I've worked as a PA to a billionaire before, and I learnt a lot about the lifestyles and mindsets of extremely wealthy people. Eventually, though, I had to walk away to protect my mental health.

One thing I observed was that having billions doesn't necessarily translate to having peace of mind. Some of these people accumulate so much wealth, yet seem unhappy, dissatisfied and angry. It's almost as if the obsession with making more money comes at the expense of their own happiness and the well-being of those around them.

This dude could literally wake up in the morning in a foul mood and decide that everyone around him must suffer for it. We'd resume work in the morning, and before you knew it, he was shouting at everyone, including his own policemen. 😂

Once I closed in the evenings, I switch off my phone and wouldn't even pick his calls on weekends. Something that constantly annoyed him. 😂. You can't take away my peace of mind during working hours and still expect unlimited access to me after work. I get life too na!

I worked for eight months, saved some money and furthered my education and got a better-paying job with better working hours, one that actually aligned with my field.

That experience taught me that wealth and power don't necessarily translate to happiness, contentment or good character. And often times, the people who work for them and eventually the society end up paying the price for their quest for wealth.

Life is too short abeg.

I do use ATMs frequently as it's close to my house. POS agents are closer but their rates are exorbitant. When I factor in how often I withdraw money, I rather withdraw from an ATM, then keep cash at home instead of always going to POS to withdraw 10k to spend at 300.

I got married with the hope to relocate with my wife to Canada but I did not tell her. When we were planning our traditional marriage she betrayed me that even till date I don't trust her again. Her people gave me a crazy marriage list and I had plenty fall out with them which I later discover that it was her who was telling them how to extort me and etc. How did I found out? Her phone would auto record every call and one day she went to salon and left her phone at home so I used it to make call and I wanted to delete the record and that's how I listen some of her calls with her mother. Long and short of this gist is I knew that even though she is calm, respectful and supportive but having a woman who listen to her people and tell them everything in her home will be a disaster if you take her abroad. Well, the banks use predictive analysis in algorithms to detect and check which transactions are valid or suspicious.

For example, if your highest transactional amount is ₦50, 000 and your account received a credit of ₦5,000,000, your account will be flagged by the algorithms. Then sometimes, the bank may post a temporary PND restrictions on your account and then write you an email or call you to confirm source of funds.

If you have experienced it, don't panic. If your money is legit, simply carry relevant documentation of the transaction to the bank. Fraud analysts will investigate properly. If it is legit, the bank will remove the PND restrictions on your account.

I once sold a domain for $200 about some years ago, payout was 187 or so.,I told the registrar to send it to my Nigerian Zenith bank naira account which was a big mistake because that was the first time I knew I had an account officer. He called me to come to the bank and I went with confidence since everything was legit.

He asked me to provide source of funds, I sent him the email I got from the sale, sent him confirmation from the registrar. Asked him to Google the registrar and see that everything is legit after all the sender details will show that it's from the registrar and everything is legit.

He called after some days and said the bank (fraud analyst team like you said maybe) rejected the proof I sent. I then told them to return the money back to the registrar and I collected I contacted those ones to send it to my PayPal account.

But money isn't gender specific because in a country where 'bills shout louder than romance', you as a woman shouldn't be expecting your man to work himself to the grave to provide. If he brings 65%, you help with the remaining 35% after all, the two of you are one flesh.

A serious criminal case involving psychologically traumatized citizens who were unfortunate to got caught in the trap of beastly terrorists, people who were kept away for months under harsh weather conditions, sleepless night etc. these are school kids and adult somebodies' fathers, mothers, uncle and aunts, sons and daughters of innocent citizens you just dismissed their case as mere BLACKMAIL simply because you are sweating hard to protect those whom you claim to support?

Chief not just you feel this way, I'm honestly beyond disgusted.

I've just confirmed that a disturbing number of this government's supporters on NL are utterly despicable. In their warped, pathetic little echo chamber, they've somehow convinced themselves that because some of us are critical of this government, we must have been rooting for innocent children and teachers to remain in captivity, to suffer longer in the bush, to endure even more trauma, or worse, to be unalived.

Think about how morally bankrupt that is.

You're looking at children who were abducted, families who lived through weeks of absolute terror, teachers who suffered alongside them, and your first instinct is to turn it into a loyalty test for politicians? Your first reaction is to type 'Obidients won't sleep well tonight.'

That isn't political disagreement. That's the complete erosion of basic human decency.

I read those threads and I just shook my head. The sheer lack of empathy was staggering. Everything has become "our side" versus "their side," to the point where even the suffering of innocent children is weaponized for cheap political points.

What the hell happened to being human first? Since when did compassion become partisan? When did people become so blinded by politics that they could look at traumatized children and think, "This is an opportunity to score points against the opposition"?

Some of you on NL seriously need to log off and reconnect with your humanity.

In as much as we know how despicable this government is by using the lives of innocent teachers and children to settle scores, we should be glad that the children and teachers have been 'released' to go back to their families after 51 days.

Even if you're not a fan of this government, we can at least glory in the comfort of the families and let the unfortunate people supporting this government be proud that a insecurity has become their badge of honor and only highlight of achievement.
