Good day all, I have been following this DPR recruitment page with keen interest. I actually joined this forum last year so as to be part of the whole thing.I have read a lot of people's posts, comments and speculations.By rare privilege, last December, I met a very senior official of the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, then there was speculation that the recruitment has been cancelled, but this senior official told me that shortlisting is still in progress and the recruitment is still going ahead. When I shared this privilege information to people on this forum, a lot of people attacked and insulted me, since then, I just decided to "siddon and observe ".He also told me when the test would be conducted, so in order to avoid being called a speculator, I just kept it to my self.Just yesterday, I tried all I could to get intouch with this official, when I contacted him, he told me that he was in Lagos on Monday, specifically in DPR for a meeting, he told me that simply because they sent message to some people to update their details, people started using the social media to suggest and speculate on what is not accurate. He said categorically that DPR has not concluded the recruitment, and has not started sending messages for interview. I didn't want to abuse the little privilege that I had, so I dididn't go further. But he also told me that when DPR is ready, they would call successful candidates, which I am praying that many hopeful candidates would be invited.
Before people would begin to call me a speculator, and throw insults and abuses at me. I did not say that I got the specific date and time for the interview, I only made enquiry because of the numerous rumours and speculation about the recruitment.
This senior official of the ministry once worked with Dr. Ibe Kachikwu at Exxon Mobil, and presently a special adviser in the Ministry.

So her portal been open means her name has been added to those to be interviewed You fail to consider that the people doing the finishing touches might realise there are something missing in ones documents or details and needed to give that opportunity to them to input the necessary stuffs!!!

I can't wait to see peoples reaction when the interview invites starts rolling in.

Remember there was a guy on this thread who said that his source told him that more people will be invited for the interview, placing emphasis on those with engineering backgrounds?

A friend of mine who was not sent update message and whose portal was closed since got an update profile text from DPR early hours of today. At first, she thought it was a scam. After convincing her otherwise, She tried to login to her portal and to my surprise, she was able to update her profile. Her profile is currently open and shes an Engineering major.

Some people on this thread do indeed have reliable sources.

What buhari is saying is simple. All MDAs cannot carry out recruitment exercises unless it is approved by the presidency. Its pretty self explanatory because there is a clause. So I believe all MDAs, before starting any recruitment exercise has to get a pass from the FG

Regard as false. If it was true, it would have been widespread like the update profile mails.

I just even called a friend of mine who was not even invited for the aptitude test in July. She just told me that she is unable to login to her portal. Its telling her application portal closed. If someone who was not invited for aptitude test has the same fate, you can imagine it is the same for those that were invited for the aptitude test. Its just too obvious. DPR should have just sent a regret mail to clarify this issue once and for all

Before I get insulted further, let me clarify my earlier comment. This is intended for those who didn't get the update mails and those whose portals were closed irrespective of weather they were invited for the aptitude test or not.

Its unfortunate that you would say such a thing. Let me make myself clear since you not getting what I am saying. Instead of putting people in doubt, DPR should send unsuccessful candidates they do not intend to employ regret mails instead of sending a handful update profile mails and keeping their profiles open. You can insult me as you like, it does not change what is blatantly obvious. I wish you the best in this recruitment exercise.

The information I am passing across is simple, DPR Portal would not send uploading emails to candidates and close people's portal for no reason.

You guys have also made instances of NNPC past recruitment where NNPC sent update emails to people and those people ended up being unsuccessful in the process. However, what they did not tell you was if NNPC closed the portals of people that did not receive emails back then.

What I am saying is simple, Application Portal Closed is the status of even people that were not even invited for the aptitude test, not to talk about those that were invited

I'm compelled to quote you as it seems you're one of the very few who knows what's up as regards this recruitment. I mentioned earlier in this thread that DPR intends to recruit over 700 staff. This isn't a speculation or suggestion as I saw a copy of the request memo they sent to FCC. The figures were put at 700 and something (not exactly 750 I saw, though I'm not disputing your figure as they may have finally settled for that). As per the portal issue, many will be surprised. The fact some of us dont come here to speculate doesn't mean we are ignorant of certain things. I knew as far back as March 2016 that DPR will recruit in October same year and I mentioned it with one of my popular alternate monikers here on Nairaland. The whole process is shrouded in high level secrecy and only few people can confidently tell you the state of things. That said, I repeat that as at today 02nd of November 2017, everyone who wrote the aptitude test stands a chance, only the interview mail will seperate the successfuls (which includes those on merit, connection and God's favour) from others. I called SNAPNET last week, the first question I was asked by the technical team was if I got the update email and text, to which I gave them my response.

