vaxx:All these ghana, nigeria and all west african natikns were at once or more than once been in a coup. Its not about french as many think because ghana, liberia, sirra leone, nigeria, etc are not french colonies. And it is not about having a centralized government either. Tanzania or China have a centralized govnment and we never had a coup. Actually its more harder to do a coup in a centrallized gov |

AskiaHarem:Am still not much convinced. If they dont like bad governance, why are they governing poorly once they take over from the so said bad leadership? For example, All these coup leaders have not yet transformed these economies. But when you go in Asia you will see some military leaders who did very well eeconomically. But in africa,a coup after a coup, nothing much have done economically. That tells us the motives for these coups were never about removing bad government. May be it is a curse? Or witchcraft? Or both? Or madness? Or may be just everybody wants to be on top, some sort of a cultural stuff? |

I congratulate the kenyans for a bold decision which they have made by abandoning the arguments in online media. The truth have finally sunk in their hard skulls. They have now realized that lies and deception wont help help. Fake data and fake statistics wont help a country. They have now known, Tanzania is ahead. No need to waste time arguing. Kenyans have embraced the bitter truth finally. Quietly they have dissapeared.Quietly they are digesting the bitter truth which is right in their faces. Kenyans are now wiser. They have chosen a right path. No amount of arguing was going to be enough to put "unga" on the table. Conratulations again But this didnt just happen. It took years of planning by us the TZ folks by doing stuff which are now bearing fruits and more fruits are coming. Transforming our agri sector until we are now the bread basket of the region. Forming policies and eradicating tribalism was at the core of everything until now we are tribeless folks. Industrialization is gaining ground, they are busý importing our stuff. Big projects which are ongoing are busy stripping them naked. Imagine the electric SGR of TZ! Imagine the hydo dams! The nucleur stuff. The 42 billion dollars LNG.The 20 billion dollars carbon trading. Imagine the brand new Dodoma city! Imagine the bridges and stuff! How could they be here and witness all that? |

The question remains...why West africa has so many coups? Is it due to low levels of developments? Is it due to french influence? But i doubt that because gambia, sierra leone, liberia, ghana, nigeria, etc were not french colonies. So why the coups? May be there is a curse? Who knows? Or may be there is some cultural stuff which makes the folks to love to be on top no matter what!? Is there a nation in west africa which didnt fall into a coup? In this part of the world where I am, we have tanzania, kenya, malawi, zambia, botswana, namibia, etc, which never experienced a coup. |

A 20b investment for Tanzania........ INVESTMENTPOLICY Tanzania Has Attracted Over 20 Companies To Invest $20B In Carbon Credits by Petya Trendafilova July 17, 2023 2 minute read African nations are on the road to further benefiting from the voluntary carbon market. Tanzania announced last week that it has successfully attracted over 20 companies, expected to invest more than $20 billion, in carbon credits. The Minister of State in the Vice President’s Office (Union and Environment), Dr Selemani Jafo, also added that since the country introduced in October 2022 the Environmental Management (Control and Management of Carbon Trading) Regulations – Tanzania’s first piece of legislation on carbon trading in the country, it has attracted more than $1 billion (Sh2.3 trillion). The investments will be mobilized annually through carbon trading across the nation. The legal framework issued in the country on carbon trading aims to provide for the control and management of carbon credits projects in Tanzania. It is expected to discourage deforestation while encouraging citizens to capitalize on the available potential. By embracing environmentally friendly projects, Tanzania, as well as other African nations, have the unique opportunity to attract investment, create jobs, and contribute to economic growth. The 20 companies that have agreed to invest in carbon projects in the country are from Kenya, Russia, Singapore, the USA, Canada, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Switzerland, Estonia, and Italy. According to the Deputy Minister for Natural Resources and Tourism Mary Masanja, the applications from these companies were received by the Tanzania Forest Service Agency (TFS), Tanzania Wildlife Management Authority (Tawa), Tanzania National Parks Authority (Tanapa) and Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority (NCAA). “We have already entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with some companies, and talks with others under the coordination of the National Carbon Monitoring Centre, are in progress,” said Mrs. Masanja. The companies have decided to invest in the central government’s reserve forests, village forests, tree-planting programs, community-based wildlife management areas, and game reserves, among others. Forest carbon offset projects in developing countries have received negative press in recent months due to released evidence that most of them are essentially not effective in generating either extra emissions avoidances or additional emissions reductions that wouldn’t have happened otherwise without the proceeds from the credits purchases. For example, analysis by The Rainforest Foundation UK has shown that the record 90 million credits into the voluntary carbon market that Gabon issued last year, failed to represent any real reductions in carbon emissions or additional capture of carbon in its forests. Both carbon credits buyers and project developers, including governments in developing countries, need to develop mechanisms that will serve to ensure the transparency and reliability of local projects, to eliminate a huge overhanging threat to the existence of the world’s nature-based carbon credit projects. |

