Davido has decided to formalize his relationship with his ‘assurance’, Chioma Rowland, known popularly as Chef Chi.

According to Withinnigeria source who pleads to remain anonymous, Davido put Chioma in the family way a few months ago. Contrary to popular opinion that she will be categorized as one of his baby mamas, Davido decided to do right by Chioma and seek her family’s consent.

Chioma has been away from social media because of her pregnancy and has been with Davido on his many trips and concerts.

According to another source, Chef Chi was recently hospitalized and almost lost her pregnancy due to some unforeseen complications. After surviving the near loss of her unborn child, Chioma and Davido decided to involve their families. Davido reportedly visited Chef Chi’s family to declare his interest in getting married to her.

The family at first opposed the union but could not do much when they learned Chioma was already pregnant for the artist.

At least, 12,562 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State including former commissioners and local councils officials, on Thursday, August 15th defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The defectors were officially received into the PDP by Governor Bello Matawalle in Gusau. Among the APC defectors were three former commissioners, Alhaji Idris Keta, Alhaji Abdulkadir Ahmed and Alhaji Aliyu Tsafe along with their loyalists and supporters.

Others were two former local government council chairmen, Alhaji Musa Tsafe and Alhaji Ahmed Kantoma, as well as two former Directors-General, Alhaji Bashir Kwaren Ganuwa and Alhaji Saminu Lawali. All the defectors are from Tsafe Local Government Area of the state.

In their separate speeches, Alhaji Idris Keta and Alhaji Habibu Alo said they were drawn to the PDP because of the peace being enjoyed by their communities under the present leadership of governor Matawalle. They added that by addressing the security challenges facing the state within a short period, the governor has earned their trust and would support him to further ensure sustainable peace in the state.

In his remarks, Matawalle commended the defectors for the “wise decision” to join the PDP and assured that they would receive equal treatment as any other party member. The governor reiterated his government’s determination to improve the living standards of the people including those affected by banditry.

Tokunbo Idowu came into the spotlight through controversies surrounding her while she was a housemate in the popular reality TV show, Big Brother Naija tagged “See Gobe”.

She went on to get a couple of endorsements and ambassadorial deals. There were speculations that she was in a romantic relationship with serial entrepreneur, Ubi Franklin.

Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has prophesied that Nigeria would come out great, march forward and overcome its numerous challenges.

He made the prophetic declarations in his sermon at the 67 Holy Ghost Congress held at the Redemption Camp, KM 46, Lagos/Ibadan Expressway, however, urged Nigerians to return to God, NAN reports.

Adeboye also declared, “There will be an end to emptiness, materially, spiritually and economically in Nigeria.”

Speaking on the topic: “And God Said, Let There be Light”, Adeboye declared: “The plan of God for Nigeria is that when light comes to the nation, Nigeria will be great, it will progress and move forward.

“There will be light, means let progress begin; when there was darkness in Egypt for three days, the Egyptians could not stand up for three days.

“Darkness stops progress; when you are surrounded with darkness, your progress will not be accelerated.

The cleric who took his text from Psalm 30, verse five, said that weeping could endure for a night, but that joy would come in the morning.

“This means that Nigeria shall sorrow no more; it means all the forces in heaven will see that Nigeria and Nigerians will succeed; rain will fall on our land in the right season.

The suspension and deletion of tweets took place between Friday night August 9th and Saturday morning August 10th.

Omoyele Sowore, has broken silence on his arrest by the Department of State Services, DSS, over the Revolution Now protests.

Sowore expressed gratitude to Nigerians and the international community for their support, urging them to pour out to the streets in protest against bad governance in the country.

Sowore speaking for the first time after his arrest on Saturday said this during the visit of the “Take It Back Movement” to the DSS facility where he is being held, The Nation reports.

Sowore said “I would like to assure everyone that I am being treated well and in very good health.

“I am pleased that the peaceful #RevolutionNow protests went ahead.

“However, knowledge of the sheer number of innocent Nigerians being arrested for exercising their civil rights bothers me.

“I join others in demanding for the immediate and unconditional release of all those arrested by the police on Monday.”

