She didn't paint the picture of dating out of pity. Instead, she painted the picture of someone that is confused and doesn't really know what she wants. Remember she said she and her present guy have been friends before they started dating. What better way to sustain a relationship of friends turned lovers? It takes time to love o.. No be instant sparky and butterfly attraction..

You see that spark and the better qualities she talks about in the new guy? Like people were asking her - What happens when she finds someone with better qualities than this one that's turning her head upandan? What sustains love isn't feelings but commitment.

I only pity the poor guy that thinks he has a loyal lady. I just hope she helps him by leaving him now so he can find a more mature lady.

I generally advise that the email should focus on how you found their profile, show your previous research or experience relate to their interest, and express your interest in graduate study. I prefer it to be very brief and tailored to the prof interest and past research because I know they probably receive thousand of email requesting their support.

I don’t advise proposing a research topic unless you have enough supervisors. I have noticed that some will reject you not because they don’t have space, but because they don’t like your research topic or proposal. Canada writing style, active, is also slightly different from usual training and style in Nigeria, passive. So, some may judge your proposal poorly.

To save myself all this headache, considering that most research topic will likely change finally, I just don’t mention any topic or add proposal to my email except the prof ask for it. Even if they do, I will say it in a way that I am open to other topic or methods.

Don't collect his/her/shis (I no even know which pronoun I go use) money if you don't want to go. If you do, there's no difference between you and those hush guys.
