The crisis rocking the Christ Embassy Church is about to get messier as The Nigerian Times can reveal that Rev. Ken Oyakhilome, younger brother of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, founder of the Church has also been accused of fornication and adultery.

Last week, reports emerged in the media that Rev. Anita, wife of the charismatic and ‘pastorpreneuer,’ popularly known as Pastor Chris, had filed for divorce in the UK, citing ‘adultery’ and ‘unreasonable behaviour.’ As the news made the round, it was met with disbelief by members of the Christ Embassy Church who revere Pastor Chris and were in the dark on the marital crises facing the couple.

Now the scandal may even get worse. Pastor Chris’ younger brother, known in the Church circle as Rev. Ken, was alleged to have impregnated a South African lady, name withheld, a member of the Church in Randburg, Guateng, which is the headquarters of Christ Embassy, South Africa. Rev. Ken, used to be the regional pastor of Christ Embassy in charge of South Africa until a few years when he was transferred to the branch of the church in Texas, USA.
The Nigerian Times’s sources say the romance between Rev. Ken and the member was an open secret among members of the Church in South Africa and the alleged pregnancy of the lady was said to have ruffled feathers among the top echelons of church but was hushed in order to prevent a scandal. Ondo state governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko on Friday formally declared his intention to dump the Labour Party and join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The governor informed members of his cabinet and close political associates in a chain of meetings which took place on Friday at the Government House in Akure.

Also confirming the development, Femi Fani-Kayode tweeted: “Glad to see that my friend Gov. Segun Mimiko has left the Labour Party and returned back to the PDP. Welcome back home brother.”

Zero Naira Transaction Fee. This is what applies to all United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc customers who decide to use the bank’s ATMs. They will pay nothing. Zero.

UBA has one of the widest network of ATMs and business offices across the country. This means most of its customers have access to an ATM close to their location, no matter where they are in Nigeria.

UBA also operates in 18 African countries outside Nigeria, and also has presence in New York, London and Paris.

The CBN recently issued a directive on the introduction of N65 ATM cash withdrawal transaction fee, which will come into effect from September 1, 2014.

This fee will be applied, when a Cardholder uses his or her Card on another Bank’s ATM. The fee will however be applied after the customer is allowed three free withdrawals per month. On the fourth withdrawal from another bank’s ATM, the customer will be subject to a N65 transaction fee per withdrawal.

UBA Cardholders will not be subject to this N65 fee, as long as they use the bank’s ATM, no matter how many transactions they engage in on UBA ATM.

To ensure UBA customers do not have a reason to use other bank’s ATM, the bank has put in place strategies to ensure that all its ATMs are always up, no matter the time of the day or location.

Abia State Governor, Chief Theodore Orji, has said the opposition All Progressive Congress ( APC) , can not win a polling booth in the state in the 2015 general elections as the party ” does not exist in Abia”.

Governor Orji who was reacting to a recent boasting by Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State who said APC would take over Abia in 2015, said Okorocha is suffering from acute malaria even as he advised him to seek medical examination.

Okorocha who represented by his Deputy, Prince Eze Madumere, had while addressing a stakeholders’ meeting of the South East chapter of APC held in Umuahia , said APC would sack PDP from the seat of power in the state come 2015

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Charles Ajunwa, Governor Orji reminded the Imo State Governor that “Imo people are still regretting their mistake of 2011 when he was voted into power under false pretense as a political messiah which he has proved not to be”.

Governor Orji told Okorocha that most of his “policies and programmes which are neither here nor there have rather taken Imo State backwards” while he parades himself as a progressive leader.

” Your rescue mission has failed to rescue Imo and how do you think you can deceive Abians with your political rhetoric and gimmicks? People are now wiser, your tricks in 2011 cannot work for you again. Stop deceiving yourself because South-east has no space for you and your APC in 2015″.

The Governor also told Okorocha to ” stop wasting Imo resources on his imaginary Vice – Presidential ambition but instead deploy them on projects that will benefit the ordinary man as exemplified in Abia “, adding that “very soon it will dawn on Okorocha that he has travelled deep into a political wilderness accompanied by sycophants who will soon desert him.”

He said that contrary to Okorocha’s propaganda, his PDP – led administration in Abia has posted some undeniable legacy projects across the state which “the likes of Okorocha will never be able to achieve.”

He therefore, advised the Imo Governor to fight for his political survival as his abysmal performances so far in office has proved him to be a disappointment rather than the messiah he claimed to be.

