Hi Justiyke4u, my learned colleague wink

I understand your fears NCA process nawao.I have read it and I know the licensing process can be long and challenging. However, the good thing is our legal system and Canada is almost the same. I came an information on their site that said there are some countries that can be exempted from some courses and I think Nigeria was there. Hey wrote about it in details. I was researching a while back, will probably continue. However, pending the time we complete the licensing process, we can work as paralegals, do some certifications that could allow us work in legal departments of some organizations. God will make a way for us, don't worry. Can be scary but we will face it headlong and not only qualify but practice successfully there by God's grace.
This is soul lifting. Thanks my learned colleague. We shall all make it. Which stage are you now with your application

Hello house, I have been reading and following this thread for months now and just begun the process of my certificate with IQAS as I heard they are better with LLB degrees. I began to do some little research of life of an LLB holder in canada and seems to be overwhelmed with fear. From NCA process to articling which the opinions haven't been encouraging and my fears are telling me to give up already. The motivation seems to be going down. And I keep asking myself if there is anything one can do with the LLB while going through the other processes like NCA + Articling knowing that these process might take a little time. Please is there anyone in the house with a little word of advice/encouragement. This house has been so helpful. Thanks to everyone. Please I did not mean to bother you all with my personal issues. Please your input/suggestion might be my motivation. Thanks.

Have you sent it already? What is the cost and the process from ABSU end?
Why didn't you try using WES since IQAS is becoming difficult?
N20,300 for transcript and N11,700 for courier. You will do it from exams and record. I'm evaluating my LL.B that's why I used them

Congrats to the new ITAites, may you all be successful at this final stage.

It seems IQAS is now the new bottleneck. I faxed my documents to them over a week and no acknowledgement up till now. With the stories, I am reading regarding them, I'm worried how long this will last.

Please is there any one who has sent transcripts to WES from ABSU? Is it straightforward process and how long did it take for them to confirm the inquiry from WES?
I sent to IQAS from absu

Please is their anyone here who has sent their transcripts to WES or IQAS from ABSU? Please what is your experience and how fast are they?
I'm sending mine from absu and I'm using IQAS. I called someone to inquire and she said the transcript is N20,300 and courier is N11,150 but I'm yet to go to school

I think you can add it . reason being only your LLB is evaluated and not your BL. So you commenced paid employment after your LLB.
People on here have used nysc period to make up so why can't you use what you have. My take though.
thanks a lot. i was only concerned with the job title

You can use it if you can get two reference letters. One for the period of 5 months you worked, outlining what your duties were at that time and the second one stating your present duties/responsibilities. So when you are filing your post Ita form you will input two different work experience. First one will be the for the period of 5 months (stating the day you started and ended it) and the second will be for your present work experience stating the day you started it and that its ongoing. The system will generate two place holders for work experience for you.
thanks for the response and i can do this under one NOC right?
Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program-Connect Here Part 2 by Justiyke4u: 10:14am On Aug 21, 2017
you now understand my situation. it will affect my crs score thats why i need the 5 months. i have thought about using a different NOC like 4211 for paralegal which is also related to 4112
cochtrane:

As your reference letter now carries a different role. It makes it a bit tricky.
Does it affect your eligibility or score if you take out these 5 months? I would wanna be careful using it.

Perhaps those who have experience in this regard can contribute. NOC misrepresentation has a high chance of knocking off your application.

cochtrane:

But only afterwards (bar) do you become a lawyer? right? If that's the case, I don't think you can use those 5 months. You need the claimed number of years of experience in your primary NOC.
the duties are substantially the same with the primary NOC except going to court and the reference letter titles it as a counsel

cochtrane:

While you hadn't been called to bar, were you technically already a practicing lawyer?
you can actually do some chamber works before being called to the bar like legal research, legal opinions, interviewing clients, drafting etc

Hello house, please assist me with the answer to this question if possible. A lawyer that worked for some months (like 5 months) in a law firm before before being called to bar and continued in that law firm after call to bar. Now how do I determine the appropriate NOC to capture the 5 months as well.
please somebody should help me with this o

You are very right . I just moved to Toronto 3 months ago and am very eager to share my experience especially with mums like myself but I can't find a thread that discusses that.
you see and many others trying to know more about settling would have benefited a lot from your experience

Please I saw this thread https://www.nairaland.com/3273411/living-canada-life-canadian-immigrant and it was closed and reference made to this present one. I think this is an error as the two threads have no relationships. This one for settling down as a student while the other is as an immigrant. I have not seen any information here that answers the query raised in the other one

Unfortunately, it's not full marks. The writing dropped my points. My husband hasn't written his own yet, so I was really hoping to boost my points with full marks. Just kinda disappointed that I didn't reach the last cut off. Thanks for the encouragement. I studied for a month so I thought it would be better.
you still have a good result. But please what was the nature of your practice?

Although I am Practicing like you, I will advise you review what you are doing wrong, give it full concentration and attempt multiple original ielts practice test by Cambridge.

To review your mistakes, after you score yourself, check to know the correct answers to your wrong answers and listen to your mistake part of the audio again and again. Good luck
thanks

Learn your mistakes from any video you practice on but practice with as much videos as you can. You can dedicate a whole day to listening and just get videos upon videos to practice on and act like you're in the exam hall with set timers and all. All the very best. Don't neglect the others too.
good tip. Thanks

Don't panic bro. Truth is that IELTS Listening on YouTube is harder than the real test because of the need to look at the screen and then on paper to answer. From my experience, the highest I scored on YouTube was 33/40 (7.5) but scored 8.5 in the real test last November. I generally found the real test easier and didn't even remember missing anything but my Reading spoiled my result. I'm retaking this month anyway.
I think it's better to practice with YouTube and hope to have it easier in real test. Good luck!
sorry about the reading. Thanks alot