They made it clear to me that some people got only emails, some got only texts while some got nothing.

I also observed that some people that didn't receive emails or sms were still able to access their portals and update their information. Its not everyone that SNAPNET wanted to contact that got an email or sms.

Besides SNAPNET were the ones carrying out the aptitude tests so they will be the ones to forward list of successful candidates in the aptitude test to DPR

Up Until now, all we have said on this thread is mere speculation. As a matter of fact, there is some of form of restructuring taking place in DPR so it is uncertain as to when they would even invite peeps for the next stage. We all applied around october/ november 2016 for this job, we got invited to take aptitude tests in july 2017. The process might be a very long one, so its in our best interest to wait patiently and believe in God for our respective testimonies. Hopefully things would start to move smoothly soon

Good evening everyone.

This would be my first nairaland post and my first post on this thread.

I have followed this thread meticulously and I am a bit disappointed with the way some of us insult others that they might never meet in this life.

This is my take on the recent developments with respect to the email sent to some for the purpose of updating their profile on the online portal.

1. Those that were sent emails still have their portals open, while the ones not sent emails have their portals saying closed or moved. Painful as this may sound, the one sent emails are the ones that DPR wants to have further correspondence with.

2. When some individuals were invited to write the aptitude test, other were not even sent mails or text messages to sit for the same aptitude test. As I write this comment now, some have received regret mails while others are yet to receive regret mails.

3. The people that were not invited for the aptitude test when they log in to their profile, it still says portal closed.

4. The time the application portals were created was in November 2016, update mails were sent in October 2017. Almost a year has passed so has the CV of all the applicants that applied to DPR hence the need for having candidate portals updated is necessary.

The way this all played out speaks for itself. I may be wrong but hey never say never until it is clear who DPR invites over for the interview. I wish everyone that took the aptitude test on this thread good luck and success in the ongoing recruitment exercise.

How long does it take the school to review my application and make a decision on that.

Based on academic history and study plan i am not satisfied that you a bonafide student.

I am applying for a MBA at TRU and have a 2.1 in marketing.I finished NYSC november last year and i took up photography to keep busy until my visa gets approved.I stated on my form that i was a freelance photgrapher and had not yet registered my business.I was also adviced to include an avidavit of compliance stating that i would not contravene the terms of my visa.I also included a letter stating reasons why my visa should be approved such as financial consideration,travel history and the rest.

For the personal asset and financial status i didn't include my own bank statement cause their was no much money in it.So i am guessing if i do that now it would solve that one.

Please i need advise on what to do i am considering getting a company to employ me and give a letter of employment.But i am thinking of how to go about it and not raise a red flag.Also trying to put together a strong LOE.

The major reason you were refused a visa was associated to your employment history and current employment situation.

All other reasons that have been ticked on your refusal letter is related to your employment situation one way or the other.

Take for instance the purpose of visit reason. The VO isn't convinced that you are coming to Canada to study. Instead, he believes that your sole purpose of migrating to Canada is to secure an employment.

Family ties in Canada and in county of resides could have been as a result of you not including a family form, containing the details of your family members and their birth certificates to your application. However, if you did, then this reason came up as a result of you not having strong ties to Nigeria. Example of a strong ties to Nigeria may include, arranged employment, proof of ownership of properties, tax clearances, e.t.c

Personal assets and financial status probably came up because of your employment history and employment situation. Even if your Father was your sponsor and he had over 120m in his account, this excuse would still come up.

Still get the GCMS. It would clear any doubts that you may have.

Hello Bro, Am highly motivated to go through your note, it gives me hope on my awaiting Admission letter from MUN. Plus, I wouldn't mind if you can guide me on how to secure ITA for express entry. I wish to give it a trial just like you. I applied to Memorial University early last month with all necessary documents but I haven't gotten any reply from the school.. I sent a mail few days ago, but I was told my file still under review. I still keep the hope high, will join the successful ones here soon.

I submitted an application for MASC in computer engineering @ MUN.

I have a BSC Industrial physics @ covenant Uni and got a CGPA of 3.63. Although in my last two years of study, my GPA was not below 4.12.

I also have an MSC in electronics engineering @ the University in d UK. Unlike Nigerian universities which make use of GPAs, I got a 63%(B) merit in my masters.

How strong do you think my chances of securing an admission are?
