with all d respect I have for you, see what you are saying to a female nairaland member. People think through their brains alone. If u can allow me to say without including you, ebonyi people don't think because they don't have brains
Woah! Dude, this is way over the roof. You said Ebonyians don't have brains, aren't they humans? I'm assuming you've not met with a lot of Ebonyians. Ebonyians are intelligent. You can check this year's cut-off marks for Unity schools, Ebonyi state had one of the highest. Ebonyi of today is not the same as Ebonyi of yesterday. Ebonyi is gradually moving up. Like I said before, watch out for Ebonyians. |
mannyiyke: Take no notice of them, sis. We're all d same weda u're from Ebonyi, Imo, Anambra, Abia, Delta Igbo or Rivers Igbo. Igbo Is Igbo. We shld love one anoda. Nobody is born a fool. We shld stop all these derogatory statements against ourselves. Igbo bu ofu! @ justbeingme, i wld like to know u, pls. If u're on facebook, send me ur username to nwokedii@yahoo.com or u give me ur e-mail address so that i can send mine(i.e. my facebk username) to u, pls. Thanks. Have a gd nite rest. Bye.Okay. holyvirgin: Well ebonyi is still a failed state in Nigeria... Ebonyi needs to be deleted and considered part of cameroun.Sweety don't tell me you didn't study Geography in high school. Ebonyi does not even have any boundary with Cameroun. So how is Ebonyi going to be considered as part of Cameroun? You guys should start thinking with your brains not anus. |
" a child who is carried at the back doesnt know that journey is painful" for we, say "ije tereaka" which means " journey is far" not understanding ebonyi language , that ufu can be anything. Ufu in anambra dialect is painful, but we say "uwu" na awu uwu - if we want to say something is painful
You say 'uwu', Ebonyians also say 'uwu'. You see? You're saying the same thing as Ebonyians. Are you still of the opinion that we speak Efik? |
what they speak in ebonyi is not a dialect. It's a language quite very different from igbo. I'm from Imo. And when I go home I tune FM of different igbo states - abia , anambra, enugu and imo and I understand all they say. But once I made d mistake of tuning that of abakiliki and I regretted my life. Ebonyi people speak more of calabar than igbo. Ok state the ebonyi words for cup, plate, spoon, love-making, bottle and compare them with the ones of central igbo. Ebonyi people are bush men joor. Are they not the ones that litter my village and help us in farming and cutting palm kernel?
Like seriously! Are you for real? Ebonyi people speak more of Calabar? Have you ever heard someone speaking Efik in your life? Na wa oh. You don't have to take out your frustrations on Ebonyi and Ebonyians. We're peace-loving people. Live and let live ![]() Happy New Year in advance. |
nyere84: Tank you my darling. Happy nw yr in advanceHappy new year too my sister. |
If ebonyi people are igbos, how comes no igbo man can ever understanding their igbo except themselves? I have been with many afikpo and amasiri people a lot and they talk for hours without me understanding a word they are speaking. While accents of IMO and anambra people differ on things like "ihe/ife" ebonyi people have entirely different names for every object and action like cup, spoon, bath, love making, practically everything.
Which state are you from? Please don't tell me you're a graduade or an undergrad. I swear Ebonyi children in primary schools speak better English than you. ![]() |
Azedplus: hardly remember some states like Jigawa, Kebbi even Zamfara make the news more than them. It's better we don't make the news at all than make the news cuz of terrorism and underage marriage. |
Last year, I listened to ebonyi radio for almost hour without understanding what they speaking in their bush ebonyi language. My greatest friend of all times is one beautiful ebonyi lady shaa. And another thing, you will always see their girls marrying their village men even if the girls are are educated and are living in London or Moscow. In short ebonyi people are as local as Ilorin girls
Did any Ebonyi girl break your heart? Just asking. |
Pain: Is Ebonyi part of Nigeria? I thought it was part of cameroonYour Geography teacher should be shot. On a second thought, you might just be a primary school pupil. Children of nowadays shaa. SMH |
Solupeace: Great! I think this is just a tip of the iceberg. The intelligence and articulation are d hallmark of our brand. Keep it up sis! Thanks bro. Keep up the good work. It's our duty to educate others about us. |
All of you spewing trash here know nothing about Ebonyi and Ebonyians. You all come here and insult Ebonyians but are quick to run after the rich ones. Ebonyi state before it's creation was part of Enugu and Abia states. You can't imagine the level of marginalization and discrimination they faced under these states especially the Ezza, Izzi and other parts that were in Enugu state then. They didn't smell any government attention under these states. No infrastructures no nothing! All they have now, they got after the state was created. So you can't compare a state that was created in 1996 without the leasts of developments to states created in 1991. That's 5 years gap we're talking about here, not to talk of the ones created in 1976 or so. Haba! Be fair! The whitemen arrived very late to the place we now know as Ebonyi state especially Ebonyi Central and North. This was not the case in Ebonyi South though. As far as education and literacy is concerned, Ebonyi South can compete very well with other states in Nigeria. When other Igbo states were already enjoying the fruits of education, Ebonyi state was still deep in ignorance. My dad told us the story of how parents hid their children whenever the whitemen were around to 'capture' kids to be enrolled in schools. My dad and their last born are the only educated people in their family. His parents gave him to the whitemen so he would be punished cuz he was stubborn and lazy in farm work. His hardworking sisters were hidden from the whitemen. This was happening in the 1960s so you can imagine. The ignorance was that much. They never knew they were doing him a huge favour. It's dificult to find an educated octagenarian in Ebonyi state, Ebonyi Central especially, this is not the case in Ebonyi South. You might find them in Ebonyi Central and North but they're few. I agree that other Igbo states are ahead of them in terms of literacy but that shouldn't get into your heads cuz things are changing now. Ebonyi children are shining wherever they are. If given the right opportunities, Ebonyi children will conquer. They are intelligent. Come to the Faculty of Clinical Medicine in Unical and see for yourselves. Ebonyi children are shining. What Ebonyi state needs now is a young vibrant leader that has the passion to lift the state from the shackles of poverty especially in the rural areas. Sam Egwu really tried as the state governor cuz he started from the scratch to develop Ebonyi state. This present governor is a wicked old man. He practically destroyed everything Sam Egwu built. The Hatchery, Ebonyi Queens, the Cement factory, EBSU teaching hospital and other things. For six good years, all we hear of are Oferekpe water supply, International market and Ochudo city, all these I consider as white elephant projects. International market in Ebonyi state? Where are the industries? Is it rice you'll be selling in the international market? He has just two years if not less, to complete his tenure and I don't see him coommissioning those projects. Most of the roads in the state capital were built by Sam Egwu. Elechi and his son, Elechi Elechi have finished Ebonyi state. Ebonyi needs a good leader that has the interests of the state at heart. Dazzall. #ProudlyAdaEbonyi When people see me and I tell them I'm an Ebonyian they find it hard believing cuz they just can't comprehend how a beautiful and intelligent girl can hail from Ebonyi state. That was then people! Not anymore. Watch out for Ebonyians! ![]() |
