I don't know when Nigerian army will buy new 155mm artilleries. Even if we can get 40 units.

Ceasar 155mm artillery set up and firing in just over 1 minute.

People watch too much movies and dont know pistols are very in accurate....apart from close quarters combat , pistols are inherently useless in a battle sphere....its better you take an SMG or PDW as your backup, which are a bit better than useless.....if you have a pistol and I have an ak47....most likely you will be dead.

They look cool in pictures though. grin grin

Ultimately you need a very reliable gun with good range, 600 meters, good optics, and enough mags.

Please, a quick one brothers, Why are our special forces guys yet to be equipped with the standard issued side-arm(pistol)??
I think its a necessary part of them being well armed. cuz I don't see how special they are if they are not superior in weapons unlike the regular army.. I think its not only about training and tactics.

Even from Across Africa, the South-African special forces operationally deployed in Burundi are not carrying side arms.

The main thing is tactics and can your special forces rapidly deploy.

Nigerian special forces in the last picture with a side arm.

Nigerian special forces are issued with 9mm pistols, but it is not standard issue.

A side arm is only useful as a personal defence weapon or when soldiers are conducting close quarters combat operations.

Apart from these 2 scenarios there's really no need for them.

funkmrflexx:
We Have Been Dating For 1 Year and 6 months now. I’ve met her parents, we wanted to get married last year but her dad told me to wait till she finishes school which is supposed to be next year. I’m 25 years old and she’s 22 .

I live alone in the city while my mom lives in the village. My younger sister who I’m sponsoring through school sometimes comes to my place during holidays and weekends. My girlfriend practically lives with me because she comes from a type of an Abusive family. So she lives with me and I even assist her with school fees and house rents sometimes. I’ve spent even more than her father for her school.

Everyone In my family knows her and she’s a very wonderful girl. Typical wife material. She supports me every time even when I’m broke. I’m not the type of guy that dates a lot of girls . I don’t even cheat on her. Since I met her I’ve done away with a lot of ladies. I’m 100% committed to the relationship

But the problem is that she Has very bad anger issues. I mean she can destroy your property when she’s angry and I’m the quiet type. I don’t like hitting a lady execpt once in a while a general brain resetting slap. When she starts she doesn’t listen to anyone. Not me, not even her parents. So anytime she’s angry like this I will just find a way to make her laugh. Both of you can just be eating and she will get angry if you ate the fleshy part of the meat and left oily part for her (we have quarreled because of that I mean serious quarrel) . Sometimes I get tired of the whole situation. At the end even when she’s wrong I’ll let her for peace to reign. So I try to manage the anger at home so it shouldn’t go out

back to her parents house.

Your skull is quite empty. The effrontery to watch a girlfriend raise her voice on your mom while you watched like a fool. you had the guts to scold your mother.

It's incredible, a disgrace, your mother doesn't deserve a son like you.

In 2016 during the ECOWAS deployment to Gambia the Ballistic vest our Navy SBS wore was made by DICON.
And it's in military camo..

DICON does produces Camo vest..
Perhaps you haven't seen it yet

Can you provide evidence that supports this statement in bold?

I'm just hearing this for the first time.

who else The Ballistic vest makers in Nigeria DICON, Proforce,NMT,EPAIL.
The DICON and EPAIL are the two companies NAF acquires their vest from
While the army is NMT,DICON
Navy is DICON
Police and DSS is Proforce and DICON

This is what DICON bulletproof vests look like. Those NAF bulletproof vests couldn't have come from DICON.

We cannot say for certain where the other agencies of government buy vests from.

Ultimately it's gratifying that security agencies purchase local.

I don't think the Camo type is from DICON, perhaps another manufacturer.

INTERNAL SECURITY: NAF DEPLOYS SPECIAL FORCES TO BOOST SECURITY IN NASARAWA STATE, ACTIVATES THE 22 QUICK RESPONSE WING LAFIA

In its bid to add impetus to ongoing operations in the North Central Zone of the Country, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) today, 17 May 2020, deployed additional Special Forces (SF) operatives to Lafia in Nasarawa State. The deployment of the SF elements follows the earlier deployment of a NAF Mi-35P Helicopter Gunship to conduct operations in the area and also marks the formal activation of the 22 Quick Response Wing (22 QRW) Lafia. The objective of the deployment is to hasten the restoration of peace and security to the North Central Zone.

In his address to the troops during the deployment, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, who was represented by the Air Officer Commanding Special Operations Command (AOC SOC), Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Charles Ohwo, stated that the deployment was aimed at enhancing the existing security architecture in the area. He noted that the 22 QRW was established in 2018 with the objective of bringing security closer to the people by curbing the activities of bandits, kidnappers, cattle rustlers and other criminal elements in Nasarawa State and its environs, working in synergy with sister Services and other security agencies. He noted however that the Unit could not fully commence operations at that time due to some logistics and manpower constraints, which, he said, had recently been overcome in 2 ways. The first, the AOC disclosed, was the recent graduation of additional 94 SF personnel at the NAF Regiment Training Centre (RTC) Annex in Bauchi, while the second was the support provided by the Nasarawa State Government; which paved way for the deployment of the SF elements and their equipment. He therefore used the opportunity to thank the Governor and his entire cabinet for their unrelenting support towards ensuring that security agencies in the State succeed in performing their constitutionally assigned roles. AVM Ohwo also used the opportunity to congratulate the troops for being chosen as part of SF personnel to activate the 22 QRW Lafia. He charged them to continue to uphold the NAF’s core values of ‘Integrity’, ‘Service before Self’ and ‘Excellence’, as they carry out their assigned tasks.

In his remarks, the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, Engineer Abdulahi Sule, who was present to receive the troops, expressed appreciation for the swift response by the NAF to deploy SF elements to the State which, he said, would help to bring acts of criminality in the State to an end. The Governor added that the deployment was evidence of President Muhammadu Buhari’s pragmatic leadership and the importance the current Federal Government Administration attaches to the security of lives and properties of Nigerians in the North Central part of Nigeria. According to the Governor, “no one could have thought that the response to the requests that I made 3 days back, during a meeting with the President, would come into fruition so quickly”. He therefore thanked the President and the CAS for their efforts geared towards ensuring that peace is restored to Nasarawa and surrounding States.

Construction of SA Navy's Hydrographic Research Survey Vessel.

Today saw the erection of the H2A bow of the vessel.

A first for South Africa and the continent, the vessel would not only provide detailed mapping of the ocean floor and better geographical data for vessels such as submarines but would also have massive civilian benefits.

Side view of what this South-African built ship would look like when completed.
