Religion may not always be logical but if u have experienced supernatural things you will be unable to deny the existence of unseen powers.

Many people hold onto religion despite its conflicts with logic because they have experienced the supernatural.... you can deny and reject what you are told....but you cant deny an experience.

The discussion of how rational and logical God is opens a whole new discourse that can never be concluded. The discussion of who exactly is the way to God from Buddhism to hinduism to islam to christianity is a discussion that goes on forever.

But there is a supernatural world and anyone that has experienced it can no longer be an atheist......just a person wondering what the supreme being is really up to

NB: I know that many people hold onto religion without any experience with supernatural things. These are the people that later on drop religion or keep trying to rationalise why God exists and i dont think its their fault.

You don't have to be an adherent to any religion (especially the Abrahamic ones) to believe in the esoterics. I'm not an Atheist by the way.

I was born into a Christian home. My parents were staunch Methodists. They say Methodism was born in songs,so I knew and loved all the songs and hymns.I was taught the bible from a little age by my mother. I had my coloured book of Bible stories. I attended church regularly and by the time I was sixteen I set out to read the bible from Genesis to Revelation.
I found myself questioning so many of the stories in the bible and the glaring contradictions. First of all I asked my mother and of course she had no answers but tried to give the answers she felt were right.
I asked my school teachers and they couldn't give me the answers I desired. I asked pastors, the result was the same. No answers. Over the years I read the bible from cover to cover a couple of more times and the doubts still persisted.
I got married and had children. I brought my family up in the Christian way but the doubts persisted in my mind.
I guess I was so afraid of the threat of hell fire that I could not break free from the chains of religion that bound me down.
Then came the internet and availability of information in the click of a button. I realised I was not alone in my doubts about religion. I browsed a lot of websites and realised I had been programmed from birth to live a lie. The shackles fell off and I was finally free. Free from fear of everlasting punishment in hell fire. Free from dogma and contradiction.
I love my life and I can never go back.
As for my family I don't force any one to toe my line. The choice is open to them to choose if they want to go with religion or not.

Revealing. Fear was a very effective tool used to ground most of us. And to think that he'll only started existing in the scriptures just a hundred years ago just makes it even more interesting.

Yep, you get to understand what liberty is and how as an adult responsibility is squarely on you. Freedom is bittersweet.

My journey was long in the making but came to a head when I asked myself can all these things you know about god stand on their own without you defending them? In other words if you were not a believer and someone presented this to you, would you accept it as true? The entire thing crumbled as I realised that I couldn't do any of these things. To continue to believe in god, I had to continue to defend what I could see had no bearing in reality or I have to convince myself that these things are true contrary to evidence stating me in the face. That realisation put paid to faith and made me face up to reality. I am honestly much more relaxed, at peace and [code]content[/code. then I ever was as a Christian.

Asking me to be a Christian again is as good as me taking a look at the prison cell I just left and asking me to go back inside of my own volition. No way José, ain't gonna happen. If a god exists, then he/she/it must have a different way of reaching out to me cos it is not through religion.

My moment of enlightenment came when I was at the lowest of lows, realizing that whatever direction my life is to follow, it's all up to me. Making excuses for some phantom entity would lead me nowhere.

I believe every one of us is a god. Reach inside of you to feel him and not look up to the sky for the grey-haired papa.

I already over worked my brain but I'll keep it short. It happens when I noticed even some close relative (pastors and prophetesses) use the name of God to Lay claims and false prophesy that is obvious. It takes a bold mind come out of shackles of religion. The fear of hell and false prophesy is why some are being dogma to their prophet

I agree.

The final blow that shattered the entire structure of religion in me was when I realised that Christianity is just only some Jew's explanation for some unexplained phenomenons and code of conducts to guide them. Other cultures have theirs and I couldn't bring myself to understand why we must adopt theirs.

It started when I asked myself why I was a Christian and the only answer I could come up with was born into a Christian home and nothing more.

Then came a seminarian who lectured me on the history of the church, this only increased my scepticism to a significant level. I didn't stop there, I questioned everything I accepted to be true and I wasn't getting satisfactory answers from those I've always looked forward to.

On further studies, I began to see the similarities between religions that pre-dated Christianity and how the culture of its practitioners at different times in history influence it, and how it's then used to manipulate people in numerous ways.

