As an N-Power volunteer I will service my future by saving 50% of my monthly stipend, I will use about 10% for charity work and the remaining 40% will be for my upkeep.
Then after six months of saving 50% of my stipend i.e 15000x6 (90k) I will invest part of the money in casava farming (I have the land already), while I continue saving my stipend, then when I harvest the casava (by then I must have save up 150k God's willing) I will used the money I have at hand and buy machines for a mini garri processing factory... and boom I will package my Garri and sale in different sizes of bags. I have already done the survey, I have a goo market for this, this is a business I have been planning to do ever since I was in secondary school. By this I will be an employer of labor myself as I will employ atleast 3 people to help me at the factory.
Of course I will pick up a master's degree form to further my education after another six months as I won't only be saving half of my stipend but I will also be saving proceeds from my mini garri factory.
This is how I will #ServiceMyFuture if i'm short listed as an N-Power volunteer.

Some of us served in rural areas, which is the best as you get to save 90%of your allowance if not all. Feeding is cheap and you can live off 6k a month if you buy your food in bulk...
I have a girlfriend but that does not mean I should squander all money on her. She was in shock when I told her last month that I had over 300k in money market fund. Girls can spend money so beware.

My advice is for any serving Corp member to get a side job. That way you can earn an extra 10-15k added to your alawee. Save them. Don't buy clothes for fvck sake. You don't need them yet.

Don't loaf around during your service year.

so because the NYSC allawee is small, it means he was feeding off other corp members while he saves his own allawee or you did not read the part where he said he also did private lessons + the money from his PPA. The thing is most of us (youths) can't sacrifice or delay the gratification we will get from flexing for the sake of our future, we keep saying that the money is too small but the truth is if you can't save from the little money, you definitely won't be able to save from the big money. OP keep it up and dont give up, where there is determination a way can surely be found.

Nice one op. You have my blood running in your veins. I am a Corp member serving in Abj, and I have managed to save up #350k. My target is #500k before my service year elapses in October though.

Op, take a chill pill. Don't rush into anything yet, Nigeria of today is business scary and with 300k you don't have any business money yet.

Take that money to the nearest stanbic IBTC branch and buy treasury bills from the FG for 364 days tenure at primary market. I have mentioned stanbic in order to make you achieve the best rate. Interest rate are very high now.

Collect your interest upfront and experiment on anything that comes to your mind at pilot scale only.

At maturity date, your 300k alert would wake u up, you may decide to push the funds into whatever your have experimented with if the ropes have been learnt well enough.

In the interim, while you experiment at pilot scale with your interest from treasury bills, apply for jobs and consider getting a salary job, you are a fresh graduate don't be afraid of climbing the ropes with little pay. Better pay comes with better work experience which is obtained from the beginning.

Don't consider your self an entrepreneur as true entrepreneurs don't get stuck with money and no ideas. People must have poisoned your mind NOT to work on a salary scale, my brother look well, the same people couldn't secure a job after much trials.

Assuming you saved all your allowance for the whole service year, you will have19800 * 12= 237600 . How come you now have 300K??

It means you were doing other things in addition to your nysc stipend.

My advice keep doing what you were doing that helped you saved that much.
