Trump is idio*tic
Even a thirsty warmonger like Bush avoided going to war with Iran knowing very well that that was the most stupi##dest of thing anyone could do.
How do you go to war with a 6,000 years civilization that held the Rome Republic and the Romans to a 700 years of war which ended in stalemates after stalemates. 😂🤣
The arrogance is being beaten out of trump |

Iranians are great people but their government is evil and has stifled their development with bullshit. you lot don't learn.... As happens all the time, the good guys will finish last. Countries that avoid unwinnable wars survive, while those who dont perish. Look at Iraq, Libya, Venezuela etc. Advise your friends realistically not emotionally. Thank you for your attention to this matter!
DJT...Donald Jesus Trump! You don't seem to know the Persians er Their fighting spirit is what made them a world super power a few years ago and for this same reason, empires around them avoided going to war with them when they were weak. The Russians, the Turks and the Arab all learnt not to mess with them. The US and Israel are going to learn the same lesson |

AfriqueDuZuid12: consumers in South Africa pay several taxes on new cars manufactured in the country. While locally-made cars avoid import duties, they are subject to other significant taxes that form a substantial part of the final retail price. The primary taxes included in the purchase price are:
Value Added Tax (VAT): A standard 15% VAT is charged on all new vehicles, regardless of origin.
Ad Valorem Excise Duty (Luxury Tax): This is a tax on goods considered non-essential or luxury items. It is a progressive tax (ranging from 0.75% to 30%) based on the vehicle's price, and applies to both imported and locally produced cars.
Carbon Emissions Tax (Environmental Levy): An environmental tax is levied on new internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles based on their \(\text{CO}_{2}\) emissions per kilometer. This applies to both local and imported models, with higher-emitting cars incurring a higher charge.
Tyre Levy: An environmental levy is also applied to tyres, which contributes to the overall cost of the vehicle.
Other Fees: The final price also includes dealer delivery, licensing, and administration fees.
These taxes combined can account for a significant portion of a new car's price, often exceeding 30% for standard vehicles and even higher for premium models. Still not comparable You have it easy |

AfriqueDuZuid12: South Africa involves significant taxes, primarily a 25% Customs Duty (import tariff) on passenger cars, plus Value Added Tax (VAT) at 15% on the total value (including duties), and potentially an Ad Valorem Duty (0.75% to 20%), leading to total costs potentially reaching 60% of the vehicle's value
Taxes is not unique to ghana we also pay them why do you like to lie ..... No one pays customs tax on cars built in South Africa like the golfs |

AfriqueDuZuid12: So you telling me me yall so backward 90% choose used cars over new cars? you're just not correct You think it is by choice, it is just a tax policy. Are South Africans that backward that they choose fuvked up Golf over even better cars ? Since the cars we want are not built in Ghana, and the tax on importing is around 30% to 50% of the MSRP. we will rather buy the same car with around 6,000 miles to 20,000 miles at half the cost of MSRP, pay shipping and duty to sum it up around the same MSRP than to buy it brand new and pay a 35% duty. If Corolla, Camry, Mercedes C class, S class and E class ,Tucson, CrV, Rav 4, Accord, Civic, Land cruiser and etc were built here, of course we would buy them but they are not. |

AfriqueDuZuid12: It
Its 150 000 on year to year basis, as writen from the very link you sent
90% still used you have a reading and comprehension problem. 150,000 from January to July. A 35% increase on a year to year basis which is compared to same time last year volume.. I don't know what you see to gain with your used and new argument. A used car in Ghana cost just as much as a brand new one (MSRP). Usually ranging from 30,000 USD to the absurd 20,000 unit of that volume is brand new |

popizaino: Yesterday night , I found myself in the Nairobi CBD at 7:00 pm—and what I saw was unsettling. The city was already shutting down. Shops closed, lights off, streets thinning out. For a moment, it felt less like the capital of East Africa and more like a rural town where business ends at 6:00 pm sharp.
This is not nostalgia speaking; it’s concern. Nairobi was built on a 24-hour economy—hustle, movement, trade, energy. That rhythm is what made it competitive, attractive, and alive. A city that sleeps early is a city retreating, not advancing.
What changed? Is it insecurity, over-taxation, harassment, collapsing purchasing power, or policy fatigue? Probably all of it. But the result is the same: businesses no longer see value in staying open, and citizens no longer feel safe or solvent enough to circulate at night.
Let’s be honest: you don’t become Singapore by closing shop at sunset. Global cities work late because opportunity works late. Capital flows where activity is constant. When a city goes dark early, ambition dims with it. This should worry all of us.
A capital city that shuts down before nightfall is quietly announcing economic distress. And unless we confront it honestly—policy by policy, street by street—we’ll keep romanticizing progress while living its opposite.
#copied. Singapore is the wrong analogy to make. As someone who is constantly in Singapore, most things close between 8 and 9pm in Singapore and it includes bars, club, restaurants and shops. This is not to takeaway from what you wrote |

AfriqueDuZuid12: Bank of Ghana, pointing towards substantial numbers, though it's dominated by used cars, with annual imports around 100,000 (90% used) versus fewer new sales. The 300,000+ figure might reflect total vehicles (new & used) or perhaps an overestimation, but growth is definitely strong for new registrations.
The 300 000 is government aims to achieve but currently ghana is at 100 000 with 90% of those being used cars! as at June this year, 149,000 had already been registered. 2024 over 180,000 were registered |
