If I explain you won't understand because you seem to be speaking from a fix point... PS: Try and get the book by Mr Bawa former Chairman of EFCC [‘The Shadow of Loot & Losses: Uncovering Nigeria’s Petroleum Subsidy Fraud’] stokfrick: So what have you benefited from subsidy removal other than inflation which anyways is even still under reported |

I'm not playing advocate here but we need to understand that these are painful changes that must be effected. We can argue the mode of enactment but trying to vilify the government is not too good. I recall many citizens also kicked against subsidy removal because "it was one of the benefits the masses get from the government". This same subsidy almost ran the economy aground... Heishere: It is a rip off. Those countries enjoy some benefits. Here, there is none. Currently I pay over 5M in tax per annum. Imagine how much it will be when the new one starts. Yet, I am paying for my own water, health, power, education, transport and even security etc. I am pained. Anyway, their enjoyment won't be long. The rip off will stop soon. |

How do you call taxation a rip off? Are you aware that some countries pay as much as 40% for PIT... stokfrick: If you use this same energy used in typing all these in abid to pressure struggling and poor citizens, to force our politicians to stop embezzling public funds first, I think you would not need to convince citizens to pay tax. Talk of putting the cart before the horse. Except you're somehow directly or indirectly benefiting from the ongoing rip-off |

When an athlete gets up from the bed, you need some time to warm up before you sprint... djo120920: Some people trade only for excitement. Some others have different strategies so they do not see what we see. I am only praying that Transcorp and Sunu and UCAP do not move until i have enough funds to load them up. I have not yet bought enough units. The kind of bed that prices of thise stocks have formed ehn, when they finally move, I expect it to be a sprint. |

The bolded gives a clear picture. WILMAR is in same class with OKOMU and PRESCO... GeeKudi: ...
✅ Summary PZ Wilmar operates a vertically integrated palm oil enterprise in Nigeria, from large-scale plantations through to refining, packaging, and developing consumer brands. It complements this core agricultural operation with forward and backward integration, smallholder engagement, and sustainability initiatives—all underpinned by substantial foreign investment. Let me know if you’d like to dive into production volumes, financial performance, or how PZ Wilmar stacks up against competitors like Okomu or Presco! |

I also share similar sentiments about the future of WILMAR in Nigeria. It remains to be seen IF ELLAH can pull this off... Omooloriredade: ....
Questions: - Why would a small company like Ellah want to raise that much? - How do they intend to achieve this? - Do they have sophisticated investors, foreign portfolio investors or venture capitalists waiting in the wings? - What would they do with the money? - How about the dilution to the register or impact on share structure? Will they be looking to address this in the future via a share reconstruction or what?
Management did indicate they were in discussions to acquire an entity. - How big is this entity? - Is that what the N250B would be used for? - Who are the potential targets? - Can this be likened to acquisitions that eventuated in the past eg STB vs UBA?
Pure Speculation territory now as I am also left scratching my head on what the N250B would be used for:
Wilmar international is now the sole owner of PZ Wilmar after PZ divested their 50% holding of the later for $70M (c. N105B) consideration. 100% of PZ Wilmar is about N210B. Could this be the target entity?
Wilmar’s plan post exit of PZ Cussons: “However, we recognise the importance of having strong local partnerships in the markets where we operate and will be looking for a suitable local partner for the business.”
ALL in my opinion. I could be sincerely wrong. |

Not sure of the cuurent figure... KarlTom: Ellah had received ₦2.08bn as deposit for shares. Plus the ₦420m convertible loan gives ₦2.5bn.
If they're raising capital via equity, 500m units (for SP of ₦5) is already pegged...
OS is currently 3,858,173,594
NB: Barr Emmanuel Jakpa loan was initially ₦1.5bn. No public info on how it reduced to ₦420m mikeapollo: There is no disclosure of the specific amount or volume the directors/shareholder debt-equity-conversion |