Tanzania's secret nuclear plans.... Tanzania's secret nuclear plan unveiled at global summit Victor Oluwole August 2, 2023 11:59 AM Tanzania reveals its ambitious secret nuclear plan at the Second Russia-Africa Summit. The plan aims to develop the nation's vast uranium reserves for economic growth and improved living standards. In a momentous revelation at the Second Russia-Africa Summit, Tanzania, the East African nation renowned for its diverse wildlife and breathtaking landscapes, has emerged with an ambitious and previously undisclosed nuclear plan that could potentially shape the continent's future. With the goal of bolstering economic growth, improving the quality of life for its citizens living below the poverty line, and securing its position as a prominent player in the global nuclear energy sector, Tanzania's intentions have captured the attention of the international community. The announcement came forth from Tanzania's Minister for Minerals, Doto Biteko, during the 'Cooperation in Science and Technology' panel discussion titled 'Nuclear Technologies for the Development of the African Region.' The disclosure caught many by surprise, as the nation had been quietly laying the groundwork for its nuclear aspirations. Central to Tanzania's plan is the development of its abundant uranium reserves, identified in various regions of the country, including Namtumbo (Mkuju), Bahi, Galapo, Minjingu, Mbulu, Simanjiro, Lake Natron, Manyoni, Songea, Tunduru, Madaba, and Nachingwea. The successful adoption of nuclear technologies from other countries could expedite uranium exploration, leading to unprecedented growth in the nation's nuclear energy sector. The news has ignited enthusiasm among Tanzanians and has also garnered the attention of global experts and leaders present at the summit. Notably, Alexey Likhachev, Director General of Russia's State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom, expressed his confidence in Africa's potential for power generation capacity in the coming decades. According to him, Africa's rapid population growth and increasing energy demands have made the continent a focal point for nuclear energy development. The implications of Tanzania's nuclear plan extend beyond the country's borders. Experts anticipate that this revelation will set a precedent for other African nations to explore nuclear energy as a sustainable and reliable solution for their energy needs. The African continent, home to more than one billion people, is predicted to account for one-third of the world's population by 2050, and addressing its energy challenges is pivotal for achieving sustainable development. Princess Mthombeni, Founder of Africa4Nuclear and a Nuclear Communication and Technology specialist in South Africa, highlighted the importance of embracing Russia's proposals to ensure Africa's sustainable development and the well-being of its youth. The successful implementation of Tanzania's secret nuclear strategy could signify a paradigm shift in Africa's energy landscape, propelling the continent towards a brighter and more sustainable future. Note: The summit concluded on a positive note, with African countries displaying interest in collaborating with Russia and adopting nuclear technologies to address their energy needs. -- |

Omofaye99:Presumption. Your problem is to base your arguments without proof. What is even worrying is how the same Nigerian army which failed to deal with home insecurities will be able to deal with the unknown enemy in a foreign land. Again,Do u think it's so hard for Russia to support Niger? Is it not the same Russia which was in Angola, Mozambique and so many other places in africa? What will be the reasons for Russia not to support Niger? |

Omofaye99: That's what Russia was thinking about Ukraine, but a year later into the war,we realize Ukraine isn't a walk over. Many nations are behind Ukraine The same scenario can play out in Niger situation where the west wl use Nigeria to wage a war and Russia will use Algeria to defend Niger. Never underestimate your enemy especially more when you go into his territory.Remember Vietnam with US? |

