phy: @kcluv2men, are you talking of Cal state university bakersfield, if yes, i know of someone that could help you out. he's also on this forum but very busy. Post the issue here and i can help you hit him up.

GboyegaD: I wouldn't know because I never processed undergraduate studies therefore, it would be better you search the schools and their admission requirements.

GboyegaD: I am so happy my other friend got his VISA today. I encouraged two of my roommates in my final year to apply and now both of them have their visas on virgin passports at their 1st attempt. I feel so delighted unfortunately, I do not have full details of their interview.
For those going for their visa interview, I would encourage you to be bold believing that the visa is yours and you sure would get it.

leadzeal: Guys, I did pay my sevis fee today at cotonou. On my way there was pleasant but on my way back was hell. I got into the 'one chance' folks on my way back.jesus was so merciful to me. Am not goin to go into details but I employ you guys to be careful when goin there. My suggestion is dat u folks use the oda means rather than dis cotonou ti. I hope I get over this.

GboyegaD: I truly do not know if your school located in a particular city gives high chances of visa but I know if you are admitted to some schools that may help. I am in Texas.

GboyegaD: Many schools actually do but you may have to check them out yourself. I support individuals searching schools for necessary requirements because it helps you get necessary information about your school and why you are picking a school above others.

GboyegaD: I mean since you are trying to cut cost, you could apply to a university and community college and once you get to the US, you transfer to the community college because that way, it helps you save some funds since community colleges are cheaper. You do not need disclose that to the VO.

If I may ask, what level are you presently?

GboyegaD: While I appreciate your wanting to start again, I would also advise that until you have your VISA at hand, please be very serious with your present studies. I finished from Ife and I had friends who wanted to leave Naija then to come study in the US and unfortunately, they neither finished from Naija nor are they in the US presently. The reason was because they joined those who had similar dreams and who felt they were going to travel together in the long run and were never serious with their studies however, they were denied VISA many times. A bird at hand is worth a million in the bush.

GboyegaD: Sorry if I sound rash but why are you fed up with the system? I understand your wanting to study in the US which I know is a very good decision however, I have challenges when people complain about their school because here could be tougher than you think.
Lastly, why not apply to a University and a community college as well and when you get in here, you can then transfer your SEVIS to the community college. As for what you have been doing since you left High School, you could tell the VO it took you a while to gain admission however, you are presently studying in your school but you know in terms of quality of education and exposure to real life situations and practicals in your field of study, US gives you better opportunity.

imperiouxx: These days getting visa is becoming hard, therefore, I won't advice you not to get every document it takes to win the interview at one time at the embassy. About school searching, I spend 13 hrs of each day in the lab (saturdays sometimes).....so, no time! Also, you've to choose your path yourself. Affordable schools and living expenses are mostly found in the south-west US.

imperiouxx: Friend, forget about that associate degree, you are a full degree student in Nigeria looking for associate degree in US not even pre- (it's like going from level 4 to 0.2), where do you think that will get you to? The outcome is gonna be denial, don't just try it because you can't prove it beyond any doubt. You are an international student, the degree isn't for you because you will pass through embassy and convince them you want to spend millions of naira on getting such worthless degree. It shows you wanna escape into US, though that's what students do. No more advice than look FOR a full degree (BS/MS/PhD) to make your case good with the embassy.

The time you wasted in processing that community college could have been used to process a university!!! Many people have spoken about community colleges before. It is close to impossible to secure a visa with a community college.

I am applying for an associates degree to a community college and I am currently in school hee in nigeria-OAU to be precise but I am really fed up with system and I have dreams of schooling abroad but the problem now is that I have finished secondary school since 2007 but the problem now is that I scared this might be used against me in the embassy.Please I really need help.
