The main criminal here na the blogger wey say this equipment wey we dey see so worth 1.2bn naira. |
IamaNigerianGuy:The only sensible comment here so far. Sowore does not have a workable plan. Just noise and empty promises. Just like Buhari. |
julietm123:Did you forget that this is a scholarship worth more than 15m and you want to forgo it for a 183k a month job? Is the job guaranteed to be there forever? Can it still meet his needs in the next 5 years? Did you think about his chance of getting a better opportunity after his studies or returning to the job he left? Everybody's case can't be like your friend's. I left my banking job for the same PTDF scholarship and I was better off afterwards. |
DanXplore:Your fears are valid bro. I was once there. I was a PTDF scholar myself. I studied Engineering too and was working as an IT engineer in the bank but had to leave my banking job when I got the scholarship. In life, you cannot achieve anything worthwhile without taking some risks. Having to leave your KPMG job was a risk and it didn't kill you. Staying in your sales rep job in the poultry feed company is also a risk just as leaving it for your scholarship. You now need to weigh the risks. To me, taking up the scholarship has the lowest risk. PTDF scholarship covers your tuition, accommodation, books, laptop, return ticket and ALL your living expenses in the UK. Your monthly stipend should be more than the 183k you are currently earning and you are not paying accommodation from it. The only risk is what happens after the scholarship. And there are things you can do to better your prospects after the scholarship: 1) Maintain good relationship with your current employer. Be open, tell them about the scholarship and be sure to resign gracefully. No good employer would not like to take you back after studying abroad on scholarship. I had the chance to return to my former job only that I had better plans after my masters. 2) Develop employable skills. Engineering related jobs are scarce because we graduate engineers at a faster rate than there are engineering firms coming up. You can look beyond chemical engineering and develop cross industry skills. Entrepreneurial skills are highly valuable to any organization. If you have flare for software development, it's a skill that can always fetch a job anywhere in the world. 3) Save. Ensure to have a good saving from your current job and your PTDF stipend. It can keep you going while you are looking for job after your studies. There are also some jobs you can do in the UK that can pay you higher than menial jobs and won't take much of your study time. E.g. teaching. |
xdream:Have u got someone to sign ur reference? I can help with that. Call me on 08102673888. |
xdream:Registering on Web4Africa ( http://www.web4africa.net/clients/?aff=1386) is easier and cheaper and u can pay in Naira. Just N1,920. I don't like searching for domains on Godaddy because if u search and don't register it on time, they will register it and offer it to u at a premium price if it is a hot domain name. |

autofreak2020:@autofreak2020, have you ever attended a Mound Inspections training session? Pls ask people who have passed through our training. Mound Inspections is not just a training company, the training is just one of the ways we get the right manpower we need to deliver quality NDT inspection services to our clients which include top multinational oil companies in Nigeria. So there is no way we can give a training that is not rich in practical experience. Your post smacks of a deliberate de-marketing attempt and I would advice you to desist from such. If u have in mind to project another company, there are better ways of doing that. |
prupru:the next training starts from March 2nd, 2015 |
Bigboyz32:I'm not in ur shoes, so i won't be able to judge. But the fact that u guys were many (smart guys) and the man was bold enough to obtain all of u to the tune of 5k without fear of being reported still amazes me. We still have a long way to go in this country. |
jeffmyson:@jeffmyson, u said it all. Nigeria will not change unless we decide to make that change in our own little ways. It is alarming paying 5k just to get TIN that should be free. How are u going to account for that in your books? The earlier we stop this our 'national cake' mentality the better for us. Youwin money is not free money. It is given to us not to share, but to create jobs. It is still too early to start unnecessary expenses. @ Bigboyz32, the problem is we always want to get everything sharp sharp and in the process we do what we are not supposed to do. I did my TIN application today and did not pay a dime. They said it will be ready next wk but it is still ok. I can still open d account pending when the TIN is ready to regularize. Youwin can still pay in money once i have an account number. The only thing is that I might not be able to withdraw till all the documentations are ready. |
TAJIBADE: Baba i am grateful. THANK U GOD? I made itcongratulations |
God I made it! Thank u baba. I cannot thank you enough. Wishing u all the same. 1500 winners. |
It is out finally! https://www.youwin.org.ng/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/20140922_YouWiN_3_1500_Provisional-Winners.pdf Still dey gather liver to check my name. |

medoty: I think its not proper to include capital and at the same time depriciation as part of FC. It will seriously affect your break even analysis and its like double charging. The best thing is to charge depriciation at appropriate rate of 10, 15 or 20 percent depending on d rate of usage. My tot, understanding and opinion thoughYou are right. With depreciation, u have already accounted for the cost of the capital asset u utilized. No need to include capital cost again because u could still resell ur asset at a price less the depreciation amount. Anyways, I don't think they will pay much attention to the analysis at this stage. I believe this stage is just to have a fair understanding of the capability of the applicant to run the business. |
Denn: i would advise you go with a device that can run your software if it is fully designed or the schematics.thanks bro. I'll go with ur advice. |
Well done guys. Good job sharing ideas. I will be doing mine on 22nd Aug. Pls 4 those that have done, do they have a projector? If u have a software product, will u be asked to demonstrate it? |