DSS had arrested Sowore over the weekend after he called for a nationwide staging of protests against what he described as a bad governance.

His arrest has since stirred reactions from well meaning Nigerians.The protest he tagged “Revolution Now”, was planned to take place on Monday, August 5.

Following Sowore’s arrest, the Nigerian Police Force, had described the planned protests by Sowore and some individuals as ‘treasonable felony and acts of terrorism.’

It vowed to resist any act that could lead to a breach of law and order in the country.

Rachel Onamusi-Kpiasi, Director, Media and Communication of the movement, confirmed that Sowore was in high spirits.

In a statement released on Monday evening, she wrote “At 6pm today, 5th August, 2019, members of the Take it Back Movement were allowed to visit with our convener, Omoyele Sowore, for the first time since his armed abduction in the early hours last Saturday, August 3.

“We met him in high spirits, unmoved by the events of the last few days.

“The officers allowed us to present him with food as Sowore had refused all meals since his capture.

“We are also happy to confirm that Take it Back members will be allowed to bring him food daily as per his wishes.

“The freedom fighter was quick to ask about the movement and supporters as he is aware that there will be a lot of worry about his wellbeing.

“Indeed, the silver lining in today’s unrest lies in the knowledge that truly, you cannot stop an idea whose time has come.

“The Take it Back Movement will continue to agitate for his release as well as that of comrades whose voices this oppressive regime has tried to silence.

“This visit was a small win; but we will not rest until we are free and free indeed.”

Sowore’s driver narrates encounter with DSS, says convener of #RevolutionNow was arrested at the gym.


In a social media post, the driver of Omoyele Sowore, convener of RevolutionNow Protest, who refused to disclose his identity, said Sowore caught without noticed and picked up with force in a “gestapo manner”.

“At around past 1am, the armed men knocked on the door. I noticed immediately that these knocks were strange. And didn’t open. I looked and I saw men armed to the teeth,” he wrote.

“They started forcing their way in like armed robbers. But I knew they were DSS men, knowing fully well the attention RevolutionNow has garnered. Sowore wanted to open at first but I immediately told him who they are. He retreated and like magic, he was not in the room when they forced their way in- 8 of them.

“That was when he managed to tweet. By this time, I had been beaten and handcuffed. Phones were snatched from me. An order to block all exits came from the leader when Sowore was not found inside. He was later arrested at the gym in a gestapo manner and dragged after a bit altercation.”

Narrating how he rushed to pick Sowore’s car when the cuffs were off his hands, the driver said the security operatives later threatened to shoot him for trying to prevent Sowore’s arrest.

“I quickly seized that opportunity to drive his car (I drive him) to block their SIENNA and Hilux they came in. They hit the Lexus Jeep like kidnappers would do to make way for themselves,” he wrote.

I followed them immediately till we got to CMD road around Ketu when one of them came down from the SIENNA and corked his gun, threatening to shoot me. I had to escape at that point.”

Sowore, a presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), had tweeted hours to his arrest that; “All that is needed for a #Revolution is for the oppressed to choose a date they desire for liberty, not subjected to the approval of the oppressor.”

Peter Afunanya, spokesman of the DSS, did not immediately respond to message seeking updates on the arrest.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, #EFCC Lagos Zonal office,  on Thursday, August 1,2019,  arraigned one Omotola Fawehinmi before Justice  Austin C. Obiozo of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos  on a five -count charge bordering  on forgery and failure to carry out due diligence to the tune of N700m (Seven Hundred Million Naira).

Fawehinmi, an employee of Zenith Bank Plc, was arrested, following a petition received by the Commission from the complainant, Union Bank Plc.

One of the counts reads: “That you, Omotola Fawehinmi, sometime in February, 2015 in Lagos ,within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court aided the forgery of a document title: “Transfer of funds via RTGS-1014152125” dated 19th of June 2015 to the prejudice of Zenith Bank Plc who, in the belief that the said document was signed by Uka Chidi Udo, was induced to debit the account of Mobilng Huil Service Ltd to the tune of N394,916,175.66 (Three Hundred and Ninety -our Million, Nine Hundred and Sixteen Thousand, Sixty -six Kobo) and you thereby committed an offence punishable under Section (C) of the Miscellaneous Offences Act CAP M17 Laws of the Federation 2004.”

