So sad right now. I felt betrayed. The contact in question is a close friend. Should have invested the money since last month and even got a better rate. This guy begged me, Had to put the cash in fix deposit for his sake cos he needed it to safe his ass, with an agreement that it will be terminated by first week of October to meet Up with Wednesday tb bidding. Sad part is, he's the one in charge of tb so I think it's a deliberate mistake. My confusion is that the fix deposit has been terminated and the money already in my savings account, so I don't know why he would do that. In fact I got so worried, had to call him this weekend and he said I'm not the only one, that many people have not been debited. Thank God I ask here, I mostly don't ask questions here cos I felt I had an edge with an insider.
All is well. I will walk into bank on Monday and grab any secondary market offer on ground. Thanks guys
Use another branch for the secondary market

Anyone yet to be debited by stanbic? My account officer keep telling me stanbic 364 bid was successful yet I have not been debited. Please house, does it takes this long? I don't have the stomach for patience right now, rate is really going down and I want to lock in something good before it too late. Already thinking of going for secondary market on Monday but my contact at stanbic keep telling me I will be debited cos the bid went through. Any advice please please please...
If as at now, your account hasn't been debited just go for secondary market on Monday. Don't mind them they want to delay for another 2wks but try to confirm your account through internet, ATM or whatsoever because you may not receive alert.
Mind you your interest will be left over in your account

What if I told the three of you that your questions have been answered in the first 10 pages of this thread.

I won't be surprised if the next post is "please how do I go about TB".

undecided undecided undecided
Don't mind them. The main problem affecting our people is laziness. I got to know about treasury bill on this nairaland and I took my time to read from page 1 to 289 pages.
I didn't even ask a single question before going to the bank. When I got to the bank. It was somehow tough because they (bank) tried to discourage me but thank God I won at last I insist on TB. Later I learnt here that First bank and stanbic are the best so I moved from Wema to Stanbic since I will prefer primary. Also I research more on Google about TB before investing.
Even if they can not read from page 1,reading from the last 30pages will still enlighten them and answer their questions

Stanbic Money Market Fund now reinvest your accrued interest earned, and the resulting earnings are added to your original principal to form a new principal. The idea is to enable their clients to maximize their earnings and to allow for more transparency in the management of the Fund. Sounds great, except that they ought to have communicated with their clients before implementing. I spoke at length with them and I can feel their seriousness. Enjoy the enhanced earning model.
.
Cool. Getting more interested

Lol. I thought I was the only only one that carries out daily calculations. Your calculation is spot on. Its usually ±1% of the actual percentage on their website.

I've argued severally with them about this and asked them to be more transparent in their calculations and also show us what is being paid in daily.

The extra additions the last few days have been slightly frightening. They are yet to harmonize the mobile app data with the website data. Mobile app still shows interest carryover from last quarter.
Yes someone needs to calculate it maybe they will be more transparent this time around

If I remember correctly, sometime in May, I placed a redemption request around 10a.m for about 75% of my investment, and the funds hit my account the same day. Stanbic is really cool.

What I don't understand now is the fact that the interest on my funds from the last quarter is about 18% more than I expected, there have been some extra additions that I don't understand. Anyone has an explanation for this please?
Yeah also received the extra additons but don't understand. Based on my daily calculation, the interest on my fund is around 17.47% but it was about 18%+ on their website

Rates are seriously tanking, I pray your auction is successfully. But peradventure if it was not successful, make sure first thing on Monday morning try to get from the secondary market.
I have always enjoyed good secondary rates from my bank before 9am on Monday mornings.

Although I am gradually reducing my Treasury Bills portfolio.
Please which bank

If CBN continues to print large amounts of money to support government borrowing, it will result in even higher levels of inflation. With higher levels of inflation, the real rate of return (nominal rate - inflation rate) will decrease. T-bill rates should adjust to reflect inflation in the medium term so bit better than longer term bonds.

Anyone looking to invest in longer term bonds like the FGN or sukuk bonds need to consider inflation risk before they lock in their funds for the long term.
Thanks
