A Nairalander, Dr. Akorede Kamil, who recently made the front page on Nairaland with his project on coding in the street of Ilorin, for girls in Kwara state, has just graduated with Distinction from the University of Central Lancashire, United Kingdom, making him the first to graduate with a distinction since the creation of his department.
Dr Akorede just completed his second UK masters degree in Disaster Medicine. His first masters degree was in Public Health at the University of South Wales, United Kingdom. He is a medical doctor, public health expert, and a two-time Commonwealth scholar. Until his graduation, he was the Northwest Regional Coordinator for Commonwealth Scholarship Commission, UK, and a brand ambassador for his university, the University of Central Lancashire.

just to clarify your statement, the post says a nairalander which is someone I know.
He is only helping the younger generations in Kwara state, and he is not getting paid for it, He is only giving back to his community. Everything is not about money, giving back to the community and inspiring the young ones should be our priority when we become successful.

A Nairalander, Dr Akorede Kamil, who is a medical doctor, a Commonwealth scholar, and the Regional Coordinator with the UK Commonwealth Scholarships Commission, has returned from the UK to inspire the young girls on the street of Ilorin by introducing them to basic coding, and productive learning platforms like Google and YouTube.

Inspired by the enormous application of coding in healthcare, Dr Akorede who holds a masters degree in Public Health at the University of South Wales (UK), and masters in Disaster Medicine at the University of Central Lancashire (UK), joined Lancashire Coding school to learn computer programming. He has since been inspiring young girls in senior secondary schools in Ilorin, Kwara state.

Ahead of today's LG election holding in all the 16 LGAs in Kwara state, the residence of the senator representing Kwara North has been set ablaze by aggrieved youths in the senators hometown, Lafiagi, for many reasons of underdevelopment in the region, particularly Lafiagi. Prior to becoming a senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Alhaji Sha'aba Lafiagi was elected Governor of Kwara state in January 1992, under the defunct Social Democratic Party (SDP), and was removed by the administration of General Sani Abacha in November 1993. He was elected as senator representing Kwara North in the National Assembly in 2011 and re-elected again in 2015 under APC.

Angry Mob Set Country Home Of Kwara Senator Ablaze After Soldiers Escorting Him Shoot Innocent Civilians

The country home of Senator Sha’aba Lafiagi of Kwara North Senatorial district has been burnt down by a local mob in his hometown after soldiers accompanying him on the eve of the Local government elections in the state shot four people. Eyewitnesses told Saharareporters that several persons were injured in the milieu. Many residents have fled the town as more soldiers reportedly arrived and began shooting indiscriminately in the town.
