Can a Nigerian without a residence status in the US apply in the Los Angeles office? I doubt that.

From my findings, you can't change your status from a visiting to study permit in Canada. I will do more research on that possibility though. If you have any info, please kindly share.

What is even annoying me most is the fact that I will lose about 10% of my fees if I ask for a refund. That's quite a lot in this economy coupled with the fact one has already lost almost 250 CAD in application and biometric fees.

Now it's clear this people dey delay pgd/pgc applicants for no tangible reason. Everytin about ur application is perfect from wwhat you've listed; finances, job prospects after ur prog, travel history, relationship btw ur previous program, job and ur proposed program. Nawa for CIC.
Na to use your visit visa enter and change ur status be d surest tin b4 ur visa expires. No dull ur self bro

I feel so too but in other to satisfy my curiosity, I will wait for the gcms notes. I applied for it last night, that would take about 40 days as the site stated. What I find ludicrous is why discriminate against people based on their proposed level of study? I have a second class upper in Chemical Engineering but doing a master's degree won't add to my field knowledge in my line of work. A PGD would go a long way to empower me with more practical knowledge in my field but then CIC knows best in their mind.

However, to defy CIC I will take a trip to Canada next month with my visitor's visa and possibly visit Lambton College. I have been told there is no January intake for my course, only September.

What did u study in d university, what program are you going for now and is you present job related to your proposed program at lambton?
I studied chemical engineering and I applied for a PGD in Chemical Production and Power Engineering Technology. My current job is related to my proposed program as clearly stated in the letter of employment from my employer. I am with a company that specialize in wellhead maintenance.

Good evening house, this is my second post on the thread. Eventually heard from CIC this evening, study permit was denied. Reasons being "you have no satisfied me that you would leave Canada at the end of your stay. Purpose of visit and current employment situation". I find it ludicrous because I submitted my letter of employment, letter of introduction from my employer and more so I have paid my school fees. What is even more surprising is that I have a valid visitor's visa to Canada that will expire September 2017. The same documents of employment I used in securing the visitor's visa last year are the same I used for the study permit. If I portend an immigration risk, I wouldn't bother applying for a study permit. I think they just give any excuse that comes to their mind to deny PGD applicants.

Please can anyone give information on what kind of GCMS notes to apply for? Standard GCMS or GCMS Plus? Thanks.

I have been a silent follower of the thread. I started following after I had submitted my application online. I applied for a TRV on 13th June and like some other persons going for a PGD course, I am yet to get a call for medicals too. I have a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering and I applied to Lambton College, Ontario to study Chemical Production & Power Engineering Technology.

I have a valid 2 year visitor's visa to Canada that I obtained last year, though I am yet to visit Canada as the visa was issued after the expiration of my vacation. I also have a valid visa to the US and a 2 year visa to the UK also having been to those countries at least 3 times each without overstaying or violating visa conditions.

I believe the visa applications are overwhelming on CIC and they need to find a way to expedite their visa processes. Treating visa applications for this long shows inefficiency not meticulousness.
