Afternoon house!!
So we made 2 applications one for my husband (whos married to a U.K. Citizen) -2 years visit.
The second was for his Godmother for a 6months visit visa sponsored by my husband.

Hubby approved. God mother refused. He wants to re apply so please can the house experts provide some input on what we need to supply. Attached is the EPISTLE, I mean the refusal letter.

Documents supplied.
Sponsor financial details, sponsorship letter, pictures, affidavit of relationship,
Note that hubby (sponsor) submitted same financials for his own application

Applicants financial statements, church letter stating she is a worker (which they understood to be employment), wedding invitation for her sons wedding, pictures with his mother, with him, with our children at family functions.

Look forward to your responses

Docs I submitted from my bro's side are;
1. Invitation letter
2. His passport bio data page
3. Confirmation of student status
4. Tenancy agreement
5. Drivers license
6. Resident permit
7. Award ceremonies confirmation
8. Marriage cert
9. His kids passport bio data page

Docs from my pops I submitted;
1. Sponsorship letter
2. Letter of employment
3. Testimonial on retirement from work
4. Letter on increment of pension
5. Evidence of Landed property
6. Bank account statement

Docs I submitted as a student;
1. Admission letter
2. Letter of introduction
3. School fee payment slips
4. Results
5. School ID

I'm no expert and I'm even awaiting my own decision, but at first glance what I would say was missing would be
1. Family photos
2. You own bank statements of how you are sustaining yourself while studying. Assuming you don't work, some deposits from family monthly would show your financial circumstances as well as why you need to be sponsored.

I'm sure the professionals here would have better opinions to offer.

Did my biometrics on the 24th of July at Ikeja too. Got application not straightforward email on the 16th working day. Today is the 24th working day and im still waiting.

Our application was made 31st July at Abuja. They didn't say the application is not straightforward so I guess there's just a delay in processing.

Given that this is summer holiday period and it's ending in a few weeks, a lot of people's plans have been messed up! It's really unfair!

Very correct, u cannot rule out the fact that the volume of applications from Nigeria is alot higher than Tanzania. However, each application is treated with its own uniqueness and specifics. I applied alongside a friend of mine on 31st July and my application was decided on 14th August while my friend's was decided on 16th August. I got a decision mail from TLS today. In a nutshell, each application is treated with its own uniqueness. Less I forget , my friend is a 1st timer applicant.

Please what type of visa did you submit and what location?
This timing is so fast

Morning all,

Clearly I'm impatient! The 15days has passed no email, no change on tls and number not recognized on UKVI.

Is there any other way to check? The U.K. Embassy want you to be gainfully employed or engaged in meaningful business but then they just mess you around! Our proposed travel date will soon pass

Any July ers with positive feedback
Thanks

Evening house,

Is there a general delay in processing for visit visas for applicantions made at the Abuja branch?

My husband and sponsee made their application on 31st July. I know it's summer holidays but we are used to a quick turnaround.
Thanks in advance

Does your hubby and other family member travelling have valid UK visas? If so then there is no issues as long as your hubby can provide proof the relationship and has sufficient funds to cover the trip. Document required will proof of relationship, applicants proof of employment/retirement/self employed, bank statement etc. You hubby will also supply his bank statement, copy of his passport with valid UK visa/copy of your own UK passport. Your hubby should include a cover note to ECO explaining that he is sponsoring the trip and reason he is traveling with this woman to the UK.

Yes he has several valid visas but is about to renew his 2 year visa. We thought applying with family friend at the same time will aid the application.

Every other person traveling have uk citizenship, I and children. So only hubby and family member need visa.

How do u prove relationship? There's no documentation other than pictures (family gatherings over the years etc)

He has all other evidences bank statements and so on.

Please what is Eco?

Good day,

I am a U.K. Citizen living in nigeria with hubby who is a 9ja citizen. We have visited U.K. Many times on holiday and longer stays.
We want to invite an elderly friend with us on our next holiday. My hubby mother is late, but this lady is like a 2nd mother and he wants to give her a treat when the whole family goes for summer. She has never travelled before she is 62z
He intends to sponsor the whole journey. He gives her monthly upkeep of 100k ever since his mum passed.

Would there be an issue with him sponsoring her on a visitors visa for 3/4weeks during summer and what docs would he need to provide?

Thanks guys