Governor Orji assured that in 2015 PDP would replicate the victory it recorded in 2011 when it was overwhelming voted by the people of the state and South-east at large based on the antecedents of its candidates which they have continued to consolidate on.

On Wednesday, August 13, 2014, the Association of Nigeria Theatre-Arts Practitioners (ANTP) Elders met at the private residence of the Chairman, ANTP-Incorporated Trustees, Chief Lere Paimo (MFR), in Ibadan, Oyo State after his acceptance of the position and perusal the so-called aggrieved ANTP members demand of Ashaolu’s removal and thus gave him (Ashaolu) a clean health of bill and also passed vote of confidence on Victor Ashaolu on his leadership style and acumen, in the running of the affairs of the Association.

The ANTP Elders also abided into-to with the resolutions and decisions taken at the 2014 ANTP 4th quadrennial delegates conference held on Friday, July 11, 2014 at Orange Hotels, Bolorunduro, Ilesa, Osun State being a legally and constitutionally conference, for it is ANTP constitution that stipulated 4- to -4 years for the conference, as the last one was actually held on February 26, 2010, but has to be shifted to July 2014 because of the long period of almost three and half years that the litigation lasted, before the Association secured its victory in Court on January 30, 2014 before Justice M.O. Bolaji Yusuf.

The ANTP Elders also commended and praised the delegates conference resolutions and decisions on burning issueslike Tenure – by regarding the period spent on the litigation as crises and transition period, as the elected officers should now be regarded as just starting their 1st tenure in office from LG Chapters to National level till July 2018 and in particular, also, on finance -as they directed the National President (Ashaolu), the newly elected National General Secretary (Mr. Najeen Tijani Kapor) and the elected Treasurer (Mrs. Abiola Ayeni Adejumo) to go and open an account for the Association, as soon as all the outstanding elections are completed, in other not to create confusion and mixed up in the account. Also, that the National President, should prepare all the income and expenditure’s Account that might have been spent or received in the name of the Association by him, for proper accountability and to also on availability of fund, set-up a proper office Administrative setting and look for a better office accommodation, with consultation with the National Working Committee and for the National Executive Council’s approval.

In the health sector, government has supplied drugs and equipment to 13 general hospitals and 43 primary health centres as well as remodeled Ilorin, Offa, Omu-Aran, Share and Kaiama General Hospitals to state-of-the-art hospitals. The Community Health Insurance Scheme, through which enrollees receive year round healthcare for N500, has been extended to 80,000 beneficiaries and has been adjudged as one of the most successful by the United Nations.

To achieve its target of ensuring access to clean water within 500-metre radius, the state government has rehabilitated 17 waterworks spread across the state, sunk about 400 boreholes and it is on the verge of completing the Ilorin Water Reticulation Project, which will bring pipe-borne water to all homes in the metropolis.

For these laudable policies and programmes, Governor Ahmed has won recognition from several quarters. Dr. Otti, who is also the Chairman of Committee of Bank CEOs in Nigeria, has over 25 years industry experience in the Nigerian Banking Sector, having started his career in Citibank in 1989.

He started his banking career with Nigeria International Bank Limited, a subsidiary of Citibank N.Y. in 1989 where he worked in the Operations Department. He subsequently moved on to Nigerian Intercontinental Merchant Bank Ltd (now Intercontinental Bank Plc).

At Intercontinental, he was at various times in the Treasury and Financial Services and Corporate Banking Divisions. In 1992, he joined the then Societe Bancaire Nigeria Ltd (Merchant Bankers), a subsidiary of Banque SBA Paris. He left as Senior Manager in 1996. Towards the end of 1996, he moved to United Bank for Africa Plc as Principal Manager, heading Corporate Banking Sector, South. His major responsibility was the development of the Oil and Gas businesses for the Bank. In the year 2000, he was promoted Assistant General Manager.

In May 2001, he joined First Bank of Nigeria Plc as an Assistant General Manager with responsibility for Energy Group. In April 2004, he was promoted Deputy General Manager. In September 2005, Alex Otti was appointed Executive Director in First Bank Nigeria Plc. As Executive Director, he started as Head of Commercial Banking and subsequently, Head of the Regional Businesses in the South-Southern and South-Eastern Geo-Political Zones comprising over 180 branches.

As a result of his leadership style and giant strides, the Public Policy Research and Analysis Centre, PPRAC, at an event organised recently, honoured the Bank’s boss with the 2013 Zik Leadership Prize. This, Otti won in the Professional Leadership category.

