Nice one 👍 bovali: I think I'm gonna be posting a snapshot of my portfolio at the start of each quarter cause that was the second b2b quarter of 40%+ returns. Also because streetinvestor is always mocking me for not dropping advise. That being said, i will never recommend anyone to invest in what i don't have stake in. DD advised as always. Side note: I'm still upcoming so don't laugh at my portfolio. I have 45m in cash that i will use to average down if needed. |

The mention of Zimbabwe... ositadima1: Why I Think the Naira Will Not Continue Falling Further
The people at the helm of affairs, even though they have foreign-denominated stashes, know that a falling naira will spell trouble for them. It will affect their clandestine deals and operations. If the naira were to continue losing value, Nigeria would finally go up in flames, and they don't want that—there's still value to be siphoned.
Look at the current drama between the government and labor: a government that doesn't care would have simply printed naira to settle labor disputes, but they didn't. This supports my analysis above.
Don't get me wrong; if we continue as an overly import-dependent nation, the naira will keep falling. However, the people in charge will do everything possible to slow its decline, keeping the population in check while they siphon resources. This will continue until oil goes out of fashion, at which point we may follow the Zimbabwean route.

GUINNESS. The GUINNESS rush has tapered down after the rumored N81.60 buyout price. However, there are some unpopular yet key information to note. The transaction is expected to be completed by the 2025 fiscal year-end, subject to regulatory approvals. PRO - Tolaram has one of the largest manufacturing, marketing, and distribution networks for consumer goods in Africa. It is the parent company of BHN Logistics, one of the largest haulage logistics companies in the country. - "Tolaram Group likely generates more revenue than some FMCG giants like Flour Mills of Nigeria, Nestle Nigeria, and BUA Foods" CON - Despite its 50-year presence in the Nigerian market, it has a history of " not publicly listing any of its ventures". This could mean a potential delisting of Guinness Nigeria from the NGX. - Diageo remains the owner of the Guinness brand and will enter into a long-term license and royalty agreement as part of the terms of the agreement. However, the cost implications of the licensing and royalty agreement are not yet known. Do your own research, take moderate risks AND do not be greedy... |

ON POINT! freeman67: She said everything she had to say in the quoted post. In all the stocks you mentioned bar Transcorp, something happen that changed their fortune chiefly of which is management.
For transcorp, the management didn't change but it took an attempt for a take over before the Chairman had to let minority shareholders benefit. That's someone that's even known to democratize wealth ooo (As he would say) if you compare every other of his company listed.
What is the antecedents of Oandos management? When last did Oando pay dividends? How much dividends has investors that bought it about 70 Naira gotten cumulatively from 2010 till now.
Also, this is not their first time of acquiring assets. Oando acquired ConocoPhilips in 2014 with fanfares. How has that benefitted the shareholders.
There is all also " Future Potentials" and "revenue and profitability" that at the end will disappear all the while it will just disappear as usual. So, let us just gamble in peace and allow sentiments make money for whoever want to ride with the tides but if you really want to look at it based on antecedents, there's nothing in it . |

IMO, many traders sold yesterday with the hope that they will reenter after price drops. Today's resistance shocked them. Now they are driving this late full bid after realizing that 13.75 might just be a last chance to re enter... mikeapollo: It is not only heavyweights that aren't selling. Anyone that has followed recent developments in Oando would hesitate to sell his/her shares. The huge over N3 trillion turnover reported for FY2023 does not even include revenues from operations of the newly acquired ENI/NAOC oil fields. So one can imagine what the results could be when they integrate revenues from the ENI fields and almost double their output level in a year or two from now. People selling may be trading to re-enter later. I am also contemplating selling some of my holdings just to settle some bills urgently and re-enter again. But the timing is key. The results for HY2024 may be released soon which may affect the prices, so one has to weigh the pros and cons of each option . |
