brightidea: My bosses, I took IELTS in March and my result is :Listening: 7.5; Reading: 6.5; Writing: 7.5; Speaking: 6.5; Overall: 7.0. I have a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and I am 40.Can I scale through on 189? I need clarifications from the house. you are already 40 and above so you will lose a lot of points, however you have a Phd so u can gain points there. My candid advise is to re-write IELTS / PTE to gain at least 10 points. with additional 10 points and points from PHD (if positively accessed) should be enough. try and calculate your point online tho... |

Bnimz: An identity document I already provided. I just uploaded it again and clicked information provided. When they ask for a document again - a document u already provided, it could be that they are not satisfied with the former. It might be a good idea to upload another form of identification in addition to the former. My thoughts tho.. |

bellong: Except you don't have kids, it is difficult getting a shared apartment.
Depending on the state you are moving to, the cost of a 2 bedroom apartment is between $220-$300/week. I don't have kids...yet. I'm prepared to pay between 200 - 300 weekly. Destination is Melbourne. I'm not looking at shared apartments. It could be a 1 bedroom flat so far it's ok. Issue now is how can one get these without paying heavy bonds. |

bellong: Craiglist is not so popular in Australia unlike in the USA.
Best bet are Gumtree, flatmates, Airbnb .. These for shared apartment (gumtree has flat rental too)
For 2, 3, 4 bedroom and above use
www.realestate.com.au and www.rent.com.au Thanks boss, will try these |

It was Transcript as well as a letter from the university that the medium of instruction and examination was English language. The letter was not addressed to DIBP so it could be the reason why it was rejected. however it is always safer to take the English examinations. Since i am the primary applicant and i did not claim points from partner skills, there was no need to access her skills JERRYMAG4: Congratulations my guy! Please what letter from the university did you get for your wife? Was it transcript? Also, hope they did not ask ur wife to access her skill also? |
