Education / Re: FG Approves 8 New Universities Across Nigeria by kayol2012: 3:57pm On Nov 02, 2016
Stelvin101:
Graduates are flooding the labor market every year, BSc/HNd Graduates have been reduced to Sales boys and girls in Labor market, Keke riders, Online sport betting gamblers, MMM Freaks, GNLD Marketers and so many other useless and odd jobs. Yet Federal government wants to build more Universities when they cannot provide jobs for the number of graduates being produce by already existing universities. God what crime dis we commit that our Government does not know its left from right. cry

High rate of unemployment aint an excuse for citizenry to be illiterate. Do not blame the institutions for the high rate of unemployment but curricular and reasoning of graduates. Churning out half baked and analog graduates is the root cause. What do you expect when most secondary school students rely on expo to pass waec and cheat their way through higher institutions. Stop looking at the surface/facade bro but the root cause of the issue which is corruption and laziness on the part of our lawmakers who should rejig school curricular. Every citizen should be well educated if possible up to higher institutions because literacy begets a safe environment. Being literate makes one less likely to be brainwashed by fanatics. What is the ratio of number of universities in the country to people earnestly seeking for admission? My take though

Family / Re: My Wife Is Too Proud To Apologise by kayol2012: 11:10am On Oct 07, 2016
You guys have a nascent and lovely home. Marriage is not about who is right or wrong but concerted efforts put into it by the two parties to make it work. I believe she would change cos all responsible people all do. Dont nag or make big issue out of it but constantly make her see reasons why she needs to stop. There is a way you tell people to go to hell and the person will be looking towards the journey. Constantly remind when both of you are in the best moods. Good luck bro

I have worked in Four Multinationals and two indigenous companies. Do you think its beans to pay 500K to staff with other benefits? What is your definition of small company so that i can school you?
Family / Re: My Wife Absconded With Our Kids by kayol2012: 2:16pm On Oct 05, 2016
Noted observations from your write up:

1) You are not in charge : Most women want and love a guy that knows what he wants and has a clear picture of how he wants his family to be run. This is the reason why women dont fall in love with nice guys but friendzone them. It can easily be deduced from your comment that your wife always has her way in the house. Allowing her to take strategic decision of relocating from Lagos to Osogbo when you have not done your cost and benefit analysis of relocation was sloppy and clumsy. It could mean you lack focus and direction to women. Being in charge does not mean always having your way or exerting unnecessary control in the house because her input counts but you are the head of your house and you should be prepared to bear the consequences of action you take. I blame you and not your wife.

2) Conflicts are best resolved when we hear from two sides: I aint taking sides bro but we need too hear her own side. Regardless, there is a conflict that needs resolution. I advise you convince your family to have a rethink and look for means to solve this issue. If you allow this to fester, it would result into irreconcilable difference and break your home.

3) In Law: Did you do profile your inlaw before getting married to your wife? Are they responsible ( providing a place of abode for your wife when you have paid the bride price on her)? Some inlaws consider it a taboo to harbour their daughter after marriage provided it is not domestic violence.

4) Relationship between your parent and your inlaws: what is the chemistry between the two? I believe this can easily be resolved if there is good rapport and cordial relationship between them. Try and ensure this is in place.

5) Communication gap: You need to consistently drum the song of "E go beta into her ears" until your condition ameliorates. Nobody wants to suffer but you MUST and i repeat look for a way to make her understand things would be beta. I know it could be hard bro, but you should try and make her see your efforts. What you guys are experiencing is financial problem that you would certainly outlive. Go for resolution provided its not domestic violence.

Learn how to use your in law to get this issue resolved and have good rapport with them. I pray it is resolved soonest.

vickylala239:

I have HND and also a chartered accountant. Worked with 3 multinationals and 3 indigenous companies in the space of 6 years. You guys should stop deluding yourselves about this BSC. Read this and change your mindset about BSC http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/206737-nigerian-universities-fail-make-list-worlds-top-1000.html. When you say HND is cheaper to recruit, i laugh is foreign language. Are you speaking from your point of view or generalizing? My brother that was a fallacious and misleading statement. I am the highest earner in my company with BSC and even second degree in UK Hull University to be precise. Be cautious when you are making a general statement and argue like a graduate. Always use a caveat and put you stand to be corrected. Im cautious when i debate issues with your ilk.

Your view sound bias and you know that....

One can easily tell that you hold HND...

Well Why then do you Ppl Dnt advertise for HND only...

Why then do top companies root for uni...

You are of a small firm, but bigger firm root for uni,it means you are yet to see What does bigger firms are seeing.... What this means is that a bigger firm cnt require your services only the small as you are not up to their standard...

Hnd is sometime cheaper to recruit as they do not attract Mega pay, unlike Bsc who could leave for a bigger shot later...

I put it to you that if you were holding uni degree,u probable culd be wrking in a bigger firm to day...you services is required in a smaller firm Cuz they cn afford you....

