BusinessCBN Takes Over Etisalat Nigeria, Appoints New Chairman, CEO by Kejilee(op): 8:23pm On Jul 04, 2017
CBN Takes Over Etisalat Nigeria, Appoints New Chairman, CEO

_
Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has taken control of the troubled Etisalat Nigeria after the telecom firm failed to meet up with payment of the $1.2 billion loan it took from a consortium of 13 banks few years ago. -
Reports reaching us indicate that a Deputy Governor of the CBN, Mr Joseph Nnanna, has been appointed as Chairman of the company after Mr Hakeem Belo-Osagie resign last week from the position.
_

Also on the new board of Etisalat Nigeria are Mr Boye Olusanya as the Chief Executive Officer, and Mrs Funke Ighodaro as the Chief Financial Officer.
_

It was gathered that this latest move was taken in order to save the firm from total collapse and restore confidence of foreign investors in the industry.

_
Etisalat Nigeria is the country’s fourth largest telecoms firm with over 20 million subscribers. It came into the country in 2008.
_

Also to join the board of Etisalat Nigeria are Mr Oluseyi Bickersteth and Mr Ken Igbokwe.

_

A statement issued by the firm on Tuesday explained that the decisions reached so far reflect the high confidence all the stakeholders have in the continued viability and sustainability of the business.

_ “The smooth transition is also proof of management’s commitment to ensure that the operations of the company run seamlessly, and customers continue to enjoy superior network quality and positive customer experience Etisalat Nigeria remains committed to continuously serving our subscribers, through the provision of innovative products and services with its committed staff, partners and vendors to empower the needs of our customers and improve their experience on the network,” it said further.

Mr Joseph Nnanna is an economist and a Central Banker. He has three decades of post qualification professional experience.

10 Bad habits that affect and damage our brain – Organic Health Universe

Compiled by Afolabi Adebayo

1.No breakfast
This meal is really important the most important in the whole day, but when avoided all the time the blood sugar levels get spiked and low and irregular. After a night of sleep and no eating, you need food. Otherwise the brain gets no nutrients and is easily damaged

2. Lack of good thoughts and stimulations
To think also engages the brain in healthy work. It opens up new pathways and activates every segment of the brain. You have to work the brain all the time, otherwise it shrinks up or gets damaged due to inactivity. Why not working on the skills you might be great at? Learn, talk, think!

3. Rarely talking
Talking makes the brain work and activates it. Engage in intellectual talks as much as you can and boost the health of the brain.

4. Working when ill
We all are in a rush, speeding, having too much things to do. We all work when we are sick, one thing or another. But, this means the body is begging for rest! Give the body some rest!

5. Polluted air
You can’t wear a mask all the time of course, and there is not much you can do with this. The brain needs a lot of oxygen and this polluted air deprives us of it.

6. Covered head during sleep
It sounds weird but we need as much oxygen as we can get during the night, this limits you to breathe in the whole oxygen. Also, you get more carbon dioxide this way!

7. Smoking
The worst of all habits here. It has many side effects but for the brain, it causes shrinkage and dementia related issues like Alzheimer’s.

8. Overeating
This makes you gain weight, be obese, damages the stems in the brain and reduces the mental focus.

9. Too much Sugar
Sadly, there is sugar in everything we eat or drink. You will benefit a lot if you reduce it. For starters you can absorb more nutrients in the absence of sugar and prevent brain issues.

10. No sleep
No sleeping for long periods of time reduces healthy brain cells. Sleep repairs the whole body from the stress and regenerates every cell.

PLEASE CARRY A VALID ID IN YOU IF YOU LIVE IN #IKORODU -POLICE
.
From @policenglagos – Press Release

ATTENTION TO IKORODU RESIDENCE;

The Lagos state police command would like to inform members of the public especially residents in ikorodu and environs, that from henceforth everybody moving around that part of the state, residents, students or workers should always have on them a valid form of identification.

This has become important and necessary because of the series of police operations lined up in the area by the Lagos state police command led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of operations.

The Lagos state police command is deeply concerned about the criminal activities in the area which is not only unlawful but also affecting the integrity of the state.

The planned police operations demands residents to carry on them a valid form of identification which will be verified, in order not to be restricted or face apprehension as adequate security arrangements have been put in place for the safety of every Nigerian throughout the state by the police and other security agencies.

This order takes immediate effect from the 4th of July 2017.