I then realized that what's kept me this long in Christianity is nothing but "Guilt" for something I know nothing about and also the fear of "Hell". Once I got rid of them, I found peace deep inside me. The only thing that unsettles me these days is having to listen to some of these preachers disrespect my intellect with their non-sensical gibberish.

In this part of the world where religion (especially the foreign ones) controls our outlook on life and how we relate to the world, it's somewhat an anomaly when one takes a bold step to dissociate himself from the religion practiced by their families and the society they were born into.

Despite the deriding and sometimes in more severe cases - ostracization from a social group - you still hooked onto your dis-beliefs and had to stay true to yourself. There're strong enough reasons informing on your decision, I'm interested in hearing them. Mine would be in the comment section below.

We have a young team now, if he returns, he will distort the harmony they are enjoying and draw the team back when it comes to chemistry.

For understanding and team play, those playing where he plays are better off team wise.

I don't know about his play of recent since he moved to Turkey and now Italy, but I doubt if he is better than before.

Vic Moses is washed up already.. Seen few of his games at Inter. There's no value he could possibly add to our team presently.

I think I agree with you on this

Rohr won’t sign that contract

Many people here will be happy also ,because about 40 percent of them here don’t like rohr

I don't like Rohr and I advocated for his sack immediately after the World Cup.

Sacking him now is really wrong timing as he's been able to bring a bit of stability to the team.

This season 4 is annoyingly irritating even though I'm not quitting. The show producers just want to milk the show for the hype it is getting while penning down mediocre plot.

The show will end up just like Prison Break which went from batshit good to dumpster fire. If it's not family issue, it's love issue or relationship problems. Tokyo taking over makes no damn sense. They'd just end the show after season 5 before they ruin it further.

I agree!

Ending the show at 5 would be the best thing that could happen the the show.

Palermo decided to help the enemy too. It was like watching a show for 10year olds

I wonder what the producers were thinking. Show was the definition of mediocre.

Game of thrones had 7 good seasons. Your beloved Money Heist is struggling in its 4th season. You must be a clown to mention Game of thrones final season as a point.

Using Twitter as a reference point for popularity is ridiculous. Despite the ridiculousness, GOT outshines money heist.
The petitions against game of thrones season 8 trended for weeks. Your money heist cannot trend past 3 days sef.

I'm just showing you how wide the gap in the two tv shows are.

It is not by quantity (popularity) but by quality. The flash tv show has millions of followers. Just so you know.

There are many more popular and better shows than Money Heist. Even Prison Break at its height was better.

He's not even mentioning "Billions" and he's bringing money heist in comparison? That's gotta be the joke of the century.

Just finished money heist season 4 and it was pathetic to say the least. Series should have ended with season 2.

We have Palermo who decides to revolt cos Tokyo took charge helping the head of security Guendia to break free (this makes no sense my matter how I try to see it)

Guendia is John wick, the punisher and superman rolled into one. All those shots and man didn't die. Lol. So no one thought to use the governor as leverage to end his supposed madness before it began.

Cheesy dialogues, childish fighting. It was annoying in season one and two but one could argue they just got to know each other.. It was pretty lame how they'd all point guns at each other and throw tantrums and the most minimal things.

The CNI are pretty dumb for guys named central national intelligence. The inconsistent and movement in timelines was bizzare. One moment Marseille is in Algeria, the next he's back in Spain and several other examples.

Nairobi should have died from the sniper shot.

All in all this season was a filler of some sort cos they're back to the beginning again. The heist itself took second place cos all we had was Guendia (John wick) running around causing chaos that shouldn't have existed in the first place for like 4 episodes and Lisbon broken out of jail.

Some would enjoy it. Others wouldn't but this is my honest review as someone who liked the first two seasons and even recommended it to friends. It's just dumb at this point. My two cents.

Happy Palm Sunday

I watched it too, skipping all those soppy parts.

There were no valid basis for Tokyo taking over Palermo as the leader, none at all.

Like someone said earlier, it's another telenovela with guns.

season 1 was good...I lived it...
But after about 15 or so episodes in season 2...it was clear the series was going nowhere...
It had a very good premise but no direction to move it forward...I didn't even feel the death of his wife...
The entire series lost direction in season 2...
Same way Blacklist lost direction

The two series have the same thing in common... wonderful premise but storylines without direction...

