That's a very disappointing statement from a tribalism tainted person. You have been making this argument just to feel superior, neglecting superior facts just to feel good even if you are lying.

That's why I hate arguing with you guys. You argue with bitterness because you think others wants to supplant you. It's very unhealthy.
I am not feeling superior

I am superior

There's a clear difference and I want you to appreciate that difference grin

That's not the point, the point is Igbo movies paved the way for nollywood in fact , nollywood was build by Igbo cultural movies, Igbo movies introduced nollywood to the world.
Bullsh!t

There was a good movie industry before the low budget productions is my point. If you call that low budget crap Igbo movies, then, yes. You can own Nollywood if it depicts low budget crap

Baba, problem you people have is always claiming to be greatest in everything. its not healthy for making friends and maintaining relationships. Accept we started nollywood and save yourself this headache.
We are the greatest in Nigeria. No doubt about that

We are pioneers and everyone and their dog knows the truth. Creating an alternate universe isn't going to make you competitive

We loved things fall apart like we loved the village headmaster and a lot of its contemporaries, but they all have to belong to an era,

Living in bondage started an industry.
Living in Bondage popularised the cheap movie industry and began the death of the celluloid shot movies. It was no longer feasible to shoot expensive movies when the alaba traders were shooting straight to CD and pirating everything. It killed movie theaters and almost bankrupted Baba Sala and Ade Love

Thank God for the Yoruba Renaissance. Taking back what was ours angry grin
TV/MoviesRe: Is Southeast The Real Birthplace Of Nollywood? by kayfra: 6:46pm On May 31, 2020
SLAP44:
That was the first well organised movie that attracted international attention to Nigeria movie industry. That was the first film that put a name to movie actors and made them mega stars. grin

Living in bondage made thousands choose theater arts and subsequently blew to billionaire status.
It was trash. Disposable camcorder junk

Go watch any of those Ogunde or Baba Sala movies shot with expensive cameras and sets
TV/MoviesRe: Is Southeast The Real Birthplace Of Nollywood? by kayfra: 6:45pm On May 31, 2020
SLAP44:
Thank you. Most people wouldn't have considered reading theater arts till they saw living in bondage. It was the trigger for the business we call Nollywood today.
Trash

If I get into theatre arts and playwrights then you won't even survive this argument. I stuck with movies but if you want me to bring traveling theatres then this will be a domination by the Afonjas

Known of those movies are close to things fall apart , Igbo movies laid the foundation for nollywood , people all over the world who watch nollywood movies look forward to cultural movies by the Igbo's, I have heard black people from Haiti , Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago , African American etc say they love nollywood movies cause of the Igbo culture portrayed in them they say , the have learned a lot about African culture cause of those movies.

Yoruba movies are just like Hausa movies they are only watched by Yoruba's
Things fall apart is a popular Chinau Achebe book with a movie adaptation. The movie wasn't produced or directed by Nigerians and one of the lead actors is even Yoruba (Orlando Martins). The Director has a German sounding name and this is the imdb link

Coscharis, Stine, Josan rice, with mini rice mills across the states, Anambra is known for all season rice farming, not building mill and hope on northern paddy rice.

Living in bondage started Nollywood.

All other films and series before it were mere rehearsal for the main event.

Igbo also had many videos before living in bondage but they don't count them because they were forerunners to Nollywood.
Living in bondage ko, living in diapers ni grin

Silly revisionists! grin grin grin

Papa Ajasco and all these silly secondary school concerts were shot as Nollywood movies in 35mm films, transferred to VCD and DVD and sold as movies abi?abi?
You guys just love lies and trying to revise facts.

I'm sure if the first secondary school in Nigeria were in the SE, you guys will also list your Sunday School classes and try to claim it was the same. grin grin grin
The poor and wretched alaba economic migrants ruined the original Nigerian movie industry when they pirated every thing screened in cinemas. That ended the glorious days

Yorubas have claimed what is theres now and we rule all the awards and highest grossing movies.

Everything you guys touch gets rotten. They totally made Nigerian movie industry a mediocre industry with garbage production shot on camcorders. Utter nonsense

Everybody knew about them. They were also internationally recognized.

Just say they weren't played in your villages coz you had no movie theatres and could hardly afford a VHS player

The same way 'super story' series were later released as home videos.
And the Ogunde super flicks that got international recognition and screening are listed there. Brilliant movies

These are useless, local films that end in yoruba land.
All were better produced with better quality than that trash and disposable living in bondage. Totally mediocre quality movie shot on a camcoder.

These were mostly celluloid expensive production

smh you forgot super story. you are listing television drama series, soaps which were popular then. We also had the masquerade, village headmaster, Ichoku in the 70s and the very popular things fall apart in the 80s. These series gave were to become the springboard of the home video revolution started by living in bondage because most of the actors of the movie industry of the 90s and 20s were groomed by them not these ones you mentioned.
Doofus. Papa Ajasco movie was released other than the TV series. Learn something

And all the numerous Ogunde and Baba Sala movies listed there and also Ade Love.

Do some research and stop being delusional

PoliticsRe: No Igbo Man Has Ever Contributed To Biafra, Says Kanu by kayfra: 4:17pm On May 31, 2020
Futuragetty:
I would support our cause.
my Town In Nsukka Asadu, was wiped out during that war.
FG soldiers not only killed Women and children, they went as far as raping our women, burning our houses.
in Nigeria today, we have systems and institutions that produce racially disparate outcomes, against Ndi igbo.

