I quite agree with his point but He is not a saint, agreed he lead EFCC and did some selective good job. Let him come and explain his wealth, why can he investigate IBB even with all the evidence that the Late Gani Fawehinmi is ready to tender, why is it also difficult for him to also prosecute Bode George and all the Governors he  accursed in public .  or why is he affraid to be investigated by the same EFCC he once lead. There is a lot of things that we do know. It is only the Almighty GOD that can help.

Believe it or not, other people see it as a challenge when you don’t care whether they have something of interest to say or not. They want to be the one who interests you.

Finally, the next time you go out whether it’s to a party or a bar or just a friend’s barbecue, bring a buddy with you. Bring someone who’s going to be there supportively whether you manage to catch someone’s eye or not. They can help you choose who to approach and what to say. The hardest part for anyone is to actually make the first move and start the opening gambit of the conversation, once you are over that bridge, it’s all downhill from there.

I dont really understand why this is so, I have seen a lot of this and
I have also asked the ladies too, I could not get a straight answers.

COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT THE END OF AN EXTRA-ORDINARY MEETING OF OPINION LEADERS AND GROUPS IN THE NIGER DELTA AND IGBOLAND



The history of the Niger Delta and its people is a very peculiar one. Ethnic nationalities of the Niger Delta, as against popular perceptions, were never colonized by the British. Rather, they were tricked into signing series of dubious treaties of protection with the British Crown in the 18th and 19th centuries, as the British at the time, sought to retain exclusive trading relationships with the people of this region at the height of European colonial scramble for Africa.



The amalgamation of the Colony of Lagos with the Northern and Southern Protectorates in 1914 and the eventual christening of the newly founded territory as Nigeria were done without the consent of the people of the Niger Delta.



These fundamental defects (that have always afflicted the process of determining every constitutional frame-work of the polity) according to Late Chief Gani Fawehinmi, are the root causes of our national tragedies.



Above all, the people of the country have never had the opportunity to make inputs into, accept or reject any constitutional framework through a referendum.



Consequently, the masses of our people have always been
treated as aliens in all constitutional processes from 1914 to 1999 as all
constitutional frame-works have always been imposed on them whether or not they like them.



It is important to note however, that none of the treaties of protection extinguished the sovereignty of the protectorates. Neither did the people of these protectorates relinquish their sovereignty. As a result, they expected that an end of British “protection” would mean a return to their pre-protectorate independence status.



That was not to be as they were later to discover that the British protectorate system had extinguished their independence and felt betrayed to find that their sovereignty had been transferred to the Nigerian State, the successor to Britain. With this illegal transfer of sovereignty, the people of the Niger Delta lost their jurisdiction over their territories, their natural resources and critical elements of their political and economic administration.



The concept of extinguished sovereignty as used above is deliberately framed to provoke an in-depth analytical discussion of the rights of the Niger Delta people, as well as those of other Nigerian nationalities covered by British protectorate treaties.



The following are some of the vital legal questions to which answers must be completely explored. Under what circumstances can the sovereignty of a people be said to be extinguished? Have the people ceased to exist? Are they extinct? Did they voluntarily extinguish their sovereignty?



By demanding the restoration of the rights of indigenous people to their lands and natural resources, the Kaiama Declaration was arguing for the non-extinguishable sovereignty of the people of the Niger Delta. Minority ethnic groups the world over, who are the indigenous or aboriginal people of their territories, face discrimination as they are marginalized and dispossessed of their lands and natural resources.



In declaring 1993 The Year of Indigenous People, the United Nations (UN) began to grapple with this problem at the global level. On June 26, 2006, the UN Human Rights Council passed a resolution adopting the UN Declaration on the Rights of the Indigenous People, recognizing their rights to their lands and resources. Does this Declaration apply to the people of the Niger Delta? Many of us believe it does. The challenge therefore is for us to advance this argument in our articulation of the plight of the Niger Delta.



Agitations by ethnic nationalities across the Nigerian state especially the Niger Delta will continue to be on the rise until specific processes are put in place to define and establish the sovereignty of these nationalities who were forcefully conscripted into the Nigerian state.



This meeting was convened by the Niger Delta Peoples Salvation Front (NDPSF) on behalf of all self determination groups in Niger Delta and Igboland; namely, Movement for the Actualization of a Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Itsekiri Peoples Congress, (IPC), Biafra Liberation Council (BLC), Ethnic Minority Rights Movement of Africa, Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force (NDPVF), Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) and Ndokwa National Congress (NNC). The main agenda is to re-define the focus of our struggle and develop modalities and strategies for the successful restoration of the sovereignty of our peoples. It is on the basis of these that we make the following declarations



DECLARATIONS

· As part of activities marking the 50th Anniversary of the occupying Nigerian State, the Senate of the Nigerian State should commence immediately, public hearings that would lead to the convocation of a Sovereign National Conference (SNC) of all the ethnic nationalities that were forcefully conscripted into Nigeria before October 1, 2010.

· Failure which, the British Parliament should immediately begin deliberations on the idea of abrogating the act of parliament empowering the 1914 Amalgamation of the Northern and Southern Protectorate and Independence in 1960.