Signed
ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole
Police public relations officer

Celebrities“my Strategy Was Prayer & Divine Connections”- Adesua Etomi by Kejilee(op): 3:29am On Jun 28, 2017
“My Strategy Was Prayer & Divine Connections”- Adesua Etomi
_

She Opens Up About her Career, Friends, The Wedding Party & More in New Interview..The Wedding Party and Knocking on Heaven’s Door star, Adesua Etomi in an exclusive interview with The Guardian Life opens up about her career, friends, The Wedding Party & more.

_

According to her, her circle of friends is a very small one even though, through her charming smile, she attempts to be friendly with everybody.

_

Read excerpts from her interview below:

_

On what her strategy was when she came into the Nollywood industry:

I didn’t come here thinking I am going to meet this person and meet that person, my strategy was prayer and divine connections. That was what I was going for, I wasn’t trying to look for who was going to help me or give me a handout. I knew what I wanted to become and I didn’t know how I wanted to get there but I knew the things I didn’t want to do to get there. I knew there were certain things that were associated with success and that’s preparation, staying prepared, keeping the work at the forefront of everything that I do.

_

On how she got her role for The Wedding Party:

I auditioned just like everybody else. On the first day I came for the audition I read with three guys, so that’s three different stages then on my fourth audition stage I had to read with Banky and that’s when I got the role and that was when he got the role too because he went through the audition process as well. He had to read with myself and someone else before they finally decided on myself and him for the final pick. #nollyzone #nollywood #nigeriancelebrities

Lolsss ,wait do you believe in white lies huh

The most interesting fact of em all........ It can lie for Africa ehn
Literature20 Interesting Facts About The Human Tongue by Kejilee(op):
1. Did you know that tongue is the only muscle in human body that works without any support from the skeleton? Yes! It is known as muscular hydrostat.

2. Our tongue is the home of our taste buds. When looked under a magnifying glass, hundreds and thousands of small bumps will become visible on the tongue. These bumps are known as papillae and are the actual home of our taste buds.

3. Tongue is not the only place where taste buds live.Taste buds can also be found on the inside of our cheeks, on lips, on the roof of our mouth and even under the tongue.

4. Approximately, there are 10,000 taste buds in our mouth of which 8,000 live on our tongue and the remaining 2,000 are found in the places we mentioned in the previous point.

5. There are specific segments on tongue for sensing different tastes. The notion that different parts of the tongue is responsible for sensing different types of tastes (in other words, there are taste belts) is actually a myth. Our tongue can taste sour, sweet, bitter, salty and umami. Umami is actually a very new variant of taste discovered by a Japanese scientist who found that the chemical that is responsible for this taste is mono-sodium-glutamate.

6. Our tongue is the only muscle in our body that is capable of sensing taste and sending taste signals to the brain. Each individual taste bud has around 15 receptacles that are responsible for carrying taste signals to our brain.

7. The tongue is THE STRONGEST muscle in entire body. However, it is at the same time, one of THE MOST sensitive muscles as well.

8. In terms of flexibility, tongue beats every other muscle in our body! Because of this flexibility, the tongue is capable of easily manipulating food inside the mouth and is also capable of acting as a natural cleanser for our teeth after a meal.

9. Our tongue has a very unique property. It is incapable of detecting taste if it is dry. This means that if you place a piece of lemon on a dry tongue, you will not be able to tell that it is sour. The tongue gets its ability to sense taste only in the presence of saliva that keeps it moist.

10. The color of the tongue can tell a lot about a person’s health. Here are some color indications about health: Pink Tongue = Good Health; White Tongue= Fungal Infection and Yellow Tongue = Stomach Problem or Fever.

11. Tongue prints (actually tongue imprints) of humans are unique (very much same as the fingerprints). Tongues of different humans are of different shapes and will have different number of taste buds, thus making the tongue imprints unique.

12. Tongue has a really really rough texture. Did you ever notice that while kissing someone?

13. Women have shorter tongues compared to males.

14. We mentioned in point 9 that a dry tongue is incapable of detecting taste. That’s because taste buds are capable of sensing taste only when molecules of the food (or whatever you put in your mouth) dissolve in water (our saliva consists of water).
This essentially means that you cannot sense taste of anything whose molecules do not dissolve in water even if you have a moist tongue. Ever tried tasting glass?