Mkenya2019:Go argue with the world bank who placed TZ second in africa and 26th globally.. A NEW report by the World Bank (WB) has listed Tanzania as among countries in the globe with effective use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in delivering public services. Whereas globally Tanzania is placed at 26th position, the country emerged second in Africa and tops the list in the East African Region. The GovTech Maturity Index (GTMI) report, whose study was conducted last year in a total of 198 countries has placed Tanzania at 26th position in the globe, it has climbed from 90th position in 2021 when it was in group B to 26th place and moved to group A. As part of the GovTech Global Partnership research agenda, the World Bank has placed a focus on measuring GovTech maturity around the world. These efforts culminated in the first edition of the GTMI launched in 2021. The construction of the GTMI is primarily based on the World Bank’s GovTech Dataset, which is publicly available through the World Bank Data Catalog. The GTMI is a composite index that uses 48 key indicators (including eight external indicators) to measure critical aspects of four GovTech focus areas in 198 economies: supporting core government systems, enhancing service delivery, mainstreaming citizen engagement, and fostering GovTech enablers. In Africa, the study was done in 49 countries and Tanzania has emerged second after Mauritius for the use of technology in government services. It was established that the use of ICT in Tanzania has increased by 0.86 per cent in the last one year. In 2021, Tanzania was placed 5th after South Africa, Ghana, Kenya and Rwanda. In East Africa the study involved 13 countries, namely Burundi, Comoros, Djibouti, Somalia, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Sudan, Eritrea, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Seychelles and Tanzania. The report further shows that in Tanzania the sectors of education, health, finance and agriculture were leading in provision of services through ICT and hence simplified access of services. It was noted that the success was a result of a whole-of-government approach, including the e-Government Authority (e-GA) provides vision and leadership regarding ICT policies, strategies, and operations. Also the report argues that the Government Communications Network (GovNet) is a secure shared network connecting 72 ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) and 77 local government authorities (LGAs). Furthermore, the government e-office system (GeOS) facilitates day- to-day government administrative processes involving movement of files and documents. The online service portal also brings services closer to the public by allowing citizens to apply for passports, permits, and licenses, and to make payments online. The government mobile platform (mGov) offers a one- stop shop center for government mobile services via push (G2P) and pull (P2G) SMS, USSD, and mobile application (Android and IOS). The study measures countries’ maturity in digital government transformation in four GovTech focus areas including core government systems and shared digital platforms, online service delivery, digital citizen engagement, and GovTech Centers. It is the most comprehensive measure of digital transformation in the public sector. This iteration captures many changes and initiatives that were launched in the last two years. The Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent recovery efforts have emphasized the value of digital for government and development outcomes. This is a key moment for GovTech. Governments are beginning to recover from the Covid-19 pandemic while facing bold challenges on fiscal space, peace, stability, and climate change.

Mkenya2019:Geez I need to teach you many stuff...... Do u think the constitution works alone without people? Do u thinķ a constitution is like a magic wand, once u write it down then everything will work out well? If it was that easy ,many countries could have been corrupt free as of now. But unfortunately, constitution need people's will and the desire to make the said constitution work. That is where choosing and grooming good leaders is becoming important. Leaders are there to make sure the constitution works as it have been intended. Your zuma is not in prison although if the constitution was to be applied as it says, the guy could've been in jail although a lot of bloodshed was going to happen. So the leadership decides to avert the bloodshed by letting the guy off the hook. Here the constitution was ignored for the sake of peace. Suprisingly, you deny about Rutos role on fighting corruption but at the same time u mentioned stuff which Ruto did on fighting corruption. You are a confused fella. Moving things online is just one aspect of fighting gov corruption, but it shouldn't end there. As u know, TZ is way above many African gov on the use of IT on gov services actually the country is second in africa on the use of IT in government, but the corruption didn't end. That's why u need more leadership interventions on fighting corruption. Son,do u know why some gov officials are awarded for fighting corruption?

Mkenya2019:Madness. Why are you removing Ruto from fighting corruption? Ruto should fight corruption, actually all African leaders should prioritize fighting corruption. Ruto or any other president in africa should fight corruption by doing so many stuff, but these are just the basics... Choose and appoint clean ministers and other officials Removing beuracracy and time wastage in dealing with corruption cases If the laws are weak,go and convince the parliament to change the laws Expose corrupt officials and allow the law go punish them quick Minimize stupid gov expenditures 2 Likes |
