How do one sponsor a full grown working class adult to go on holiday? shocked It raises flags!

Try to understand the comment properly. What @hosey meant by "valid reason" most probably does not include "holiday". It is a more compelling set of circumstances which could be anything from family bereavement to the wedding of a close relative(ie siblings) or even just to take some exams.

The generalised comment that an adult of working age who can't afford it cannot be fully sponsored and get visa is wrong in my experience. It may be uncommon but it's not impossible.

Thanks with the above information, will definitely be helpful for others. Could it have been different if it was just a standard application?

Could it be the case that standard or priority application actually determines the earliest biometric appointment date one could get, can you tell from your experience?

No. There is no connection between type of application and the date of biometrics. This is because you choose the biometrics date while submitting your application. Priority is an added-value service which you purchase afterwards from their partner- tls -anytime before your biometrics appointment.

Congratsssssssssss.. happy to see a successful application

Great question about why the biometrics was done later..

Also, please can you share the checklist/docs you used for the application? and the Sheffield address Used to post ur docs..

S3 8WA or S3 8NU?

Congrats once again... priority service is sweeeet ooo..

[b]Documents submitted:

Application form and appendix 2
Applicant's cover letter/Sponsor's cover letter
Application/IHS/priority receipts
Photocopy of applicants/sponsor's passport data pages

UK Degree certificate & TB test

UK marriage certificate
Daughter's birth certificate
Marriage/casual photos
Child dedication photos
Proof of money remittances up till 2017( I stopped using the bank in favour of a friend who lives in the UK and I explained in cover letter)
Whatsapp chat download/Screenshots of calls
Photocopies of applicants/sponsor's travel stamps to UK/Nigeria (no boarding passes or etickets)

6 months payslips (authenticated)
6 months original bank statements
Letter from employer

Tenancy agreement
Rent statement/ utility bills
??hope I'm not forgetting anything ?!??

One thing to note is my wife lives in a council house. The housing officer refused to issue any letter regarding permission to add another occupant. They directed her to one department instead and we were told to pay almost 200pounds and wait 10 extra days for inspection report we dont need. In the end we just decided to chance it and not waste any more time or money

UK Visas and Immigration, international
P O box 3468
Sheffield, United Kingdom

S3 8WA

And yes, priority is well worth it if possible.

Congratulations

Is there any reason why it took a bit longer to get biometrics done?

Was looking for a way to pay for priority all that time as tls did not register my account from where you'd usually access extra services. I later learnt from them at the vac that it was because I applied through the old visa4uk website. They gave me their UK bank account details and I had to cancel that appointment and choose to walk-in at a later date as i wanted to pay for the priority. Not just me, there are others here that had the same issue.

Greetings all,
Been a silent follower for the last 4/5 months grin and I have to say the information I gathered on here was immense. Thanks to @lexusgs430, justwise and co. God bless U all. Here's my time line for anyone interested..
Application submitted: 14th May, 2019 @tls Ikeja
Priority/non-priority: Priority
Biometrics: 6th June, 2019
Email stating " application transferred to UKVI: 6th June, 2019
Email stating "application currently being prepared for consideration": 19th June, 2019
Email stating "application assessed": 16th July, 2019
Email stating "passport ready for collection": 16th July, 2019
Passport collected with visa: 17th July, 2019
(Vignette: 18 July - 17 August)

Altogether 29 working days from biometrics despite my initial fears about few minor errors. What a journey it's been!

Goodluck to everyone still expecting good news.
