A SUMMARY ANSWER TO SOME QUESTIONS THAT CAME UP DURING THE DAY

For those whose rooms have not been approved, be patient as it will soon be approved. The way it is programmed is such that once you send a request, the Hall Warden will accept it on his computer. So for those of you whose accommodation application has not been accepted, it is simply that the hall warden has not accessed his computer system. So no cause for alarm

As regards those who picked the wrong category, e.g Hall Executive, Sport, Press e.t.c., simply expect your approval and ignore the mistake as the hall warden will rectify that while accepting your accommodation request. For those who are yet to pick that, tick on "Others"

As for people who wishes to pay for accommodation and school fees, be informed that you are paying the two into separate accounts NOT same account. And as regards school fees, you are paying the BUNDLED + GES FEE which is the total of your school fees, and you get that on the payment advice which is what you will take to the bank for payment. As for the accommodation, after approval, an Authority to Pay will show which you will print and take to the bank for the accommodation payment. You will get the account numbers at the various banks

As regards those that are having issues logging in into the email account opened by the school, simply change the browser, e.g, change from Opera mini to UC browser and make sure you do not click on "keep me signed in" as this will disable you when you use another gadget to log in

RESUMPTION REMAINS MARCH 23 AND ARRIVAL DATES MARCH 21. Things you need for your Hall Clearance include:

* Accommodation approval print out
* Copy of references submitted during clearance
* Accommodation receipt downloaded from d email account after online accommodation payment
* Passports

This is to inform all fresh students of the University of Ibadan that after due consultation with the management, it has been certified that fresh students should be patient till Friday this week before proceeding with their accommodation registration.

This is in a bid to get the bank and bank details for the payment of accommodation fee ready.

It is therefore advisable for every fresh student to wait till Friday before proceeding further with the registration as regards the school fees, once the University settles with the Banks in charge of payment, by writing to them a letter to that effect, the school fees will immediately be released.

We believe that should be ready this week As regards reference letter, the admission office will demand for two reference letters certifying your good behaviour and character (Note that this is different from the letter you submitted during clearance).

Therefore, you are advised to make photocopies of those letters as you will need them for your hall clearance.

As regards online accommodation registration, after payment in Bank and online input of pin for online payment, you will print out the accommodation receipt which you will take alongside some other things like accommodation form (printed out online), passport photograph, reference letter e.t.c to do you hall clearance beginning from Saturday, March 21 which is the arrival day.

Finally, 2014/2015 resumption remains Monday, MARCH 23, 2015 and registration begins immediately.

Nairaland General17 Year Ny H.s. Studemt Makes 72 Million!!! by Katdaddy(op): 6:12pm On Dec 15, 2014
He’s the teen wolf of Wall Street.

A kid from Queens has made tens of millions of dollars — by trading stocks on his lunch breaks at Stuyvesant High School,*New York magazine reports*in its Monday issue.

Mohammed Islam is only 17 and still months away from graduating — but worth a rumored $72 million. “The high eight figures,” is as specific as the shy and modest teen would get when asked his net worth.

Islam bought himself a BMW but doesn’t have a license to drive it. And he rented a Manhattan apartment, though his parents, immigrants from the Bengal region of South Asia, won’t let him move out of the house yet.

Still, the cherubic prodigy is living, and dreaming, large.

“What makes the world go round?” Islam asked in the interview, explaining his preference for trading and investment over startups. “Money. If money is not flowing, if businesses don’t keep going, there’s no innovation, no products, no investments, no growth, no jobs.”

Modal Trigger

Mohammed IslamPhoto: LinkedIn

Islam and a pair of other young, Wall Street wolf-cub buddies eat regularly at hot spot Morimoto, where they enjoy $400 caviar and fresh-squeezed apple juice.

They hope to start a hedge fund in June, after Islam turns 18 and can get his broker-dealer license.

“Mo’s our maestro,” one of the kids explained.

The three pals intend to make a billion dollars by next year. All while attending college. “But it’s not just about the money,” Islam told the mag, which ranked his spectacular success story as No. 12 in its 10th annual “Reasons to Love New York” issue.

“We want to create a brotherhood. Like, all of us who are connected, who are in something together, who have influence.

‘WE WANT TO CREATE A BROTHERHOOD… WHO ARE CONNECTED, WHO ARE IN SOMETHING TOGETHER, WHO HAVE INFLUENCE.’

*-*Mohammed Islam

“Like the Koch brothers,” he added, referring to sibling oil magnates Charles and David, worth $40 billion each.

Islam’s biggest inspiration, though, is Paul Tudor Jones, a billionaire hedge-funder and private a$set manager from Connecticut who ranks as 108th-richest American, according to Forbes.

Battered by losses, Jones would jump back in the game again and again. It was a lesson Islam found instructive when, while dabbling in penny stocks at age 9, he lost a chunk of the money he’d made tutoring. Islam swore off trading, realizing, “I didn’t have the balls for it,” he said.

Fortunately, he turned to studying modern finance, reading up on the titans of trading and ultimately finding inspiration in Jones. “I had been paralyzed by my loss,” Islam remembered of his 9-year-old self.

“But [Jones] was able to go back to it, even after losing thousands of dollars over and over,” he said.

And while Islam still needs to rely on dad to chauffeur him on inspirational drives past the magnate’s Greenwich mansion, he’s quick to quote from the guru whom he credits with getting him back in the game and making him “who I am today.”

“Paul Tudor Jones says, ‘You learn more from your losses than from your gains.’ ”