15. Here is an interesting tongue fact – you don’t keep your tongue clean and you will get bad breath. Why so?
That’s because our mouth is the home of 600 different types of bacteria and a single saliva drop contains 1 million of those bacteria. Our entire tongue remains moist due to saliva. So, can you ever imagine the number of bacteria present on our tongue?

16. Every taste bud on our tongue has somewhere between 50 and 100 taste sensing cells. No individual cell is capable of tasting more than one taste.

17. About 2/3rd of the tongue is visible and the remaining 1/3rd is not visible. The part that is not visible is close to the throat.

18. In Tibet, you can merrily stick your tongue out at others. It will not be considered rude or childish. In Tibet, it is actually a greeting.

19. The tongue is more important than we think. It does not only help to taste food but also helps to talk, to spit, to swallow and even to kiss.

20. The longest human tongue to be ever recorded was 3.86 inches from back to tip. The widest tongue measured 3.1 inches. The longest female tongue to be ever recorded was 2.76 inches.

“That is why during registration those with results will be uploading their results, while Awaiting Result candidates will not upload anything”, the statement concluded

So if you hope to apply for 2017 UTME using awaiting result, go ahead and do so. JAMB will not disqualify you for that.

(Episode 1) Chronicle of a Royal Prince and the Devil Incarnate

I was born with a silver spoon; my parents were the crème de la crème of society being that, my mother was the only daughter of the Oba of Lagos, and my father, the chairman of Balon Oil group. Suffice it to say, I was destined for a good life… or not.

I was six years old when mother died. That day was the worst day of my life, it was the day that the stars aligned for evil, and the Universe changed my lot. The day before mother died, she had taken me, her beloved son on a shopping spree because Christmas was in two days. She had been so busy with her fashion house, that I had thought that this year’s Christmas would be my day of mockery as I would not be wearing any new clothes. We shopped the length and breadth of Balogun market, entering only the exclusive stores with their expensive, state-of-the-art interior décor. In this kind of stores, you must be alighting from a 2016 model of car, and be dressed in new season clothes, for any of the salesperson to attend you. After shopping, the six years old me needed a break; mother took me to a fast food restaurant, where I had lots of ice cream and pop tarts to satisfy my little heart. How would I have known that this would be my last time with mother? It was like the biblical last supper.

I slept like a prince, counting the days to Christmas, when I could show off my new expensive attire to the other rich kids in the estate. I always wore the best even when the other kids had richer parents because, when money meets a fashionista, a novel idea is birthed. Mother was fashion oriented so she had an eye for design and fabric, with this precision; she picked my clothes at the store. I was in lala land when I heard a piercing scream; it was unmistakably my mother’s. I Jumped out of bed and hurried down the lit hallway, down to my parents’ wing. Before I could turn the door knob, a hand gripped me and scooped me off my feet.

Me: “Leave me alone, I want to save my mother” I cried because, so close to my parents’ room, I could hear mother’s groans, amidst other voices. I turned and saw Mary, my favorite nanny. Her eyes were red rimmed like she had been crying.
Mary: “Leke bobo, your mother will be fine, your dad will take care of her” she whispered and stroked my head as she usually did on those nights that mother was out late and I was unable to sleep. She took me back to my bedroom, and pressed down a door knob by the bedlamp, which brought a maid to the room.
Mary: “Bring Leke, his favorite hot chocolate” she instructed.
Leke: “I don’t want chocolate, I want my mummy” I wailed. We all heard footsteps coming down the hall to my bedroom, the door opened and there was a young lady glaring at us. She was lithesome, with very fair skin, and deep dark eyes. She had long black wavy hair, and she looked like the people my science teacher called “half caste” when she was teaching us the races of the world. She would have been beautiful, but the aura and the permanent scowl on her face, made it hard for me to associate beauty with her. My nanny Mary was beautiful, even though she didn’t have the body that this woman had, even though she did plain sade braids, even though her hands were callused from all the hard work she had done in her life. But she, not this woman was beautiful, because where this woman inspired fear, Mary inspired love and security. So, I saw her as ugly and in one of my moods in the future, I would call her that, to her face.
Woman: “You will have chocolate and keep your mouth shut”
Leke: “Who are you to tell me how...

When a student gains admission by presenting his NEPA BILL and 120 in Jamb, how would he understand dy/dx ? . When students concentrate only on past questions without understating course content ,what do you expect? When some of the lecturers are not qualified to lecture? When a lecturer teach you one thing (some of them do not even teach) and bring another thing in exam? To mention but a few