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against him.

In view of his plea, the prosecution counsel, Rotimi Oyedepo, asked the court for a trial date and accelerated hearing of the matter, while also praying that the defendant be remanded in prison custody.

Counsel to the defendant, Kadija Belgore Yusuf, informed the court of a bail application for the defendant.

The defence counsel also prayed the court to admit the defendant to bail in the most liberal terms.

Justice Obiozor granted the defendant bail in the sum of N250million with one surety in like sum.

The surety must deposit the title of a landed property in Lagos State, produce an affidavit of means, evidence of three years tax clearance, statement of account of the surety and one passport photograph of the surety, which must be verified by the court’s Deputy Registrar.

A Nnamdi Azikiwe University lecturer stunned his 400 level students as he appeared as ‘spider man’ to sign their project works.

Popular Yoruba movie actor and movie producer, Odunlade Adekola, has shared a video on his Instagram page where he was filmed kissing a lady.

The Presidency says with the proscription of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, security agencies now have the power to take “any necessary action” against the Shi’ite group as was done to the Indigenous People of Biafra led by Nnamdi Kanu, according to a report by Punch.

The Presidency subsequently asked the IMN group led by Ibraheem El-Zakzaky to obey the order of the Federal High Court by not coming out to protest anymore.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, said this on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily programme on Monday.

Responding to a question, he said, “In Kaduna it (proscription) worked; these troublesome people were chased out of the state. They no longer have a foothold there. They moved over to Abuja and that is why we have them here. It (court order) will be enforced.

“You said IPOB is still there but it is no longer a lawful organisation. And what that means is that the law enforcement agencies in the country have the right to take whatever steps necessary in order to deal with their activities if it surfaces.”

When asked what would happen if another IMN protest was staged, Shehu said they would not be allowed to do so.

“My advice is that they better not do that. It won’t be allowed. They are not allowed to protest anymore.”

When asked why the Presidency failed to obey the Federal High Court order for the unconditional release of El-Zakzaky and his wife in 2016, Shehu said the matter was a complicated issue.

The President’s spokesman said El-Zakzaky was granted bail on just one of the matters he was being held on but was not granted bail on other matters.

The PUNCH, however, reports that Justice Gabriel Kolawole had granted the immediate and unconditional release of El-Zakzaky as well as a compensation of N50m due to his unlawful detention and the failure of the government to charge him, contrary to Shehu’s claims.

He also faulted the statement of the Christian Association of Nigeria condemning the proscription.

Shehu argued that it was not the freedom of worship that was curtailed but the freedom to protest.

The President’s spokesman maintained that Shi’ites as an Islamic sect were not the target but the IMN.

U.S. singer and reality star, Aubrey O’Day has professed her love for former American President Barack Obama, saying that she needs him as her sperm donor for kids.

O’Day declared in a recent interview that she was now ready to be a mother but would need Obama to be her sperm donor to make her dreams come true.

“I would like to do a show about inseminating me with some brilliant man’s sperm so I can have a child,” O’Day recently told Page Six.

She further said: “Dream donor, Barack Obama.

“Because he’s brilliant, classy, kind, compassionate, witty, gorgeous; everything that a great woman deserves, and that’s why he’s got a great woman.”

The 35-year-old Danity Kane singer has been single since her split from 39-year-old TV personality and disc jockey, Paul ‘Pauly D’ DelVecchio, 39.

She also dated Donald Trump Jr. prior to that and said on the first episode of “Ex on the Beach” — which airs on MTV Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET — that he is her soul mate.

O’Day claim she would have gotten back together with Trump Jr. if he had shown up to compete for her love on “Ex on the Beach,” telling us: “If he gave up what he chose to be with over me and came back, I would jump on and marry him right then and there.”

The 57-year-old Obama, has been married to Michelle Obama, 55, since 1992 and they share two daughters, Sasha, 18, and Malia, 21.