Killing off that "Catalan" character weakened the story line.

NCDC set up eight labs, with more investment in that same time frame, they would have set up more. I am not buying that crap that it takes time to set up labs.

If South Africa could improvise to have 67 mobile sites, we have no excuse to still play around with a meagre 8 when one was even donated by StanbicIBTC to the best of my knowledge.

That's for a population under 60 million, comparing that with 8 labs to Carter for over 200 million people. This calls for serious concern.

'You're just SH*T!' - Eto'o & Drogba slam medical professors over 'racist' remarks coronavirus vaccine tests should be conducted in Africa

Two doctors had suggested on French television that testing for a potential vaccine against Covid-19 should happen in Africa.

Samuel Eto'o and Didier Drogba have hit back angrily at “racist and contemptuous” comments made by two doctors on French television suggesting studies on drugs to combat coronavirus should be tested in Africa.

Former Chelsea and Senegal forward Demba Ba posted a video of the exchange on Twitter.

Ba commented: “Welcome to the West, where white people believe themselves to be so superior that racism and stupidity become commonplace. TIME TO RISE.”

The comments in question regard the potential testing of the BCG vaccine, generally used against tuberculosis, as a preventative measure against Covid-19.

"If I can be provocative, shouldn't we do this study in Africa where there are no masks, no treatment, no resuscitation?"
asked Professor Jean-Paul Mira, head of the intensive care unit at the Cochin Hospital in Paris.

“The same as for some AIDS studies where prostitutes try things because we know they’re unprotected”.

Professor Camille Locht, research director at Inserm, replied: "You are right. We are currently thinking in parallel about a study in Africa to make this same type of approach with the BCG.

“There is a tender process that has gone out or is going to go out. We will seriously think about that.

“That doesn’t prevent us from thinking in parallel about a study in Europe and Australia.”

Cameroon legend Eto’o replied to Ba’s video on Twitter: “Sons of bitches,” before adding in a post on Instagram: “You are just SH*T. Africa isn’t yours to play with.”

Drogba also called out the comments as “absurd”, with the two-time African Footballer of the Year clearly appalled by any suggestion African people should be used “as guinea pigs”.

“It is inconceivable that we continue to accept this,” Drogba wrote on Twitter. “Africa is not a laboratory.

“I strongly denounce these serious, racist and contemptuous remarks!

“Help us save lives in Africa and stop the spread of this virus which is destabilising the whole world, instead of considering us as guinea pigs. It is absurd!

“African leaders have a responsibility to protect people from these heinous plots.”

BCG is only one of numerous vaccines and antiviral drugs being considered for its potential against coronavirus.

Vaccines must go through rigorous testing and development stages before they can be approved for widespread use and enter mass production.

Common estimates from scientists suggest a viable vaccine against Covid-19 is likely to be at least 18 months away from being ready for public use.

This shouldn't surprise anyone.

How valuable are our lives to our so called leaders?

Well..., the idea is you want something that’d open your eyes and you wouldn’t find difficult to learn thereby discouraging you. Python would open your mind to basic of programming such as data/control structures (If I have money, I can buy a phone, else I cannot), loops/iterations and all.

That said, you can also use python (django) for web development.

Alternatively,
For web, you can learn html, then proceed to CSS, and then JavaScript.
Mobile has variants; you either go with hybrid (one app for Android, iOS) or native (java or kotlin for android; swift for iOS). For hybrid, just learn one language unlike native where you’ve got to learn each of the ones you’re interested in developing (iOS and/or android)

If you’re learning mobile, you may not need to learn python.

Thanks so much for this.

This has given me the perfect head start.

Hello friend,

I congratulate you on your decision to venture into the programming world.

Do have it at the back of your mind that you’d face hurdles at many points but those would make and mould you, anytime you come across any issue, take a break and then go back to it.

You’d be needing google as you sojourn in this journey, YouTube in some cases, books in some others.

It’s recommended starters go with python being that it’s easier to learn.

Your area of interest would also matter; be it mobile apps, web apps, and a couple of others.

You can do it, you can make it, do not give up!

For someone whose interest is in web & mobile apps development, would Python still be the best place to start?