So where do you operate from Owerri?

I have an office in Lagos; I have been in Lagos all my life. That was where I grew up, I also went to school in Lagos. But my car hire service operates from PortHacourt, Lagos and Abuja and I have few of those cars in Owerri.


Do you have any political interest?

No, my political interest is because I am a political activist, and the essence is to campaign for good governance. You talk of good and credibility to operate the governance. If a leader is not a good person he can’t be a good leader. You don’t give what you don’t have. So I basically campaign against corruption.

The last seems not to have been heard about impeached former governor of Adamawa State, Muritala Nyako who refused to appear before the panel over allegation of diversion of state fund , extra budgetary, fraudulent awards and illegal deductions leveled against him by the Adamawa House of Assembly. The legislators had rolled 20 allegations and most outstanding is the N8billion contract awarded to Hon. Nicolas Ukachukwu’s SNECOU Group of companies which allegedly got N8billion from the Adamawa State and defaulted in executing the said contract. SNECOU is said to be enmeshed in embezzlement and misappropriation of public fund.

Other alleged fraudulent deals of the former governor as stated by the Adamawa State of Assembly are Fraudulent diversion of N2.3 billion Adamawa State workers’ salary for September and October, 2011, Illegal deductions and diversions of the sum of N142 million emoluments of Adamawa State workers in May 2014, diversion of N120 million to sponsor fictitious visit of General Muhammadu Buhari to Adamawa State to commiserate with victims of insurgency in Madagili and Michika Local Government Areas, extra-budgetary expenditure of N1,740,785,246 fictitious special assistants and another N166,230,536.88 on Personal Assistants in 2013, fraudulent award of contract of over N8 billion through SNECOU Group of Companies Ltd, a company linked to one of the governor’s wife, to siphon public funds without delivering any services to the people of Adamawa State, corrupt siphoning of the sum of N300 million public funds through a company, Hydrosource Resources Ltd in the name of construction of Mubi by-pass without mobilizing to site or any construction one carried out long after collecting N300 million from Adamawa State funds, gross violation of the Oath of Office by outrageous patronage and dominance of family and friends in the discharge of government business such as found in the MDGs Office, the SPPU and Ministry of Health, gross violation of Section 120 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended) and gross misappropriation of Internally Generated Revenue for personal use to the detriment of the people of Adamawa State,

Though he was due for retirement early this year, the Commandant General of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, who has decided to sit tight in the office is in the midst of a scandal.

The highly flamable scandal revolves round Millions of Naira the embattled Commandant, Mr. Ade Abolurin, and his front have diverted in the last eight years as Commandant.

Sources confirmed to that since January 2014, the Headquarter through the office of the commandant have been involved in the deductions of N10,000 from each personnel earnings. While the staff strength of the Command stands at 750, the Commandant general is alleged to be paying over 2,000 personnel who are believed to be a conduit.

A petition by one Olalekan Olukayode, states that between 2010, and 2014 when he enlisted into the Corps, he has helped in facilitating the transfer of Millions of Naira abroad for the Commandant.

Olukayode, in his petition claimed he has traveled twice within a year on a course slated for six personnel and paid N60 Million for each trip.

Another area of fraud and abuse according to the petition is volunteers pay, while the Commandant is on record that Volunteers are paid N1.5m quarterly, documents obtained by revealed that only N30,000 is being paid. Source within the office of the corpse also confirmed to our reporter that contrary to the commandant’s claim, only N30,000 is being paid to volunteers quarterly.

The Managing Director of a Lagos based financial institution Stretchout Finance/Exclusive Rendezvous, Mr Stanley Acho has been dragged to the Zone 2 Force Headquarters, Obalende, Lagos for impregnating and sleeping with a customer of his bank, Kudirat Balogun.
According to a statement given to journalists, the woman, a trader and customer of the bank applied for a loan of 2.5 million naira at the bank and met the bank’s Managing Director, Stanley who copied her number from the form and was always calling to tell the woman of how he was attracted to her the first day they met.
The woman, a single mother was said to have fell for the banker’s good looks and sweet tongue and they started dating exactly a month after she went to the bank and has paid the loan she got from the bank.
Their amorous affair was said to have gained ground with the man telling her that his wife was unable to give him a male son and promised to marry Kudirat as a second wife if she can get pregnant and bear him a male child.
The affair was said to have taken a new dimension when the woman got pregnant and was asked by the Bank boss to terminate the baby with the excuse that his wife had threatened to kill him if he decides to take a second wife.
