 'Nigeria is a mess' online. Personally, I don't want Nigeria to break up, but what are we doing presently to prevent that, nothing on my view, infact we are doing exactly the opposite. Yes I support the idea of Biafra, but a Biafra within a restructured and just society where all ethnic nationalities are valued, anything less than that, this nation will ultimately implode and Congo will be like a child's play. As for Obi, he portrays himself as a good man, well I don't need him or any igbo man as president within the present political structure of Nigeria because they won't be any different from PBAT and his predecessors. Nigeria is just a business enterprise handed over to a group of selfish businessmen who now use religious and ethnic primordial loyalties to negotiate and share economic and political power among themselves. Eventually that business will fail unless it is repositioned |

RodgersAkpafu: Britain has three major ethnic groups and it's still a country Belgium has TWO MAJOR ethnic groups and it's still a.couhtry Switzerland nko? Singapore nko? What of Canada ? Even America is more complex than Nigeria because you see two very contrasting and powerful ideological blocks dragging for the soul of America
But Nigeria own is different? This is the typical short sightedness and lack of critical thinking that black people exhibit that will still make their country shiiiitholes even if you split every country into ten The countries you sited as examples why naija ain't breaking up anytime soon actually lend credence to my argument, when you consider how they evolved, in that, the are willing union of various nationalities with clearly defined political and legal boundaries, unlike Nigeria which was a purely forced union for the economic convenience of the Brits . If we don't sincerely sit and discuss objectively, no level of emotional blackmail will stop this nation from imploding, and everyone will feel the negative impact |

Don't you get it? Nigeria isn't going to break up because the things holding it together are more than what wants to divide it. Is Nigeria the most diverse nation on earth? Of course not. For other diverse nations to exist and united means Nigeria can too Very simplistic and sorry to say myopic view of the tragedy called Nigeria. What else if not the corrupt elite that iare holding Nigeria together purely for their own needs. No nation on Earth with three major ethnic nationalities will ever survive within the context of the corruption ridden political process and structure obtainable in Nigeria currently. |
Politics › Re: Reno Omokri: President Bola Tinubu Is Not Borrowing $21 Billion by Judgesledge(m): 8:41am On May 29, 2025 |
nairalanda1: But he is still borrowing.
Look, boys and girls, a lot of you people will come here to call me taxman, agbero, etc....but the hard truth is, so long as our budget is 80% reliant on monies from oil, we will borrow, and borrow more, and borrow, until we learn how to run our economy and government properly and face hard truths.
The budget for this year was based on the idea that oil prices will remain at least at 75 dollars per barrel. AND EVEN THEN...the government had to borrow 13 bn dollars extra. That is at Jan 1 2025. Since then, oil has fallen, and will keep falling this year. It is now at 60 dollars per barrel and has even been at 59 dollars per barrel. And it is going to keep falling. And here is a scary fact, we need oil to be at 130-39 dollars per barrel before we can say we got enough money...so even with all that, we are broke. AND THE ANNOYING THING...is that stealing is still in progress eg the budget padding happened this year as usual.
(Oh, and for agbadorians, that is why GEJ borrowed. Despite oil prices being high under his government, for the most part they did not pass 130 dollars per barrel).
But, forgetting corruption, oil prices have fallen far below the benchmark, that if Nigeria does not borrow, the government won;t be able to pay nothing, nada, zilch in salaries, contracts, etc. Which means people would be out of money and out of luck.
That is why, since we got independent, we should have gone industrial...but no. All of you calling for army rule...the times we have had army rule, none of them did the needful and improved industrial development. We have never had a general park type ruler. And we never will because of our oil dependent narrative.
Tinubu should have raised money by raising our tax to gdp ratio, raising income from alternative means, and by actually fighting corruption, and also by encouraging diversification. (I don't want to hear any it takes time to do things). And he should have removed power subsides as well....so that the sector can grow. And he should have started all this on June 1 2023.
Manufactured goods and services. Dutch disease.
Oil is a CURSE. Interesting thought, unfortunately most of our political office holders are not cerebral enough to appreciate this line of thought, they are mostly merchantile in nature and transactional in their dealings, both recipe for disaster for a nation struggling for identity |

If you want to turn your people to Houthis, you need to first have your own country like the Houthis and remember to get an Iran to back you and huge mountain terrains that you can build long tunnel under. Yemen is Houthis and Houthis is Yemen. Nigeria is Nigeria so you are comparing apples and oranges.
That you have drones doesn't translate into reason to jump into war or insurrection.
