BET 2017 Awards
Wizkid, Tekno, Davido nominated for Best International Act Africa.
Other nominees in the category include Mr Eazi, Nasty C, AKA, Stonebwoy and Babes Wodumo

The 2017 BET Awards set to take place on Sunday June 25 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles has rolled out its nominees in the Best International Act Africa music category.

Last year 2016 in Los Angeles, South African DJ and Producer Black Coffee went home with the award edging out Wizkid, Yemi Alade, AKA, Cassper Nyovest, Diamond Platnumz, MzVee, and Serge Beynaud.

Coffee became the first South African to win an award in that category.

The award ceremony celebrates mass achievements in black entertainment and honors music, sports, television, and movies released between April 1, 2016 and March 31, 2017.

The Lagos State Government has announced that the construction of the 38km Fourth Mainland Bridge would still begin this year.
The disclosure was made by the State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Steve Ayorinde, who revealed that government was committed to the proposed project.
Although Ayorinde did not mention the specific time of the year for the commencement of the project, it should be noted that the construction of the bridge was accommodated in the state’s 2017 Golden Budget.
Checks in the budget indicate that the sum of N844bn was earmarked for the construction of the bridge.
When constructed, the bridge is expected to pass through Itamaga in the Ikorodu axis of Lagos linking Baiyeku, Langbasa and Lekki areas.
You would recall that in May 2015, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode signed a Memorandum of Understanding with a consortium of firms and finance houses for the construction of the bridge.
The construction of the bridge will be coming 50 years after the state’s existence and 26 years after the delivery of the Third Mainland Bridge by the ex-military President Ibrahim Babangida.
Expected to have a four-land dual carriageway, the project when completed, will give birth to the longest of all the bridges connecting Lagos Mainland to the Island.

I posted it because I do empathize with her. In the days of Prof. Oloyede, she would have been given a job as the man rewards excellence. However, the current management seems not to appreciate academic excellence again. They did advertised a recruitment exercise In 2013 and not a single of the first class graduates in my faculty was called for interview (don't even know if anyone was called at all) yet new staff were recruited. You then ask urself, why go through the stress of getting a good grade when its seems to be about who you know?