· Also, the African Union should as a matter of urgency, convene its General Assembly with a view to constituting a special Commission that will work out the modalities for the peaceful and constructive dissolution of the failed Nigerian State.

· On the submission of the AU Report, the United Nations should convene its General Assembly with a view to setting up a special Commission that will supervise the peaceful and constructive dissolution of the soon-to-explode Nigerian State.

· This is the only way that we can avert the major human catastrophe that will arise from this degenerating socio-political and economic quagmire, because we shall take practical steps to restore our sovereignty.

We would also like to correct the erroneous impression being peddled around in certain quarters that the emergence of Dr Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan as President of the Nigerian state will deter groups such as ours from agitating for the restoration of the sovereignty of the various component groups within our alliance.

We make these declarations with the strongest of resolve to free our people from the shackles, debacles and manacles of the Nigerian State.

Terry G Caught Smoking Marijuana
 

The Ginger Your Swagga crooner, Gabriel Oche-Amanyi, popularly known as Terry G, has once again proved that he is arguably Nigeria’s most controversial after a camera lens caught him smoking marijuana in his watering hole.

Since Terry G hit the limelight of the Nigerian music industry few years back, he has not hesitated to tell his listeners that he is a staunch smoker of marijuana, a substance he always promotes in his songs.

Crazy Terry G! “I’m a singer, bring me the ganja”, popular rapper Terry G demonstrates with a wrap of marijiana as he sang in his music.

In  his song, Pass Me Your Love, [which he produced and was also featured by AY.Com], Terry G in one of his lines said “…because I dey smoke too much Igbo, e no mean e…”

Also in his smash hit song titled Free Madness, he actually said “…I’m a singer, bring me the ganja…”

P.M NEWS gathered that the Benue State-born singer has also established himself as a controversial artiste, following his face-off with show promoters and colleagues.

Some months back, he was detained at the Lagos State Police Command after collecting N600, 000 from UNIBEN students for a show and he failed to perform at the event.

He later apologised to the students and made a police statement that he will refund the expenses incurred by the show organisers.

Shortly after that, he was accused of stabbing a disc jockey called DJ Vein with a broken bottle at Fagba, Iju-Ajuwon area of Lagos.

Witnesses said the problem started between Terry G and Vein after the latter played Mallam Spicey’s song titled Free Cure at a hang-out where Terry G and his friends were relaxing.

In the controversial song, Mallam Spicey had abused Terry G, after the latter had also thrown jibes at him in Free Madness.

Terry G, born of a Deacon and Deaconess parents, was a church boy, and actually started his music career as a gospel artiste, though he could not release his gospel album due to lack of funds then.

Who are they representing?

Members of the House of Representatives at the plenary of the lower chamber this morning condemned yesterday’s decision of President Goodluck Jonathan to suspend Nigeria’s participation in tournaments organised by FIFA for the next two years, describing it as not well thought out.

The lawmakers, who feared that the decision will have a retrogressive effect on the development on football and most certainly attract sanction on the country from FIFA therefore asked President Jonathan to rescind the decision.

Honourable Emmanuel Jime had drawn the attention of the House to the President’s action in a motion he moved immediately proceedings commenced in the House this morning.

The Benue State Reps member said though the performance of Nigerian team in the ongoing competition is disappointing, it is not the worst as two previous winners of the competition- Italy and France were also kicked out in the first round of the competition.

Honourable Jime said President Jonathan’s decision to suspend Nigeria’s participation in international soccer tournaments is not a well thought out one as it will have a negative effect on the development of football in Nigeria.

Jime added that similar withdrawal from the CAF organised Nations Cup in 1996 had a very negative effect on football development in Nigeria. While speaking in support of the motion Chief Whip of the House, Honourable Emeka Ihedioha said it is disappointing that Nigeria spent huge sum of money to participate in the 2010 World Cup without nothing to show for it.

Ihedioha, however, put the blame at the doorstep of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, which he said has lost focus and is more of a bedrock of corruption.

He said while there is need for the executive arm of government to find the way forward for the development of Nigerian football, withdrawal of Nigeria’s participation in international competition as ordered by President Jonathan will have the most significant retarding effect on Nigerian football.

He also expressed fear that FIFA may further ban the country for additional two years instead of the two years the country said it will keep off from the international stage.

Ihedioha therefore asked the Presidency to reconsider the withdrawal order.

In his own contribution, Honourable Hakeem Gbajabiamila said banning the Super Eagles from participating in international competitions because of the poor performance in South Africa is like withdrawing a child from school because of poor performance. Gbajabiamila said the decision of the President and the presidency is counter productive and amounts to killing a fly with a sledge hammer.

Honourable Abdul Ningi said there has not been history of any country withdrawing from FIFA competition. He said while the agony of the presidency is understandable, the decision to withdraw from the FIFA organised competition may mean that Nigerian cannot even participate in tournaments organized by the Confederation of African Footbal, CAF.

However, the House minority leader spoke in support of the action of the President. But when the motion was put to vote, majority of the members supported the motion asking President Jonathan to reconsider his decision to withdraw Nigeria from international competition for the next two years.