We can raise moree money than Nigeria FG ever did for her national defence.

some people may not like the way MNK is going about it as it may not get us close to biafra.

I feel we can easily secure our freedom, if every igbo man joins an Igbo party, Say APGA. We have been enslaved by PDP for far too long, with nothing to show for it.

what are we going to achieve by doing this?

APGA will flip every political seats in entire south east. From State governors, Senators, Rep members, down to the very least- LG Council men.

- The State Governors will declare May 30th as Public holidays in remembrance of millions of Biafrans who died during the Civil war.

- Museums will be set up,and Our state libraries stocked up with Books about the Civil war, so the growing population of NDI IGBO will learn of their history and the country there are born in- Doing this will help, as many Biafrian youths do not understand why we are fighting.

Any of the eastern state, preferably Enugu will adopt Biafra Flag as the State flag.

Another important thing is to fund and equip our regional virgilante group policing the entire SE - This will bring peace and stop the influx of Fulanis in SE raiding our farmland.

Place Statues of Our fallen heroes, in strategic junctions in SE. Esp that of Major. Uchendu, PaAchuzie, Nwanya and others.

APGA will then do our bidding. get us biafra.

God Bless the United States of Biafra.

May the war dead, especially the victims of genocide, continue to rest. Moving onward, we say...........never again, ozoemena!
Wow. I am genuinely impressed. Someone that gets it. Kudos to you

Hope you can share this cerebral thoughts with the largely emotional iPob. These are steps that can work

AN EXTRACT FROM MAZI NNAMDI KANU'S BROADCAST OF THE 30th of MAY 2020, ON RADIO BIAFRA.

Compiled by
Mazi IKECHUKWU ONUOHA

1. An opening prayer by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

2. We have come to preach the gospel of Biafra.

3. Always remember that our enemies are numerous. They will do whatever it will take to bring us down. We have come to do that which is right in the eyes of men and Chukwuokike Abhiama.

4. I am not Aisha's boyfriend , I am not the dead Jubril, I am Nnamdi Kanu, and I lead IPOB.

5. Those that paid the ultimate price that we may live, they died. Is unfortunate, that those in America are busy eating burger and have forgotten whom they are .

6. What Dim Ojukwu our general did was to bring us true independence.

7. They have realised that this IPOB, through the power of Elohim has collapsed the ZOO, that's why they are running up and down yapping, but am here to cure their madness.

8. Africa was betrayed in Biafra. Those who worked against Biafra thought they were doing themselves a favor, not knowing they are shooting themselves on the foot

9. We salute the class of 67/70 , I called them the immortals.

10. a bicon was lit, for our people to see that we have reached a peak in this struggle

11. Midnight 29th May 2020, was the day IPOB reached a peak in this struggle and we have reached a point in this struggle whereby we can described as a beacon of hope.

12. Remember this IPOB, you will never be forgotten. The same way we honour heroes today so shall IPOB be remembered.

13. I am preaching about Saboteurs tonight becouse they are the ones that destroyed Biafra.

14. They claimed they love our People, but why didnt you remeber 30th of may if not IPOB.

15. No igbo rich man can give you a dime to do anything . They are all under oath.

16. In order to stop igbo men from supporting Nnamdi Kanu you went around gossiping about Nnamdi Kanu's name.

17. Do you think that Fulanis are stupid , they knows there is no weapons, that's why they came .

18. They have now brought in BBC igbo, where the British left off.

19. BBC igbo, the kind of thunder that will kill you have never been born.

20. All you traitors are the reason why we failed. Nnia Nwodo's father was a conk traitor.

21. I am older than all of them, I am older than Aisha buhari, but you will go to her and she will match on you, shameless elder.

22. I did not lose my parents to go and build some hopeless hotels .

23. A Fulani man is the one in charge of BBC igbo programming , the same BBC they gave to us.

24. We are no gentleman, anyhow you want it, we will give it to you. When Biafra come we will do gentleman.

25. BBC Igbo said today that they went to igbo land and everywhere is peaceful, they only fight going on in Ebony is between some villages.

26. BBC igbo is telling their mother station in London that there is no Fulani in our land. These are the people that are working with Nnia Nwodo.

27. If they are fighting for Biafra they can't be in Biafraland. If you are a freedom fighter, you either be in prison, exile or grave.

28. No igbo man can dip hands in his pocket and give you $50,000, to go and do Biafra, they are stingy.

29. Ask yourself, a war that course 3m lives, have you asked yourself why BBC has never done any documentary.

30. Because all these men are criminals, they say how can he be different, I am Nnamdi Kanu.

31. By time we are done with Fulani, every Fulani , every Fulani emir will be overthrown by hausa .

32. Envy can reduce an igbo man to nothingness, that is how we lost the war, how can Ojukwu win a war and become the President.

33. Have you ever seen anything with igbo in it worked.? And that is why God will use Fulani to teach you a lesson. The time has come.

34. Saboteurs are in BBC, they are all working together .

35. BBC go through your comments line during your interview with Nwodo and Tony Nnamdi .

36. BBC Igbo, your job in igboland has crumbled , we will use you to send a message.
Mazi's message is very powerful

It is getting us Biafra daily. We now have 500 inches of Biafra land today

Hail Biafra the Jewish country in the West African jungles
