Hello everyone....I am new here, not so so new sha, been reading off and on for a month now and i always see a document like I20, please what's that? I intend applying for fall 2018 to a school in Maryland, a friend is there and he wants to help me process it same way his brother did his but he didn't mention any I20 oo, so i am confused, help a sister bikko.......thanks everyone!
you should not bother yourself about i20 yet until you get the admission. when you are admitted the school will send you the i20 and other documents to show you have been admitted. With your i20 you can now apply for the f1 visa. so don't bother yet, focus on getting your admission ok.

No problem bro..

You can get more transcripts by typing " VO 'your course' "on the search bar here to get more transcripts...
NB: without quotes
Wow thanks for the hint.

@K199192, always make findings before advising people...
like I told you I read thru all of them in the links and I did not see any. I might have omitted some so it appears. Thanks for the clarification.

Check previous transcripts bro and stop posting what you are not sure about..

Meanwhile, why do you want him to lie, when he can actually get his Visa by saying the truth? huh
I can tell you that I have read all the transcripts here via the links available. I have not seen any like that. You can prove me wrong though.

It's not bad, but I'm pretty sure you actually checked other schools as well while applying to only one.
So, you can tell the VO, the other schools you checked and let him know that you actually applied to only..
E.g. I considered 3 schools but I applied to only 1.
but I have not seen any one that has used that line here yet. I always see I applied to three schools.. I think that is safer. as for me an two schools I apply.

Fast more since you think God did not favor you. Case closed.

This is not the issue of Nigerian mentality, he pointed out a sensible issue, you can conduct such transaction with somebody you know and not with a complete stranger online , that is risky and exposes you to fraud.
justwise God bless you. I did not judge anybody.. Nigerian's don't just like truth.. I only said the obvious with no disrespect to whomever.. It looks fraudulent, he may be legit just as bigfrancis pointed out, but it looks fraudulent nonetheless.

Mekurexx is one of our old family here at NL...... but i hear you. Due to the fact that some Nigerians do scam it easy to paint everything with the same brush

But no ... in this case this one of our member who looking for naira. And yes for those who might have to pay for connecting flight within the US might need dollars. Also sometimes BA says they dont accept naiira
Thanks for the clarification though.. I was only stating the obvious.
I meant no disrespect.

I need naira gents & ladies. If you are looking to pay tuition or flight, sevis or you need usd! Send me a message! Thanks
I have seen this post like three times in the past two days. my opinion goes thus. I believe there are various ways now one can send money directly to his Nigerian account regardless of your location. Why come here and be asking for naira when you can get it conveniently from wherever you are? It boils down to the saying "if it's too good to be true, it's a scam". You may be legit for all I know but the way you are advertising it is suspicious. Walsprings does the same transactions for people but you Don't see him advertising himself. It's just an opinion though and common sense. And does anyone need dollar to pay flight ticket? You can always do whatever transaction at the airport.

Ah thank you! Always happy to help... it's a lot easier to help folks who are starting from scratch. If you've got a high GPA (>4.0) you've frankly got the best shot... we should talk, on here. If your GPA isn't that high, that's still not a problem. A lot of graduate schools do not care so much about your final GPA as much as the trajectory of improvement from year to year. If your GPA is low because of a poor first/second year performance but the last 1-2 years were pretty strong, you got a good chance. My only advice would be to take the GRE, always.

Always be wary about schools who don't ask for the GRE. Those are typically smaller schools who care more about the tuition you're paying than the education they are providing. Better schools like the GRE because it is also another means to thin out the applicant pool.

Get to know your admissions coordinator, they always have email addresses or phone numbers you can use to contact them. Especially as an international student who will be relying on a visa, i can't tell you how useful this was for me. She was like a mother to me my first year.

Give yourself at least 1 year to plan. 2-3 is even better. You want to get admission and a visa all in one shot, to avoid stories that touch the heart (there is no guarantee of course, but to be prepared is to improve your chances greatly).

Spare a thought for where your school is located. America isn't the same cost-wise. Schooling in NYC, NJ, California... all look good on facebook. Until you have to pay for rent, transportation, food etc. If you intend a modest cost of living, try Michigan (i loved living there! It's cold in winter but an absolutely lovely state for outdoor activities in spring to fall). It's also a cheap state. Other places to look out for, NM, TX, WI etc. Don't look for cost of living advice when you are now looking to get a visa, its too late.

Funding - you will get far better funding opportunities at better established, highly competitive public schools. I find it sad that it is rare to find anyone here applying to Duke, Harvard, Rochester, UPenn, UMich, MSU, NYU, UNC etc. Why not? Aliens are not the only people admitted there.

Let's face it, 99.9% of folks will be looking to stay and get a job in the US after school. Don't lie cheesy. If that's the case, then your school choice is ever more important! You want to go to a school that your future employer doesn't have to use google to find! That is not good... especially in a crowded job market.

Anyway... i truly wish all genuine applicants the best. As for the frauds for whom a student visa is only a vehicle to immigrate to the US.
well, i wish you the best too.
I really liked the way you laid everything down.. but people have been saying things about fraud a lot here.. Please who is the fraud and who is the genuine student as regards the bolded, I think everyone is a fraud then. Maybe I am wrong but I know I will love to get a well paid job after my studies in the US and that is why I am about leaving a job an offer from dangote in order to pursue my msc and I know I will get a better job afterwards. Does that make me a fraud?

Modified.. don't bother replying me.. i have seen the difference in between the lines. Thanks.

It happened to me before. I asked them to send me an updated I-20 stating my GA and to defer my admission because it was late for me to start the visa process. They did and my sevis number was the same. As for you, tell them to update your I-20 showing your GA in the section for funding. Sometimes, info regards funding don't get to IA before they print the I-20.
thanks a lot bro. Really appreciate.

Most schools do include it. In fact yours is the first I have heard without it. You will see it under financial breakdown/source of funding your education: Fund from this school/Fund from family or sponsor.

Were you told by the IA that your sevis number may change? If you're just assuming, it's better you ask your IA. Sevis number rarely change after I-20 update.
I couldn't help but noticed that the guy you quoted said they want to include his GA on his i20 form. Please is that the standard procedure? I was offered GA but I cant find it on my i20. Even the scholarship I was given did not appear either. I was only sent a certificate to show for the scholarship. Thank you

1. You do not have stellar academic qualifications
2. Your only standardized testing (TOEFL is not great as the only test for grad school) has a very terrible score
3. You do not have significant ties to Nigeria
4. your DS-160 info (employment history et al) is very very mediocre hence it will literarily take "a miracle" to get an F-1 Visa.
please can you throw more light on the mediocrity of of the employment history in the ds160 form. Thank you..
ps. an example of a good employment history for someone that is unemployed will go a long way.

I use toxicwap sparingly. When I can't find a particular movie at o2tvseries. and toxicwap's files are larger than o2tvseries. I save data by using o2tvseries tho

not when that site is o2tvseries where you get the latest TV series. you just have to turn the damn blocker off.
