I observe that many Africans, particularly Nigerians, align with Israel on a biblical basis in its conflict with Iran, often without conducting due diligence, considering historical contexts, or understanding the root causes of this 12-day war. However, in the practical realm of international relations, sentiments hold little sway. The determinants are weapons, advanced technology, innovation, power, and access to accurate information.

Would Iran have agreed to a ceasefire if they lacked the military capability to challenge Israel? If Iran had taken a passive stance like some nations, such as Nigeria, and suffered destruction akin to Gaza, would the concerns of President Trump resonate as loudly? Moreover, would this have shaped the broader dynamics of the ongoing conflict between Israel and Gaza?
As the ceasefire agreement unfolds, one can only hope that both nations will uphold their commitments. After all, in just six hours, enough rockets and missiles can reignite hostilities.