Only that an average Nigerian will deny all this as u abt to do so...
Career / Re: HND Holder Vs Third Class Degree Bsc Holder: Which Is Better? - EDUREGARD by kayol2012: 5:16pm On Jul 08, 2016
I try as much as possible to stay off topics like this " comparing HND and BSC". I have HND in Accountancy and also doubles as Chartered Accountant with years of experience. Im confident no Bsc graduate can intimidate me in my profession because i have consistently proven and assiduously tried to develop myself both mentally and in all spheres. I see HND as a means to an end and does not define my target, ambition and vision. I have on several occasion headed department littered with Bsc and at times 2nd degree. I am the pioneer staff of the company i work with in Nigeria with a company i work with and this happened after having interviewed countless BSc graduates. You can not outgrow your mentality. Succinctly put, If a HND holder strongly limits and believe he/she is inferior to BSc then so be it. Do not generalize the issue of 4 or 5 credits as i have A, b's and never failed a subject in waec. Self believe, continuous development and HND/Bsc would not define me.

Before money was introduced we had Trade by Barter. You use money to buy what YOU DO NOT HAVE. When everyone has money, who would produce what you do not have, hence, money becomes useless. Accountant uses his book keeping and accounting knowledge (service) to earn income and same goes with every one. If money becomes free, no one will be willing to produce and how do you even earn foreign exchange to import.

Business / Re: Why Do Our Bank Charges Us N301 While Cbn Sell For Them At N199 Per Dollar by kayol2012: 6:49pm On Jan 21, 2016
Agreed the official rate is N197 but the parallel market depends on the forces of demand and supply and also the wickedness of BDC because they can decide not to sell even when CBN sells to them @ N197 causing artificial scarcity. Firstly, the major source of USD or hard currency for FG is through revenue from crude. The revenue from this source has dwindled which ultimately means the reserve of USD with CBN has also reduced and this means CBN needs to prioritise the utilization of scarce but heavily demanded USD. Government has to make purchases in USD like purchase of equipment for prosecution of war, meeting debt commitment and other pressing commitment having at the back of your mind that Naira is worthless outside the shores of Nigeria except countries like Niger, Benin, Ghana and lesser extent cameroon i.e all govt commitment outside the country would be offset using USD. Govt has to prioritize either to sell to BDC and fund citizen desire to use imported items like toothpicks, expensive wines, watches and designer wears. Truth be told, Govt has no USD to continually fund those items earlier mentioned, hence, the decision to stop selling to BDC. To answer your question, if your needs fall within scope of what is approved by CBN, banks would sell to you @ official rate say for your travel ($10000 to be sold @ official rate provided you produce proof). The directive of the govt is not to fund items that are not on approved list and if any citizen chooses to use imported items then go source for USD. Banks are free to charge you any rate once your needs does not fall within confine of approved items.

Because Dasuki never vowed to eat his confessional statement and never showed erratic behaviour. Problems can not be solved by the level reasoning that created them i.e it will never continue in PDP way and this is the change we voted for. You might argue its a selective fight but i do not care about that. All i care about is for the monies stolen to be brought back.

Politics / Re: PDP Condemns Handcuffing Of Metuh by kayol2012: 12:00pm On Jan 20, 2016
To all ethnic bigot and wailing wailers claiming Metuh should never have been handcuffed and comparing Metuh's treatment to Dasuki...To the wailers see the diff; Dasuki has been co-operative with EFCC, never ate his statement, never declared to go on hunger strike and never behaved erratically and irrationally like Metuh. I am also of the opinion that being handcuffed or not is a matter of courtesy and discretion of security officials and not right of accused. Why not argue a case for common criminals being abused and handcuffed on daily basis. Is the rule of law and fundamental human applicable only to the elite? People need to be properly educated. January 12, 2016 Metuh vowed never to return alleged N400million stolen but will now pay N400m in bail. what is the essence of earlier bravado? ‪#‎supportcorruptionfight‬

Seriously...Some comments are hilarious and laughable. Its a known fact that all animals are equal but some are more equal than others. Nigerians suffer not because of leadership but quality of followership. Law states anything above $10,000 should be declared and some Nairalanders are justifying illegality. This is pathetic and annoying. Does two wrongs make a right? When you comment, think about Nigeria of your dream. If NDLEA is trying to do sth meaningful and deserves praise, they should be lauded. The type of comments i read here shows again why youths are being neglected and not carried along. if youth are the future of this country and these are the comments of future leaders....SMH and weep for Nigeria.

Some comments here are really hilarious. Nairalanders justifying impersonation with unemployment is heart splitting and makes my heart bleed.
We have an employment column on Nairaland for either unemployed or not gainfully employed people. Would this country be peaceful if all the unemployed clone police uniform or take to robbery? We would have anarchy and lawlessness. When they say youth are being neglected, these comment justify it.

Dont go. Its GNLD. Steps to take when you get an invite:
1) Google the name of the company
2) If unsuccessful, call to ascertain the position you applied for
3) The venue of the test or interview center is also a factor. Big companies are situated on the island, apapa and partly ikeja. No GNLD company can afford to rent an office on the island say VI, ikoyi and apapa.
These are just tips anyway.

Why is this making a headline? Guess its cos he is a son of former head of state and president. So many soldiers have been shot and killed and many still missing. This corroborates the saying all animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others. If he was shot, i wish him quickest recovery but its the hazards attached to his job. Making a mountain out of
molehill just saying what about others shot.
