Yes they gave 24hrs brought another notice recently.I am waiting to see what is next.Meanwhile how can we all fight against this demonic law?We must do something.

Its actually Oko Oba.the funny thing is no account number was written on the paper.I mean legal account number not private.My dear 5k is big money.

By the way, what is the penalty for not effecting payment? Will the house be locked up? To whom was the demand notice even addressed to, how did the authority know the name of the person that held the party? So LG staff roam the streets (open and hidden) snooping for places where 'o wa mbe' is taking place, ehn! I can bet the guy who later brought the notice did 'mo-gbo-mo-branch as at the party, sat down among the invited guests, ate jollof rice and chiken, washed it down with coke!! and later reported the poster to the authority!

That's the issue,no account number.It's more like extortion.the only numbers they left are their cell phone numbers.

in our own case, we requested for account number and insisted on paying into the govt account directly. the cheque is still with us as the account number given is that of ministry of environment and not health

What sort of a country is thishuh Let me give u my own little experience.On the 5th of May,a Saturday I had a birthday party for my 1year old son in our compund,I didnt block the road o.Just a few canopies and chairs in my compound.Infact the rain didnt allow us have the party in the compound so we had to move the venue to my sitting room only for some silly miscreants to come drop a notice asking me to go and pay one Meriment and Celebration fee of N5000 (five thousand Naira) to Agege LGA.The jobless people even left their phone numbers on the notice asking me to call them.Infact I ignored the letter only for me to get home yesterday and be handed over another one by my wife.She said it was pasted on our gate,she didnt see anyone.Infact I am so furious right now.Anyone conversant with the laws?Is it legal? because I don't collect or do bribes.I need legal advice here.

I have a feeling that he is one of the Almajereez.He was probably abandoned as a child and took up the Islamic hausa identity since childhood.So its possible that he might be yoruba but of lost origin.He probably does not even know anything about his family.I served in the north and believe me,there are loads of small small yoruba almajereez who speak brilliant hausa and have even taken up Islamic-hausa names.There is no point disowning anyone or even claiming anyone here.The government is to blame for all these mess.They failed to cater for such kids and they have eventually grown to be security risks to the society at large.Why are they just creating Almajeree schools?Why must the Nigerian government always have a fire brigade approach to everything?
