as always, many thanks for your response.

justwise:
Nothing out of ordinary about receiving a call like that, many receive a call when the embassy wants to clarify few things as part of visa processing procedures

WHat does this phone call mean and why do they do that. I ask coz this is the first time i'm getting a call from them.

Now I am Anxious and panicky. Please say a prayer for me as I am desperate for my mom's help over here as the baby is on its way soon.

Thank you ever so much for all your responses- Ekpotek, blza, ijeshalomo, justwise.

Now here is a bit of background on this issue. My visited us in Nov 2016 and left feb 2017. Now I am with child and due to give birth soon. TBH I really want her to come and stay for about 5months and help me with the new child. Please I humbly ask that you advice me based on the questions below…

The thing is now-
(1) what to say in my cover letter as reason why she overstayed the first time (yes it was a family visit visa)
(2) if I state that I want her to stay for five months, do you think they’d think its ludicrous and not grant her? If yes, do I state that yes I want her to come and help me with the new baby?

(3) I stated that she was unemployed and has a husband in her first visa and didn’t provide any bank statements from her, rather I supplied my husbands and our land registry docs and passport docs.
(4) What do they look for in a bank statement? The fact that one has a huge lump sum of money or ability to prove that money comes in and out regardless of what is in there at a given time?

You have no right to tell me not to write anything about what you posted after all this is a public forum and tell him he's on his own.

Thanks very much TheCongo2
TheCongo2:
Having a 2 year visa doesn't mean a person can stay in the US for 2 years.

Whenever someone enters the US, the immigration at the point of entry will stamp in his passport the time the person will be allowed to stay on the US territory. Though your brother has a 2 years visa, they may allow him to stay up to 6 months on a trip. So, if your brother goes beyond the time indicated on the I-94 then he has violated the terms of his visa.If that is the case, it will be closed to impossible to get another US visa.

So how is he planning to switch to permanent resident status? If I were you I would advise him to stay away from the wrong crowd. He may end up out of status with no way out.

With all due respect, don't make it seem as if i asked a daft question. If you don't feel the need to advise me,surely some other person may.

The reason for the question is to validate my fears (or not) from other people's view which will lead me to vehemently insist that he comes home as soon as possible (as he previously didn't want to take my advice, saying many friends over there are advising him to take the risk and that it's no biggie) , if staying till near the end of his visa will cause him to be denied entry next time.

Does this sound right to you? Is he doing something legal? Do you expect us to really advice you?

Hello everyone!

Please advise me on this situation of my brother.
He is in the US on his last round of his 2 years tourist visa. He is working (a job) currently with this visa, (I guess its illegal). the question is - if he goes back to nigeria to renew and go back to the US will there be any consequences?

Will you advice that he continues to stay in in the US and not go back home until whenever he is able to sort his green card out?

please advice. Many thanks.

Ijeshalomo:
You should be sincere with your application since you would be accommodating her, the financial aspect should not be a burden on her. She should provide a statement of account that will take care of her return flight. You can state 3months in her application.
thanks a lot
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Julify13: 9:53am On Dec 19, 2017
ekpotek:
1. Was there any particular reasons for her over stay? If yes state the reasons and be honest about it. If there was no reason simply apologize.

2. State the correct numbers of days for the visit and support it with documents. In this case, your anti natal visits, hospital bills, expected date of delivery, emotional needs etc to justify her long stay.

3. Enclose the same documents you submitted for her previous visa, and update yours.

4. If you did not submit her bank statement in her previous application and she got the visa, then you do not need to submit any.

Like I said, her application will be assessed based on justifiable reasons for her last over stay.
many thanks smiley

Hello everyone.

Please i'd appreciate if anybody would help me further with a uk renewal visit visa i'm currently completing for my mom. she visited in the past on a 6month visa. i stated that she'd stay for two weeks but she ended up staying for 4months -do I need to address this in this next application? if yes,how please.

secondly, considering the first question above, will it be ideal for me to increase her stay time this time around or just stick to the initial two weeks?

will it be sensible if i went for a two years visa? sorry for all these questions, I get really nervous and anxious when it come to visa issues.... would really appreciate any helpful response. many thanks.
